A new content initiative will link Astronauts Wanted to a recently-formed network. The digital media company is behind WeGotIssues and For The Win, a pair of new unscripted shows that will both feature YouTube stars as their respective leads and will both be distributed on Verizon’s Go90 app thanks to a partnership with Verizon-owned Complex Networks.
WeGotIssues will star Kingsley, the veteran YouTuber known for his gossipy videos. Together with his “squad,” which will include comedians like Shanna Malcom, Grant Cotter and Steph Simbari, he will comment on and mock recent pop culture events.
In For The Win, Brodie Smith -- who is known for his frisbee trick shots on YouTube -- will travel the country to check out unusual activities like Underwater Hockey and Extreme Unicycling. He’ll then challenge the pros to their own games, so think of the show like a weird, sporting version of Throwdown with Bobby Flay.

Despite serving as two of the YouTube communities most familiar faces, Rhett and Link only release a new video on their main channel about once a month. This causes any new offering from the comedy duo to merit celebration, but their latest video is particularly brilliant. Rhett and Link teamed up with Choice Hotels for "I'm On Vacation", a music video about hitting the beach, working at an ice cream sandwich factory, and the zombie apocalypse. In "I'm On Vacation", Rhett and Link do their best Lonely Island impersonation. Just like in "Spring Break Anthem" or "I'm On A Boat", they wear billowy shirts, don silly sunglasses, and sing a bombastic tune about fun in the sun. The video's sudden, surreal turns also have a Lonely Island-esque feel to them, as do its numerous guest appearances. Shanna Malcolm, for instance, shows up as the duo's overbearing boss. "I'm On Vacation" is branded by Choice Hotels,...

Queen Latifah's refusal to address long-standing rumors about her private life on her highly-anticipated new talk show was debated at length on The Rubin Report this week.
Host Dave Rubin was joined by YouTube's Shanna Malcolm and SiriusXM's Sam Roberts to discuss the issue at length.
Calling Queen Latifah's decision "highly problematic," Malcolm noted, "It's very different when you start out as an Oprah WInfrey, who started out as a reporter...where it's a little bit more detached. [Your guests] should know you, and feel like they can talk to you."
Roberts added, "Why don't we learn from history: it drove Rosie [O'Donnell] insane -- literally insane -- that she had to go on and pretend to be in love with Tom Cruise...and not be herself on The Rosie Show ... People like it when people are being themselves."
