Jason Knecht
- Actor
- Special Effects
Born and raised in the Sacramento area. Jason started film making as a
fun hobby helping out fellow film maker Steve. He found he really
enjoyed it and pursued it as much as he could at the time. He made his
film making debut on Claude's Cafe where he helped in any way needed
from make-up effects to a small single line acting part. He made his
directing debut with Me and My Pet Knife, a short student film he
co-directed with Todd Reeves. After doing this short Steve invited him
back to take on the role of assistant director on Steve's next film,
The Scorpion and The Chainsaw. Again he perform many different duties
on this film above and beyond the assistant director title. He also did
most of the special effects, some location scouting and shot a large
majority of the film in his home over a nine month shoot. He also
played a small role as a drunken casino patron who finds the shocking
end of a stun gun. This was also one of the few "stunts" in the shoot.
After filming ended, he began the task of editing the film, but life
got in the way and Steve took over. Since this film wrapped in 2004,
Jason's only work in film was as a zombie in the independent film The
Beginning. The on-screen time was so short, if you blink, you will miss
him. The film debuted on June 8, 2007 at the Rio theatre in Santa Cruz
CA to a sold out crowd.
