Sam Hughes began studying guitar at the age of five, forming his first
band, Siege with Sean Streets
whilst still in school. At eighteen, he joined the Progressive Metal
outfit Draven on lead guitar but quickly tired of the band's "Dark",
heavy image and they split soon after he left in early 2005. A chance
meeting with another old school friend,
Tommy Stone then led to the formation of the
more Classic Rock- orientated Piranhas, a band that would eventually
evolve into Street Light Fortune. After recording and touring together
for nearly three years, Street Light Fortune split in late 2007 and
Hughes accepted Tris Palumbo's long-
standing offer to join Club Le Shark. After the split of Club Le Shark
in 2009 Hughes concentrated on solo projects until forming Sansara with
Chris Holmes in 2011. He has
also had acting roles in his brother
George Hughes's films
The Mover (2005),
Remnants (2007) and
The 26.2 Pint Marathon (2010)
as well as providing the scores for all three of them.
