Back in September, the first image from the horror film Don’t Move was unveiled. That’s the image above, which doesn’t show us anything other than the fact that the movie stars Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more about Don’t Move soon, though, because Variety reports that the worldwide distribution rights to the film have been acquired by the Netflix streaming service. A release date has not yet been announced.
Don’t Move is being produced by genre legend Sam Raimi. Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, who directed episodes of the Raimi-produced anthology series 50 States of Fright, directed the film from a screenplay written by T.J. Cimfel and David White, who previously wrote the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders and the recent creepy kid movie There’s Something Wrong with the Children. This film follows a seasoned killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent.

The project is led by Kelsey Asbille, breakout on the FX anthology series “Fargo” and “Yellowstone,” alongside frequent Ryan Murphy player and “The Big Short’ star Finn Wittrock.
It follows a seasoned serial killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent while the two of them are isolated deep in the forest. As the agent gradually takes over her body, she must run, hide, and fight for her life before her entire nervous system shuts down.
Filmmaking team Brian Netto and Adam Schindler directed the film, having previously delivered the Quibi serial “50 States of Fright.” T.J. Cimfel and David White of “Intruders” wrote the script.

Paramount Network’s Yellowstone is the most-watched show across all of television, so it makes sense that the first image from the horror film Don’t Move promotes the fact that Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille is in the movie. Actually, that’s pretty much all it promotes, because the image (which was first seen on Variety) just shows a close-up of Asbille’s face. You can take a look at it at the bottom of this article.

We’re less than a month into 2023, but there’s already an early frontrunner for the year’s most accurate movie title. You can love or hate “There’s Something Wrong with the Children,” but nobody can deny that there is definitely something wrong with those children. (Though “A Sad Orgy Can Really Ruin Your Life” would have been an equally accurate title.) The latest Blumhouse movie about creepy kids is a fitting addition to one of horror’s most reliable subgenres, and it manages to elevate itself above the competition through some genuinely compelling adult drama and a delightful Duffer Brothers-esque supernatural twist. And it’s infinitely more enjoyable than any direct-to-streaming January horror movie has any right to be.

The Blumhouse-produced There’s Something Wrong with the Children adds to a long, enduring line of evil kids in horror. Even the title suggests a classic tale of bad seeds terrorizing adults. Director Roxanne Benjamin (Body at Brighton Rock, Southbound) and screenwriters T.J. Cimfel and David White make it apparent early on that they’re more interested in using a familiar setup to explore new angles within the subgenre, subverting a few tropes in the process.

Roxanne Benjamin has quietly become a staple of horror over the better part of the last decade. The filmmaker made her imprint on many a genre fan with her segment in the much-beloved anthology "Southbound," before also contributing to "Xx." Benjamin then made her debut feature, the absolutely terrifying "Body at Brighton Rock," which was released in 2019. Now, after a several year stint directing on shows such as "Riverdale" and "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," Benjamin is back with her latest feature, "There's Something Wrong With the Children."

Based on the title of this review, I'm sure some readers expect me to eviscerate Blumhouse's "There's Something Wrong with the Children." It's likely those aren't the same people who had diaper discount mailers sent out to them the moment they turned 18. Targeted ads assume having children is what some of us must do -- despite our personal feelings or fiscal abilities to raise, birth, or adopt children. That's incredibly scary, as it reduces body autonomy to be a conditional term for non-parents. (Not to mention the cis-heteronormativity of it all that can trigger gender dysphoria and the deepest of sighs from those who don't want to have children or do but sadly can't in the queer community.)
Before I dive in further, I'd like to give flowers to director Roxanne Benjamin. Unequivocally, she captures how frustrating, confusing, and insulting this attitude feels through Margaret's (Alisha Wainwright) perspective. While the...

Never let your kids play in a creepy cave out in the middle of nowhere…especially one that features a bottomless pit. The parents in Blumhouse’s There’s Something Wrong with the Children – which just unveiled an official trailer – apparently didn’t get that memo.
The horror film stars Alisha Wainwright (Raising Zion), Zach Gilford (The Midnight Club), Amanda Crew (Silicon Valley), Carlos Santos (The Valet), David Mattle, and Briella Guiza. Body at Brighton Rock‘s Roxanne Benjamin directs from a screenplay by T.J. Cimfel and Dave White.

Just what is it with Sam Raimi and ordering people not to do things in the titles of horror movies he produces? Not content with Don't Breathe, he's now part of the team producing Don't Move.
The story, written by Tj Cimfel and David White, sees a seasoned killer injecting a grieving woman with a paralytic agent. She must run, fight and hide before her body completely shuts down.
And the new movie continues Raimi's run of backing films by duos who worked on his short-lived (in more than one respect Quibi horror series 50 States Of Fright, with Adam Schindler and Brian Netto behind the camera for this one.
"Alex and the team at Hammerstone as well as our friends at Capstone are the ideal production partners as we bring this compelling and twisted tale to light," says Raimi. "I am delighted to collaborate again with our co-directors...

Today is a good day for sickos who love weird horror. The production company owned by the incomparable Sam Raimi, Raimi Productions, is teaming up with Hammerstone Studios' Alex Lebovici, the executive producer behind this year's hit horror film, "Barbarian." The two companies are re-teaming with Christian Mercuri's Capstone Studios to bring to life a horror-thriller called "Don't Move," according to an exclusive news break over at Deadline. This is a follow-up collaborative effort between Raimi Productions, Hammerstone Studios, and Capstone Studios after the Bill Skarsgård action-thriller, "Boy Kills World," which is currently in post-production.
Not much has been made public regarding the story of "Don't Move," outside of an official logline that reads, "'Don't Move' watches as a seasoned killer injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent. She must then run, fight, and hide before her body completely shuts down." The film comes from Adam Schindler and Brian Netto,...

It’s a big day for screenwriters T.J. Cimfel and David White. A few hours ago, a trailer was released for the creepy kid movie There’s Something Wrong with the Children (check that out Here), which was written by Cimfel and White, who previously wrote the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders. Now it has been announced that Sam Raimi is producing the horror thriller Don’t Move, which Adam Schindler and Brian Netto will be directing from a script by Cimfel and White!
Intruders also happens to have been the feature directorial debut of Schindler. Netto’s feature directorial debut was the 2013 horror film Delivery: The Beast Within, which he and Schindler wrote together. Schindler and Netto then became a directing duo when they took the helm of the Grey Cloud Island (Minnesota) episodes of Raimi’s horror anthology series 50 States of Fright.

A cabin in the woods, a struggling marriage, and two giggling children who are ominously covered in blood? The upcoming Blumhouse and Epix collaboration has all the elements for disaster, so it's no wonder that it slots firmly into the horror/psychological thriller genres. It certainly doesn't help that the title alludes to one of horror's most reliable sources of dread, "There's Something Wrong with the Children."
Before supernatural horror even becomes a factor in the plot this film already has one of the most horrifying premises imaginable. When two couples head into the woods for a weekend getaway, one duo convinces the other to watch their children for the night while they take time to hash out some martial issues. Isn't the thought of unanticipated babysitting responsibilities terrifying?! Unfortunately, it only gets worse from here. Somehow, the babysitting couple loses sight of the children in the woods and when they're finally retrieved,...

Is there anything scarier than an evil kid? Be it possessed, damned, vampiric or even ghostly, it’s pretty chilling to witness the sugar and spice spoil. Anna Rook is isolated from human contact in nearly every way, which is exactly how she likes it. Suffering from crippling agoraphobia and holed up in an old Victorian mansion on the outskirts of town, the people in Anna’s life can be counted on two fingers: her terminally-ill brother, Conrad, and the charismatic Meals-on-Wheels driver, Dan. But Anna’s home is about to be invaded by a trio of small-time criminals after a hidden stash of cash. She can’t bring herself to flee, but what the intruders don’t realise is that agoraphobia is the least of her psychoses.

Tagline: "They Should Have Left Her Alone." Director: Adam Schindler. Writers: T.J. Cimfel and David White. Cast: Rory Culkin, Leticia Jimenez, Jack Kesy, Timothy T. McKinney, Joshua Mikel and Beth Riesgraf. Intruders is a new entry into the home invasion genre. Though, the film relies heavily on dramatic elements, too. From first time feature film director Adam Schindler, Intruders focuses on Anna's (Beth Riesgraf) dark history and a group of burglars. This material requires a serious tone and this causes the film to wade more into dramatic territory, compared to horror ones. Symbolism also makes an appearance, with Anna portrayed as a caged bird. Intruders is a captivating film, which will draw many viewers into its tense narrative. Anna is dealing with a dying brother. Conrad (Timothy T. McKinney) has been Anna's protector. Without him, she appears lost, almost like a little girl. Her tragic past, which is revealed late in the film,...

Home invasion films come in various flavors from the vicious (Kidnapped) to the fun (You’re Next), but the key to their success oftentimes comes down to the degree of intelligence displayed at both ends of the knife blade. Smart intruders are more of a threat, and smart protagonists make it all more interesting. Intruders (formerly Shut In), the newest entry in the sub-genre, knows this and delivers the goods with wit, brains, and intriguing story turns. It’s Home Alone for people who think breaking and entering should be punishable by death. Anna (Beth Riesgraf) hasn’t left her home in nearly a decade. Her father’s death ten years ago left her crippled with agoraphobia, and even stepping onto her front porch is enough to debilitate her. She’s kept busy though caring for her sick older brother, but when he finally succumbs she’s left unsure as to her next move. Her...

It’s one thing to bill your housebound thriller as “You’re Next meets Panic Room,” but to deliver on such an excitable description is a whole other ballgame.
Adam Schindler’s Intruders (originally titled Shut In) is an early bright spot for horror fans in 2016, thanks to a screenplay penned by T.J. Cimfel and David White that twists and turns with hints of early Shyamalan. It certainly mixes the brutality of You’re Next with the tension of Panic Room, and does so while blending themes of Agoraphobia, trap-making, and good versus evil. Secrets are kept while blood is spilled, and a star is made out of the film’s damsel in (momentary) distress, Beth Riesgraf. Opening this Pandora’s Box is a complete joy, even with a typically doomed January release date!
Riesgraf stars as Anna, a distraught sister who just watched her brother die from pancreatic cancer.

What’s meant to be a simple home robbery goes wrong in every conceivable way in Adam Schindler’s Shut In, an intense horror thriller that cleverly plays with the traditional ideas of cinematic heroes and villains and features a breakout performance from Beth Riesgraf, who does a brilliant job with her quietly heartbreaking performance that often seamlessly teeters between total naiveté and blistering madness. As far as home invasion stories go, Shut In does a nice job of mixing things up a bit by taking a few familiar genre tropes and giving them a brutal twist. You’re left wondering who should be afraid of who by the time the finale rolls around.
Shut In is centered around Anna (Riesgraf), an agoraphobic who hasn’t left her home in over a decade and has been tasked with caring for her older brother, who is succumbing to cancer. After he passes,...

Friday night at the 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival, Adam Schindler’s thriller Shut In enjoyed its world premiere. Written by T.J. Cimfel and David White, the film stars Beth Riesgraf as Anna, an agoraphobic woman who loses her brother- and her only connection to reality- to cancer. As she struggles to cope, three men (Martin Starr, Jack Kesy and Joshua Mikel) break into her home, not realizing that its last remaining resident isn’t going to give up the sanctity of her home (and the only world she knows) without a fight.

Following two successful horror anthologies thus far, the V/H/S series is continuing, and the first details on the sequel have surfaced. The threequel is called V/H/S Viral and this time follows fame-obsessed teens who unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation. This will likely be the story of the bookends used to tie all the horror shorts together. Speaking of which, this time the shorts will be directed by Todd Lincoln (The Apparition), Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes), Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl), Gregg Bishop (Dance of the Dead), and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (Resolution). That sounds great! Here's the first still from V/H/S Viral, that teases a rather erotic setting for the sequel (via ScreenDaily): As for writing duties, all the directors had a hand in their scripts, but there's also some work from T.J.
