For country singer Whitney Duncan, tragedy struck on a day that should have been one of celebration. The same day that Whitney Duncan learned she made Survivor, she also found out her cousin, Holly Bobo, had gone missing.
When Holly Bobo mysteriously vanished, it sent a wave of shock, sadness, and terror throughout the community.
What happened to Duncan’s cousin Bobo?
Bobo was only 20 years old when she was kidnapped from her Tennessee home while preparing to leave for nursing school. The cousin of the Survivor: South Pacific cast member seemed to vanish into thin air. Her family members soon launched a search.
However, the website All That’s Interesting reports that there were very few leads and almost no clues. On the day that she disappeared, April 13, 2011, Bobo’s mother got a concerning phone call at work from one of the neighbors saying that there had been screaming at the house.

Survivor contestants endure being stranded on a deserted island and dealing with treacherous weather conditions. But that’s not all. In addition to following strict rules — like being allowed only two luxury items and not talking to the crew — players must compete in various challenges. One of the most notorious is the “Piranha Feast.” And it’s as disgusting as it sounds.
What is the ‘Survivor’ challenge Piranha Feast? ‘Survivor: South Pacific’ castmates Jim Rice, Whitney Duncan, Keith Tollefson, Dawn Meehan, and Elyse Umemoto | Monty Brinton/CBS via Getty Images
This recurring Survivor challenge involved contestants using their mouths to rip hunks of meat off a large roasted animal and placing them into a basket. The tribe with the most meat in the basket when the timer stopped won.
The CBS reality TV show introduced the Piranha Feast — also known as “Hungry for Love” and “Pig Out” — in season 6, Survivor: The Amazon.

The coldness of backstabs and blindsides is what keeps many “Survivor” fans watching year after year. In a game that requires individuals to rely on each other, only to break promises to get to the end, personal betrayals are inevitable. We’ve been hooked on the backstabbing since Season 1, when Kelly Wiglesworth voted out her former ally, Sue Hawk, resulting in an epic jury speech from Sue about refusing to give her a drink of water if she sees her in the real world dying of thirst. Tour our photos above of the most devastating backstabbing moments in “Survivor” history.
See ‘Survivor 40’ advantages: Who currently has immunity idols, fire tokens in ‘Winners at War’?
Some of our favorite blindsides involved players outwitting each other and having some fun with it. One example includes James Clement in “Survivor: China” being voted out by his alliance with two hidden immunity idols in his pocket.

If “Survivor” fans finally get their wish of a long-rumored all-winners edition for Season 40 (due out in 2020), then the following five Male champs must be a part of the action, say our readers who voted in our recent poll. “Boston” Rob Mariano (Season 22) earned 15% of the vote, Yul Kwon (Season 13) also received 15%, Richard Hatch (Season 1) nabbed 12%, John Cochran (Season 26) scored 11% and Tony Vlachos (Season 28) netted 7%. Do you agree or disagree with your fellow “Survivor” fans? Be sure to sound off down in the comments section.
Rob has competed in no less than four seasons — “Marquesas,” “All Stars,” “Heroes vs. Villains” and “Redemption Island” — and will also be a part of the upcoming “Island of the Idols” as a mentor along with Sandra Diaz-Twine, who is one of the five Female winners who fans want to return. It’s official: 65% of “Survivor” fans have voted that they want to see an all-winners edition for the reality TV show’s 40th season (scheduled for early 2020). If the stars align, which castaways do you hope return for this long-awaited battle of the champions? As a refresher, over the past 38 seasons men accounted for 23 victories while 15 seasons were won by women (see all winners in our photo gallery above). Vote in our poll below to tell us which Male Sole “Survivors” must be a part of this potential all-winners season.

Many consider Richard Hatch, the show’s first-ever winner, to be the best of the best even 19 years later. Richard’s way of playing the game in “Borneo” — from creating alliances to being boastful about eliminating people — helped shape the reality TV villain of today.

“Survivor: Edge of Extinction” castaway Reem Daly learned the hard way about the struggles of being an older woman on “Survivor.” The Season 38 premiere was a self-admitted “nightmare” for Reem as her tribe quickly targeted her for being a weak link, in addition to her assertive attitude, and she became the first person voted out of this season. Reem still has a chance of getting back into the game thanks to the extinction island twist, but it was still a rough turn of events for the 46-year-old sales rep from Virginia. While Reem’s ouster was in part due to a lack of fitting in with her tribe, it’s hard to not see her early difficulties as just another example of women of a certain age struggling on “Survivor,” going all the way back to the first season.

Christian Hubicki and Gabby Pascuzzi, the self-described “nerds” of “Survivor: David vs. Goliath,” are now tied for who’ll win the $1 million prize. According to the predictions of our readers, both members of the David tribe have 5/1 odds to win, putting them ahead of Jeremy Crawford (third place at 13/2 odds), Nick Wilson (fourth place at 15/2 odds) and last week’s frontrunner Dan Rengering (fifth place at 17/2 odds). [Prelude: This was a nutty, chaotic week and I really wasn't able to get on top of my seven "Amazing Race: All-Stars" and "Survivor: Cagayan" exit interviews. Apologies for the slowness, but it means a little extra content over the holiday weekend and whatnot. Starting tonight, I'll post my four "Survivor: Cagayan" exit interviews, one per day (give or take) starting with the season's fourth place finisher. Then I'll get to the three "Amazing Race: All-Stars" exit interviews, by which time you'll hopefully have forgotten how awful the finale was. Again, though, sorry for the delay.] My first two "Survivor: Cagayan" finale exit interviews could hardly be more different. Up first is Spencer Bledsoe, who made a disadvantageous alliance at the beginning with Garrett, an alliance that nearly led to his snuffing from the notoriously weak Brains tribe. Spencer came close to being in a power position after the Merge, but Kass' abrupt flip-flop had him scurrying for several weeks. Only a string of Immunity wins, aggressive scrambling and Tony's paranoia kept him from going home, but a tight Immunity loss to Kass at Final 4 ended his run. In some cases finishing fourth is a disappointment, but given Spencer's early position, such a long run was so impressive that he earned a vocal apology and a sealed letter of apology from "Survivor" host Jeff Probst, who underestimated him initially. Reflecting on his experience, super-fan Spencer is humble, introspective and self-deprecating, which runs counter to...

In my recap of the "Survivor: Caramoan" finale, I pretended that Dawn Meehan had finished second, beating Sherri Biethman. That wasn't really true, of course. Dawn and Sherri received the same number of votes, which was "zero" as John Cochran rolled to a commanding victory. The result was easy to predict after one of the most lopsided Final Tribal Councils in the show's history. Dawn was forced to defend being both strategically tough, but also emotional. Sherri was forced to defend her mere presence in the Top 3. And Cochran was asked what animal his game most resembled. It...

Dawn Meehan went from being one of "Survivor's" most likable players to a villain in the eyes of the jury by season's end. She tells Zap2it she was not prepared for the animosity of the jury.
Are you glad you went back to "Survivor"?
"Oh yeah. I absolutely love the game. I auditioned for Season 2, it's a miracle that I even played [eventually]. I watched it forever and somehow casting dug through old tapes and started a conversation with me. It's remarkable that I'm here. I was cast for Season 21 and cut two weeks before we left, then I made it to Season 23, so basically for the last three summers I've had nothing but 'Survivor' experiences and preparation. Dawn Meehan is not usually the type of person to end up in a controversy. Weeks of intense competition, alliances, betrayal, and elaborate mind games on Survivor all boiled down to one night, as the twenty-sixth Sole Survivor and $1 million prize winner was announced on Sunday.

The returning players outnumbered the newcomers by one heading into the series finale, but that margin was soon evened when Erik, who originally appeared on Survivor: Micronesia, was forced to withdraw from the competition for medical reasons.

Even worse, he was outnumbered – their tribe had only three Fans and four Favorites.

Will Neil Patrick Harris soon be scheming his way to a Survivor victory?
It could happen. Host Jeff Probst has spoken to the How I Met Your Mother star about playing the game – and is currently looking for other celebrities who want to outwit, outplay and outlast the competition in hopes of being Sole Survivor on the long-running CBS reality show.
A celebrity season actually isn't that far fetched. Last season, The Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel made the final three. And, in 2001, Kate Hudson and then–husband Chris Robinson showed up for an open audition for Survivor: Australia,...

I remember being out on location for Survivor: South Pacific and standing on the Savaii beach on day two. One person in particular was in trouble, and that person was Dawn Meehan. A longtime super-fan of the show who had first applied back for season 2, her dream had finally come true and she had made it onto the show. But now, just 24 hours after her adventure had started, that dream was turning into a nightmare. Sitting in a tribe full of younger, less clothed flirts and frolickers, Dawn wasn’t fitting in. And it was killing her. Imagine waiting 10 years for your moment to come,...

Is Phillip Sheppard a character, or was he merely playing one when he appeared on Survivor: Redemption Island? Walking around in pink undies and an occasional feather on his head, Phillip acted crazy and often drove his tribemates equally nutty with his behavior — which included mispronouncing one of their names and complaining about a lack of burnt rice. But the player insists that it was all a well-designed ruse to get him to the end of the game, and get to the end he did thanks to Boston Rob. Now, Phillip is back as one of the familiar faces returning...

Survivor will try to follow up its best season in years by reviving a concept from one of its best seasons ever when Survivor: Caramoan — Fans vs Favorites premieres Feb. 13 on CBS. And the names of both the new fans and returning favorites can now be officially revealed. This marks the show’s second Fans vs Faves venture after Survivor: Micronesia, widely considered one of the program’s strongest offerings. And one of the Fans from that season, Erik Reichenbach (who was most famous for giving up his immunity necklace and then being voted off), will now be...

Less than three weeks after returning from filming Survivor: Philippines, Freberg was headed back out to the wilderness for a second shot at the $1 million dollar prize.
"My mental strategy has been to just not unwind," Freberg told People during his short time in the U.

Over the years, Survivor has reduced even the toughest people to tears. (Remember Russell Hantz getting weepy on Survivor: Redemption Island?) Now it seems it is former Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel’s turn to feel the emotional pain of being cut off from all friends and family while being subjected to constant rain and a lack of food, sleep, and shelter. In the below video clip from tomorrow night’s episode of Survivor: Philippines, we see a distraught and teary Whelchel talking about being isolated from the rest of the tribe. “I don’t feel like I’m fitting in.

Another week, another "Survivor: South Pacific" exit interview with the tattered remnants of the formerly strong Savaii tribe. As was the case with Jim & Keith two weeks ago, my latest exit interview is a twofer of evicted castaways who left the game grumbling about John Cochran and his apparently unsuccessful defection into the temporary warmth of Coach's Cult. In this interview we've got frequently insecure Mormon college professor Dawn Meehan and not-especially-bashful country crooner Whitney Duncan, who had some of the harshest (most pixelated) words for Cochran after his flip-flop. What do the two newest Jury members...
