Mike is an award-winning filmmaker. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and a Diploma in Journalism from
the University of Guelph-Humber and a Graduate Diploma in Television &
Film Production from Sheridan College. Upon graduation of Sheridan College's Advanced Television & Film
diploma program, he was chosen by faculty to receive the 'Panavision
Emerging Filmmaker Award'.
Most recently he was the producer of the short satire "Infanticide!", awarded 'Best Atlantic Short' at the 2013 Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax, NS. The short family drama he produced, "The Rink", played at the 2012 TIFF Kids Film festival in Toronto. He also successfully produced the short bio documentary "Last Music Man" which aired on CBC's "Canadian Reflections" program and screened at the 2011 Austin Film Festival.
At Best Boy Entertainment Mike worked on the Animal Planet Canada's docudrama series "Save My Pet". He lead story research, was the acting Casting Director, worked on-set as Script Supervisor and saw each show through to delivery to the broadcaster in post production. Mike is also one heck of a dad to some very lucky animals.
As an Office Production Assistant at Copperheart Entertainment, Mike worked directly with Academy Award Winning Producer Steve Hoban and Mark Smith on delivering the feature film 388 Arletta Avenue directed by Randall Cole.
Mike was awarded a 'Certificate of Merit' from the Canadian Cinema Editors in 2012 for exceptional editing of the short drama "Asylum".
