Sashani's grand uncle was The Most Honorable, Sir Howard Cook, the Governor-General of Jamaica who was appointed by the queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II.
Sashani was a dancer at the World Cup opening ceremony.
She began her career as a dancer and choreographer and was awarded 3 gold medals in a national hip hop and jazz solo dance competition.
