November on Horror Channel sees network premieres for a memorable collection of strange cult oddities and forgotten British horror classics, kicking off with the network premiere of Nicolas Roeg’s The Man Who Fell to Earth, starring David Bowie. Joining Bowie in the realm of the weird and wonderful is Roy Boulting’s psychological ground-breaker Twisted Nerve, Michael Powell’s controversial (and classic) Peeping Tom, Robert Fuest’s Hitchcockian And Soon the Darkness and Jimmy Sangster’s Hammer classic Fear in the Night.
Also, there are UK TV premieres for Emmerdale actor Dominic Brunt’s directorial feature film debut Before Dawn, Lulu Jarmen’s disturbing Bad Meat (review) and Padraig Reynold’s festival favourite Rites of Spring (review).
The line up in full:
Fri 1 Nov @ 22:55 – The Man Who Fell To Earth (1976)

Stars: Jessica Parker Kennedy, Elisabeth Hartnois, Dave Franco, Mark Pellegrino, Taj Mwohry | Written by Paul Gerstenberger | Directed by Lulu Jarmen
Bad Meat stars Jessica Parker Kennedy from the Kevin Williamson created The Secret Circle, in a low-budget splatter flick, scripted by an Englishman and lensed in Canada, playing a tough-as-nails teenager who, along with a group of her peers (which include Dave “brother of James” Franco amongst their number), are subjected to the indignities of a correctional camp for troubled teens. I say indignities because this camp is run by a Hitler-loving racist camp leader and his merry band of twisted staff, who think of nothing to masturbate each other in the corridors of the camp and piss on their charges to wake them up in the morning!
Bad Meat is, by it’s writers own admission, not an entirely successful film. Apparently shorn of it’s original ending, and...

Lulu Jarmen's ultra gory contagion horror Bad Meat, which had its world premiere at the FrightFest Halloween Allnighter back in 2011, is finally available on DVD in the UK from Kaleidoscope Entertainment, and we have a look at the box art and more here.
Starring Dave Franco (21 Jump Street), Elisabeth Harnois (Mars Needs Moms), Jessica Parker-Kennedy ("The Secret Circle"), and Mark Pellegrino ("Supernatural," "Lost"), Bad Meat follows a group of teenage delinquents who contract a deadly virus after being ordered to a remote camp for rehabilitation.
Bad Meat is also available on DVD and VOD in the Us and Canada, where it was recently released by Jinga Films and Mvd.
Compared to Eli Roth's Cabin Fever and Michal J. Bassett's Wilderness, Bad Meat trades in all manner of bodily fluids, puking perverts, a graphic dog dissection, amateur stomach-pumping, chewed body parts, and ripped-off genitals. You Brits enjoy now - Cheerio!

Late last year we stuck up some new pics taken from Lulu Jarmen's flesh-eating horror comedy venture 'Bad Meat' and ever since we've been sitting around just waiting to see the final product. It was originally hit with funding problems when 'Wrong Turn' helmer Rob Schmidt was behind the camera but got rolling again with Jarmen at the helm when the money finally got the project back on track. Now at last 'Bad Meat' is expected to arrive on DVD in the Us from 19 February 2013 thanks to the Mvd Entertainment Group. Elisabeth Harnois -below ('Miami Medical'), Dave Franco ('Scrubs'), Jessica Parker Kennedy ('In Time') and Mark Pellegrino ('Supernatural') all star....

Director Lulu Jarmen’s “Bad Meat” proves once again why it’s always a bad idea to send teenage delinquents to rehabilitation clinics in the middle of nowhere. If they don’t spend their time hooking up in grungy cabins, they tend to get eviscerated by people with nefarious agendas. I’ve seen it happen time and time again. Of course, Jarmen’s nasty looking horror movie shouldn’t be confused with Scott Dikkers’s bizarre Chevy Chase comedy “Bad Meat.” Trust me when I say you don’t want to confuse the two. Although I haven’t seen Jarmen’s film yet, I’m almost positive it’s better than the other “Bad Meat.” Read the DVD packaging very carefully before purchase. Here’s what the official press release says about the flick: Starring Dave Franco (“21 Jump Street”), Elisabeth Harnois (“Mars Needs Moms”) Jessica Parker-Kennedy (“Decoys”) and Mark Pellegrino...

The film with the troubled past, Bad Meat, is making its way to DVD on February 19th. Lulu Jarmen took the helm of this gory thriller when Rob Schmidt (Wrong Turn) bowed out after directing a chunk of the film until its funding fell through.

Well, folks, 2011 is officially in the can, and surprisingly it wasn't such a horrendous year. It was definitely better than 2010, which was a huge step up from the putrid 2009. We laughed, we applauded, we were left dumbstruck, and of course we were infuriated. Read on for our cheers and jeers!
Now, with a fresh movie-watching start before us, we're taking our usual yearly look back at the good, the bad, the Wtf, and everything in between.
And don't be lazy by just reading along! Get off of your asses and give us your lists in the comments section below. We wanna hear from you if only to compare notes. Lots and lots of notes.
Speaking of notes, the most common complaint we've heard over the years is that we don't have one definitive list representing Dread Central as a whole so for 2011 we dropped everyone's choices in the blender, hit puree,...

The new horror film "Bad Meat" from Revolver Entertainment has been reportedly fraught with production setbacks, including a shift from original director Rob Schmidt ("Wrong Turn") to total newcomer LuLu Jarmen to finish production. Yeah.
Horror movie websites have all posted the trailer, the synopsis, and some images. Some have even referenced the production problems. But no one has even bothered to ask, "Who is LuLu Jarmen?"
Because I'm obsessed with women horror directors (yes, literally obsessed) this is the first question on my mind. "Bad Meat" is her only IMDb credit; she isn't anywhere else on the Internet; no website, no Facebook page, no Twitter account, no bio on IMDb... nothing. So. It's probably just a pseudonym for director Rob Schmidt, because he's so embarrassed by how it turned out that he doesn't want to be blamed for it. You see, he had originally announced the film in 2007/2008 as...

Lulu Jarmen's 'Bad Meat' has a trio of freshly cut stills to feast your meat-eating eyes upon. The flesh-eating comedy horror flick, penned by Paul Gerstenberger, appears at the Afm '11 this week and stars Jessica Parker Kennedy ('In Time'), Elisabeth Harnois ('Miami Medical'), Dave Franco ('Scrubs') and Mark Pellegrino - who always manages to pop up in every one of my favourite TV shows including 'Dexter', 'Lost' and 'Supernatural'. The Canadian production was shot in Winnipeg and has in fact been floating around for quite some time now. You hardcore bastards out there may recall this being Rob Schmidt's ('Wrong Turn') baby at one point back in 2007/2008 but unfortunately the project ran into financial difficulty. But all's well that ends well and you can check out the three new stills below.

The opening salvo in the FrightFest Halloween All-Nighter was an “interesting” choice with which to begin. By sheer coincidence I had spent an hour earlier in the afternoon interviewing Jessica Parker Kennedy about her hit TV show, the Kevin Williamson created The Secret Circle, and there she was, wrought big on the screen, now starring in a low-budget splatter flick, scripted by an Englishman and lensed in Canada, playing a tough-as-nails teenager who, along with a group of her peers, are subjected to the indignities of a correctional camp for troubled teens. I say indignities because this camp is run by a Hitler-loving racist camp leader and his merry band of twisted staff, who think of nothing to masturbate each other in the corridors of the camp and piss on...
