May Tank rest in peace!
We got an upsetting loss on Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Episode 8 with the death of Tank, while Simone's ex returned to her and Lucas' surprise. Also, Teddy is officially the new chief.
Join Joshua Johnson, Meaghan Frey, and Jasmine Blu as they discuss the hour.
Were you shocked by the outcome of Link's surgery with Tank? Do you think there will be blowback on Link and the hospital after such a high-profile death?
Joshua: I wasn't entirely shocked by Tank's death; from Link's first scene talking about the surgery, it was obvious that the patient would die. Even once we got to know Tank, I knew he would die: he was so likable, everyone was rooting for him, even his mother phoning in to "admonish" Simone and Blue was a hint that Tank was going to die.
I was very moved by the story and cried when Tank died.

Did Grey's Anatomy manage to reboot itself after 19 years?
That seems to be the case from the very first moments of Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Episode 1. And we're all pretty excited about it and what the rest of the season has in store.
Join Meaghan Frey, Joshua Johnson, and Jasmine Blu as they discuss the premiere, the new interns, and much more.
How do you feel about this reboot, if you will, of the series, and does it work?
Meaghan: This is exactly what Grey's Anatomy needed to breathe life back into the series.
Yes, they've introduced new intern classes throughout the series, but it never felt like they fully shifted focus to them. They always ended up being additions to the already massive cast, and only one or two ever transitioned to main character status.
With this episode, even though the old cast was there, it felt like the new group was front and center.

Jon Hamm is set to star as an FBI agent trying to shut down Salt of the Earth, the only movie named to the Hollywood Blacklist, in a new scripted podcast series.
Audible has ordered The Big Lie, a seven-part audio drama series created by John Mankiewicz, a relative of Citizen Kane co-screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz.
Kate Mara, Ana de la Reguera, John Slattery, Bradley Whitford, Lisa Edelstein, Giancarlo Esposito and David Strathairn also star.
Mankiewicz, a co-exec producer on House of Cards and Bosch, will exec produce alongside Hamm. It comes from a story by blacklisted Salt of the Earth producer Paul Jarrico, co-written by Jamie Napoli and directed by Aaron Lipstadt. Fresh Produce Media produces.

Brett Morgen qualifies as one of the most successful directors in documentary film, with credits that range from Cobain: Montage of Heck to The Kid Stays in the Picture, and a raft of awards to his name. But, surprisingly, his long list of honors doesn’t include a Primetime Emmy.
“I have a terrible track record at the Emmys. I am currently 0-for-21 with my movies. The day tends to be very long,” he says of the Creative Arts ceremony, where Emmys in documentary categories are presented.
But that “oh-for” streak could end next month when his latest documentary, Jane, competes for seven Emmys including the prestigious Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking. The film, about the pioneering primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall, is also nominated for nonfiction directing, writing, cinematography, editing, sound editing and sound design.
“First and foremost, we’re just thrilled that our film has received this recognition...

It was a clear victory for sci-fi sound editing Sunday night at the 65th annual Mpse Golden Reel Awards at the Westin Bonaventure. “War for the Planet of the Apes” was the surprise winner for Dialogue/Adr, splitting honors with “Blade Runner 2049,” which grabbed the Effects/Foley prize. The big loser was “Dunkirk” (which won the BAFTA sound award earlier Sunday). However, Christopher Nolan’s World War II survival epic took home the Music Score award and remains the sound editing Oscar favorite.
In addition, “The Greatest Showman,” “Coco,” “Loveless,” and “Jane” earned sound editing awards for Musical, Animation, Foreign Language, and Documentary. The big TV winner was “Game of Thrones” (“The Spoils of War”) for Dialogue/Adr and Effects/Foley. Other TV honorees included “Black Mirror” (“USS Callister”) for Episodic Long Form Dialogue/Adr; “Godless” (“Homecoming”) and “Ozark” (“The Toll”) for Episodic Long Form Effects/Foley; “The Get...
