Shelley Sperling
- Actress
- Additional Crew
Shelley Sperling became interested in acting at a young age, and was
often found writing, producing and starring in original home made
videos with her siblings and friends. As Shelley got older, acting
became more than just a hobby, but a passion. She started auditioning
for shows in middle school and landed her first role as a citizen of Oz
in The Wizard of Oz. She became interested in the Peers Influence Peers
Partnership during her sophomore year because she was drawn to helping
others with issues such as domestic abuse, bullying, and alcoholism.
She auditioned for the drama "Through Their Eyes", and was cast as a
principle character Kelly who is in an abusive relationship. Shelley
gained confidence and a greater desire for acting through this
experience. When she was a senior, she was cast in "Fine Lines" as the
lead, Carla Bolden who is addicted to prescription drugs and is the
best friend of Benjamin, a boy with autism. She was also cast as Domina
in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum". When not on stage
or in front of the camera, Shelley enjoys singing, hiking, humans vs.
zombies and writing. She studied theatre and mass communication at SUNY
Oneonta.
