- The story itself is always the inspiration. The idea feeds itself.
- Even if I feel sick, haven't slept in two days, am stressed to the highest degree and don't even like what I'm doing, I'll never stop. Many people and especially those my age aren't willing to do this. We all dream big, but to get there you've got to actually do something.
- [on 4:02] There were random times when I'd be hit with a buzz of energy and inspiration, an epic high.
- It's hard for me to tell what it means for me to create. When I'm working on it, I'm so obsessed with creating it.
- [on The Unearthing]I have this theory that my subconscious had the entire film already written, and I just intercepted and assembled the puzzle pieces. The film started out unclear, but really came together when I came up with the main plot arc between the central characters.
- [on The Unearthing] The best part of production was definitely this last stretch of seeing the finished product. I always push through the final cut saying I'm never going to do another movie, but I know that's crazy talk.
- I'm probably drawn to film because I enjoy movies a lot. I think it's an ultimate art that includes all kinds of different craft aspects; writing, acting, music, photography, motion, etc. Creating something that feels like it exists is some straight magic.
- [on Freedom and Isolation] If this story was a feature there would be so much filler needing to be added. For me run times just need to be enough to tell the story how you want.
