Lady Gaga’s new concert film Gaga Chromatica Ball has arrived, and to usher in its release, Mother Monster has done what she does best: wear an awesomely weird outfit to the red carpet premiere.
Specifically, Gaga dressed up like a car — err, “car part” — for the Los Angeles premiere of the film on Thursday night. Sharing a photo of the fit on Instagram, she wrote, “On the red carpet I told them it was a car part. They said ‘What kind?’ and I said ‘I don’t know, I’m not a mechanic.’”

When asked to name her organization’s biggest accomplishment so far, Charlene Deleon-Jones, the executive director for Film AlUla, doesn’t hesitate to name-check Norah, the first Saudi film to crack the Cannes lineup. The Tawfik Alzaidi-helmed indie movie, which will compete in the fest’s Un Certain Regard section, was shot in AlUla, the country’s 200,000-year-old “living museum” and first Unesco World Heritage Site, with a crew that was 40 percent Saudi and includes an all-Saudi cast. The latter includes teenager Maria Bahrawi in her debut role as the titular Norah, an orphaned girl who develops a nurturing bond with Nader, an artist and new teacher in her village, played by Saudi actor Yagoub Alfarhan. “That they were able to get to this stage is really impressive,” Deleon-Jones says. “Often, people can be very focused on what is seen as their ‘international piece,’ but what I love is how beautiful Norah is,...

The right costume can evoke emotions and awaken a character in a way that no other part of a film can. And this is why Film AlUla, the Royal Commission for AlUla’s film agency, has just announced that Italian-Japanese artistic and creative director Nicola Formichetti is its new costume mentor for its AlUla Creates initiative.
Developing AlUla as a tourist destination is a mega project for Saudi Arabia, and Film AlUla positions this northwest region in the country as an international filming destination, building it out with facilities and infrastructure for blockbuster film production. The 2023 film Kandahar, featuring Gerard Butler, was filmed in AlUla.
So, tapping Formichetti is a strategic move by Film AlUla, as his accomplishments in fashion have created iconic pop cultural moments in history. It was Formichetti who was behind Lady Gaga’s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards appearance, with her five dress changes in Jean Paul Gaultier...

“This doesn’t feel like a normal fashion event,” Maggie Rogers said after landing in the lobby just before 8 p.m. on Thursday to attend Celine at The Wiltern, Hedi Slimane’s runway presentation for the French fashion house’s winter ’23 collection. “What I’m so excited for tonight is that being at The Wiltern feels incredibly creative and it has the ability to catch someone off guard. That’s when people get creative, when they can sense creativity in the air and be surprised.”
Rogers was right — this was not an average fashion function. From the moment Celine announced it would be presenting in L.A. by taking over the marquee at the iconic venue on the corner of Western and Wilshire, fashion insiders were buzzing about the spectacle to come.

As the crowd of fashion journalists and industry insiders gather for the opening of Thierry Mugler: Couturissime, a retrospective on the great works of Manfred Thierry Mugler at the Brooklyn Museum, it’s apparent that something is missing. “For me, it is quite emotional because it’s the first venue where Monsieur Mugler is not giving his seal of approval,” opens the exhibition curator Thierry-Maxime Loriot. Indeed, Mugler was not only a creative vision but hands-on with everything he approached, and in this vast display of his works, the titan himself was gone.
