The Guardians of the Galaxy movies always have fantastic soundtracks. Director James Gunn picks from an excellent selection of songs from classic rock to 80s pop. One song by The Beatles has a surprising connection to the history of the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, Gunn decided not to include it in any of the movies.

“Rocky Raccoon” was written by Paul McCartney and debuted in 1968’s The White Album. One of The Beatles’ stranger tracks, it centers around a character whose wife leaves him for another man. He then challenges the man to a duel, only to get shot, then go on a spiritual journey when he discovers Gideon’s bible.
While it’s not one of the band’s biggest hits, it did impact a few Marvel writers.

John Lennon ‘Thanked God’ He Didn’t Write This ‘Quirky’ Beatles Song and it’s Easy to Understand Why
There are many songs by The Beatles that John Lennon didn’t like. Some of these he wrote himself, while others are works by Paul McCartney or George Harrison. Lennon said there is one song he “thanked god” he didn’t write, and it is one of the band’s stranger songs.

The superhero series has lost its momentum of late but the mega-studio’s newly unveiled plans look potentially mouth-watering
Can we all admit that it was starting to look decidedly hairy for Marvel prior to last week’s info-splurt of a Comic-Con panel? After shaping the Hollywood architecture for more than a decade, the Disney-owned superhero studio has in the past nine months released a trio of movies – Eternals, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder – that if not quite duds, certainly came nowhere near the top ranks of the critical pantheon.
With a lingering sense that any movie not part of the Multiverse Saga might as well have been subheaded “a filler you needn’t have bothered catching”, the studio seemed to be going through a sticky period. But let’s put this in perspective: we are talking about a few under par episodes...
