With awards like the Cinema Eye Honors’ Unforgettables Award, documentary organizations are beginning to draw attention not just to the filmmakers behind documentary cameras but the subjects in front. Still, Britdoc’s latest is utterly original: the world’s first documentary cookbook. Currently fundraising on Kickstarter, the project is a digital download illustrated by Ben Lamb containing savory recipes from documentary subjects all over the world, from Chicago’s Ameena Matthews (from Steve James’ The Interrupters) to Burma’s Joshua Min Htut (Burma VJ) to an as-yet-unrevealed “certain American living somewhere in Russia.” Six of the doc chefs have already been announced, with all […]...

Concept Art by Joshua Min Click Here For More Amazing Spider-man 2 Artwork We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. Alfonso De La Torre ("Snow White and the Huntsman"), worked on many different facets of Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters from matte paintings, to environment designs, to creature design, and even designing the way in which the Colchis Bull moves. Below, you can see his designs for Polyphemus the Cyclops, Tyson (Percy Jackson's half brother) and the half-horse, half-fish creature, Hippocampus. By the way what do you feed a Hippocampus? Seriously, when you go to the pet store, do you go into the fish section, or do you pick up pet supplies for a horse? While Joshua Min has unveiled his artwork for the film, which you can also see below. It includes images of Kronos, and interior of the Colchis Bull, which is a bronze bull the size of elephant. Let's address the elephant in the room. Many of you will look at that one Viper image below, that I'm also using for the icon image, and notice that Jessica Biel ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre") is depicted as Viper. A role that Svetlana Khodchenkova ended up playing in James Mangold's film. For those of you that don't know or forgot, about a year ago, it was reported, by multiple sites, that Jessica had landed the part. A day later, Jessica informed Hitfix that it wasn't a done deal. Then shortly after that, she officially exited the project claiming a scheduling conflict. You know, since she is so busy. Anyways, enjoy all the cool art below.
