Film enthusiasts and lovers of cinema came together at the 6th Annual Kodak Film Awards honoring Ava DuVernay, Andrew Haigh, Celine Song, Hoyte van Hoytema, Killer Films, Petra Collins, and Amazon’s Swarm. The event took place at the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Clubhouse on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024.
Attendees at the event included Adamma Ebo, Kara Brown, Karen Joseph Adcock, Phoebe Darling, Tyler Shields, Pip White, Matthew J. Lloyd and Keith Davis.

Vachon, who co-founded the independent production company Killer Films alongside Pamela Koffler in 1995, was honored with the Film Production Company of the Year award. Most recently, Killer Films produced two Academy Award-nominated films, Past Lives and May December.

Women in Film (Wif) has unveiled its inaugural fellowship program, TheWrap can reveal exclusively.
This year’s fellowship program, which launched as the organization celebrates its 50th anniversary, recognizes 87 directors, writers, cinematographers, creative or indie producers, line producers, executives, reps, artisans and below-the-line crew members.
Open to women, nonbinary, and trans people across entertainment, the program will bring together the fellows for a year of mentorship from the Wif team, including guest speakers and master classes, networking, field trips and other individualized support.
With mentors from both the business and craft sides of the industry, each fellow will participate in six mentoring sessions with their cohort and mentor team, and will meet with Melissa Verdugo, a former talent manager and current Wif senior manager of career programs, to discuss an individualized plan based on each fellows’ needs.

Exclusive: BAFTA Los Angeles has unveiled the participants for the latest edition of its Newcomers Program, which provides support to emerging international artists and industry professionals.
In 2018 the initiative was opened up to talents beyond the UK, and this year’s crop hail from countries including Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Nigeria, Poland, South Africa and Turkey. Scroll down for the full list.
Since launching in 2007, the initiative has spotlighted the legacy of UK talents moving to the U.S. to expand their knowledge, develop their skills, and expand their network of peers. It includes professional networking opportunities, peer matching with others who have recently moved to the U.S., curated educational programming including BAFTA Briefing sessions, and access to BAFTA’s wider professional development event schedule including the BAFTA Insights series.
