Roger R. Ellis, Esq. (aka Mr. E. - [mystery] or just plain 'E') has been a story / script consultant on numerous "A list" Hollywood TV shows / features. ~ References available upon request. *
BIOGRAPHY * Roger R. Ellis (A.K.A. MR. E. or 'E') has worked in Hollywood on both sides of the camera for over 30 years. From pushing brooms to helping close 8 figure deals, E has worked on commercials, TV, and features.
After attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and later studying with Stella Adler and Lucille Ball, E went on to teach acting with Logan & Anne Ramsey and improvisational comedy with Taylor Negron.
E started an improv group at the Comedy Store that Andy Garcia (who worked there) called 'very funny' (Yes, that Andy Garcia. E jokes, "Andy hasn't done comedy since!").
The name of the group: 'Bermuda Schwartz.' Some of the people in E's comedy troupe worked with David & Jerry Zucker on the infamous comedy: "Airplane!"
Working with Robin Williams, Jay Leno, David Letterman, and harassing Chevy Chase, Mr. E. joined SAG/AFTRA and made commercials, television shows and features.
E has worked with a number of Hollywood celebrities on various projects including, but not limited to: Kurt Russell, Barbra Streisand, Don Rickles, Don Knotts, Robert Stack, Henry Winkler, Jennie Garth, Kanye West, and Katy Perry.
E has worked for directors: John Carpenter, Carl Reiner, Don Richardson, Howard Zieff, and Sydney Pollack, to name just a few.
In 1995 E left the creative side of the business for the business side as an entertainment attorney. E secured financing for several features and helped sensitive contract negotiations with talent, agents, managers and studios that would not have been possible without some creative, out of the box thinking. For example, a multi-millionaire wanted to move several million dollars out of South Africa after apartheid fell but the government there had frozen the assets of many who wanted to leave with their millions.
So a feature was shot on location in South Africa putting the client's millions into the production. The government of South Africa was happy and the investor received his millions, plus a nice profit! E was able to turn an "impossible" political and economic situation into a win-win for all.
Roger Ellis has written two novels. AK-239 and PROJECT 252. They are both highly rated on Amazon. Both are available on Amazon and in all fine book stores.
"A good story is much like life; it's not how long your story is that matters but rather how good!" R. Ellis
