“People ask me, where are all the great exploitation movies today? The low-budget horror films? They’re on the Lifetime Network!” Shudder’s horror host Joe Bob Briggs once said, and he’s not entirely wrong about that. There’s plenty of entertainment value to be found in Lifetime’s particular brand of thriller, and a new year brings along with it a brand new slate.
Deadline reports on Lifetime’s Quarter 1: 2024 slate of original thrillers this afternoon, which promises fourteen brand new thrillers premiering here in the early months of the year.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Callie Khouri had an ace in the hole when she created the ABC-turned-cmt musical drama Nashville a decade ago: She’s married to T Bone Burnett, a songwriter and record producer with 13 Grammys to his name. And Burnett’s supervision of Nashville’s first-season music helped sell the illusion that Connie Britton’s Rayna James and Hayden Panettiere’s Juliette Barnes were actually country superstars. Unfortunately, Burnett left the show after Season 1 amid conflict with ABC executives, but his work on the show helped Nashville soundtrack albums soar on Billboard’s U.S. Country charts. With Nashville hitting its 10th anniversary on October 10, we’re sharing our favorite tracks from the show — including ones performed by costars Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Chaley Rose, and real-life sisters Lennon and Maisy Stella. “If I Didn’t Know Better” by Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio Co-written by John Paul White of The Civil Wars,...

Tonight on Hallmark Channel, Chaley Rose (Nashville) and Nathan Witte (Charmed) star in My Best Friend's Bouquet.
Rose plays Josie Hughes, a hopeless romantic who believes in the kind of love you find in black-and-white movies, where the leading lady finds her one true love and gets swept off of her feet.
Witte plays Alex, her best friend who has secretly carried a torch for Josie since they were in college. Getting swept up in the wedding mania of one of their best friends finds Josie falling hard for the wrong man after catching the wedding bouquet.
That means Alex needs to get out of his own way to show Josie why she's already had the one right at her fingertips.

Fall is beautiful, and even though trees are dying, their loss offers some of the most fragrant scents of the year.
On that happy note, we're pleased to report that Hallmark Channel is rolling out a new slate of Fall Harvest movies, and we couldn't be happier. Let's take a look at what's coming.

Things might be getting a little meta this season.
One of the new residents introduced on Code Black Season 3 Episode 1 is filming a documentary ... something along the lines of what Ryan McGarry made about the Los Angeles County Hospital ER.
But he's not the only newbie, and boy did they have a hell of a first day.
Pepper definitely had it the worst. Who gets accidentally dosed with fentanyl on their first day?! I hope her insurance and sick time kicks in right away.
Despite her being, well, unconscious for most of the hour, we learned a surprising amount about the new female resident. In addition to being a little meek and self-doubting, her real name is Andrea and she had throat cancer as a kid.

Nashville is bringing back Chaley Rose‘s Zoe in Season 4. Dare we hope for a Zag Band reunion?!
Probably not, given that EW.com reports that Scarlett’s bestie — and Gunnar’s ex — will be back in town because of a “tragedy.”
Rose is slated for at least one episode in the upcoming season, showrunner Dee Johnson tells the site, though perhaps an interaction with Gunnar will cause her to extend her stay in Music City?

The country music community gathered in Nashville on Thursday to say goodbye to legendary performer Little Jimmy Dickens, and not surprisingly, the focus was on his size: His huge smile and big laugh. His great heart. His enormous sense of humor. His larger-than-life stage personality. In fact if anything became abundantly clear during the two-hour funeral at the Grand Ole Opry House where Dickens had performed countless times, it was this: His height - all 4 feet 11 inches - was the only thing about Little Jimmy Dickens that was small. Longtime friend and fishing buddy Brad Paisley presided over the public celebration of Dickens's life,...

We love Nashville - the songs! the drama! - so we're thrilled it's coming back for a third season. But that's still a while away, so it's just as well the DVD is out to keep us occupied (and, um, singing) in the meantime.
To celebrate, we called up Sam Palladio - who plays Gunnar, of course - to find out more about the show (and what could be coming up in the future). Will there be a UK tour? How will Sam handle the live shows? What's going on with Scarlett or with Zoey? How will Will cope with being outed? And why does Sam want to be a playboy with the ability to fly next season? Read on to find out what we learned!
1. Don't worry, Sam isn't planning on losing his English accent any time soon (um, yeah, if you didn't know, he's English).

Yes, it's been an uneven season for "Nashville," I won't disagree. There have been points in the season in which I felt I was tuning in simply to listen to the music and watch Connie Britton flip her hair. It is really good hair, after all. Some storylines felt rehashed or at the very least circular -- Scarlett's mom seemed to have gone to the same school of crazy as Juliette's mom, Rayna wanted Deacon when Deacon wasn't available, then vice versa, then he was drinking, then he was mad at her about Maddie, and then I couldn't even keep track of all the obstacles keeping these two apart. Love triangles were everywhere and often overlapped. Really, you'd think from watching this show that there are only a handful of available men in Nashville. But what makes the show compelling (other than Britton's hair) is the soapy fun of it all.

Living in 2014 means I am constantly surrounded by musical TV shows, even when I don’t want to be. It all started with Glee. Then there was Smash, and now I’ve got Nashville. I realize that I could change the channel if I wanted, but what’s the point? Even my non-musical shows have started including musical numbers. For example, I recently started binge-watching Hart of Dixie, and even that show has Scott Porter behind a mic every couple of episodes! The lesson: There’s no escaping the music.
The good news is that it’s not the music...
