Dean W. Evans was born in Boscombe Hospital on the 2nd April 1986. He grew up in the village town of Burton, Christchurch in Dorset, England.
Dean first wanted to be a Film Director when he read a small booklet on the making of Jurassic Park, which came with the VHS tape in 1994. Dean started making home videos on Super8 videotape in the late 90's, borrowing his father's camcorder to make his action shorts. He also made cardboard sets, masks and small vehicles, and made modest efforts of films throughout his early career from school and throughout Uni. He first learned to edit by using two VHS tape recorders linked up, one with the raw footage and one with the final edit he was creating. He works with his own self-funded budgets ranging from £500 to £5000. He is currently writing his first motion picture.
When he turned 20 in 2006, his short film 'Stones' screened at the Super Shorts Film Festival and he also won an engraved video Ipod, worth £250 at the time. His films have appeared in numerous small indie film festivals worldwide, he had a film premiere which Brockenhurst college students developed, and sold 60 tickets for.
Dean started Videography work in 2009, working on cruise ships, and later travelling across Europe on seven expensive car rallies. He launched his business 'Billion Bites' in 2015, after getting an inheritance from his Nan, He has made hundreds of videos as a freelance filmmaker, and he has funded his own documentaries. His short films range from a children's documentary on world peace, to a series of short films on mental health.
He has a strong interest in Cinematography, Writing fantasy novels for children and teenagers. He often practices meditation and guided shamanic journeying. His debut fantasy novel, is vividly based on his creative childhood, and will be part of a series of nine major high fantasy books in the same vein as Philip Pullman and JK Rowling.
