Mariah Carey and Miguel scored a nice hit this summer with their “#Beautiful” collaboration. And to help capitalize on its success, they’re releasing it again…in a new Spanglish format.
"#Hermosa” still has the same hashtag and backbeat, but the lyrics got a new tweak. Here, Mimi and Miguel trade Espanol lines and offer direct shout outs to their Latino fans.
Technically a remix, “#Hermosa” is actually the third version of “#Beautiful” to hit iTunes. Earlier in the month, Carey and Miguel released a hip-hop tinged varation with rapper A$AP Rocky.
We actually like “#Hermosa” the best of all three. The Spanish lyrics add a sexy touch and seem to blend well with the powerful guitars. You can hear it for yourself by clicking here.

It may not hold the same weight as the Grammys, but the Billboard Awards still pack a powerful punch in the music biz, particularly because the winners are based on record sales numbers. And last night, tons of heavy hitters were recognized, including the late great Jenni Rivera.
La Diva de la Banda won two posthumous awards last night, including Latin Artist of the Year. Her "La Misma Gran Señora" took home Latin Album of the Year, beating hitmakers like Romeo Santos and Prince Royce.
The other big Hispanic winner was Brazil’s Michel Telo, whose “Hasta Que Salga el Sol” knocked down tracks from Don Omar and Wisin y Yandel for Latin Song of the Year. Unfortunately, fans didn’t get a chance to see Michel perform the song live, but several other Tr3s faves got a moment in the spotlight.

In case you haven’t noticed, graduation season is in full effect. And at age 29, America Ferrera can now proudly say that she’s a USC alum. That’s right, the Ugly Betty vet has earned her bachelor’s degree after 10 years of hard work.
Ferrera started her college studies back in 2002. But TV shows, movies and a busy social life prevented her from finishing in her early 20s. Nevertheless America persisted and after taking individual courses throughout the years, she finally snagged a diploma.
“I’m walking in my college graduation in 3 days from @USCDornsife!” she proudly Tweeted this week. “It’s finally happening! Took me 10 years, but it feels great.”
Ferrera went on to thank a few inspirational professors who helped her along the way. Let’s hope we get a few Twitpix of her decked out in the fancy cap and gown.

Everybody loves a good sports movie. And now it seems, we’ll be getting one about the almighty Leo. That’s right, according to Deadline.com, futbol great Lionel Messi is getting the biopic treatment.
Just 25-years-old, Messi does seem a little young to have his life story told on the screen. But no one can deny his popularity and we’re sure Barcelona fans would eat it up in a heartbeat.
Apparently Epic Pictures bought the rights to Leo’s biography, Messi: The Inside Story Of The Boy Who Became A Legend. And they plan to finance and produce the film, which would put a heavy emphasis on Messi’s upbringing.
Fans of Leo know that he came from blue collar roots in Rosario, Argentina. He also struggled with a growth hormone deficiency as a child. But those who have been following his latest headlines know...

Forget Hollywood and New York, right now the world’s greatest film mecca is Park City, Utah. From now until the end of the month, the city is hosting its annual Sundance Film Festival, which has brought out a host of stars and some very talented Latinos.
One of the most highly-touted movies of the fest is the Oscar-nominated No. This political drama documents the real life ousting of Chilean President Augusto Pinochet and is up for the Academy’s Best Foreign Language Film. Star Gael Garcia Bernal hit the Sundance carpet to promote the flick and strongly encouraged his fans to see it.
“This film talks about getting rid of a dictator or an oppressing government with democratic means,” he told the Sundance crowd. “It’s about a questioning. It’s a strong questioning.”

It’s been a good week for Juanes and Jesse y Joy. Not only did they earn some nominations for this year’s Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, they’re up for some Grammy gold too. Several Tr3s faves scored nods from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, as did mainstream acts like Fun., Frank Ocean and Mumford & Sons.
As far as the Latinos are concerned, El Rockero and J y J picked up the most buzz. They’re both up for Best Latin Pop Album against artists like Fonseca, Kany Garcia and Ricardo Arjona. Romeo Santos earned a nod in the Tropical Album category (which surprisingly omitted Prince Royce’s Phase II).
Elsewhere in the Spanish-speaking world, Ana Tijoux, Campo and Carla Morrison (who just snagged a Latin Grammy) picked up nominations in the Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative category and Gerardo Ortiz has...

What do TV execs do when they run out of ideas for shows? Borrow existing properties from Latin America. This time, they’re “re-imagining” the classic novela Rubi as a brand new series for American primetime.
As you may remember, this formula has been tried many times before. ABC had a hugely successful run with Ugly Betty and several other classics are also being considered for English makeovers.
Rubi was a huge hit back in 2005 and drew nearly eight million viewers for its final episode. According to NBC Latino, the American version will follow the same basic story of a poor woman’s journey to fame and fortune.
Devious Maids producer Michael Garcia will be backing the project and, as of right now, no cast has been announced. Hardcore Rubi fans are already petitioning for original star Barbara Mori to be given a role, which could definitely help stir up the buzz.

The buzz is continuing to build for next week’s Latin Grammys and ChoQuibTown is a top contender. The Colombian hip-hop trio is up for three awards this year and, as member Carlos Valencia told us, they couldn’t be more excited.
"We are so thrilled about all of the nominations we got this year," he said in our exclusive interview. "Just being recognized by the Latin Grammys is one of the biggest thrills of our career!"
And this is hardly the first time that the Latin Grammys have paid attention to ChoQuibTown. Back in 2009 they were nominated as Best New Artist and they won 2010's Best Alternative Song for "De Donde Vengo Yo." This year all of the focus has been on their new album, Eso Es Lo Que Hay.

We’ve all heard the term “no-brainer.” And that’s exactly what applies to Jessica Sanchez’ new gig on Glee. The American Idol runner-up’s got a great stage presence, an incredible voice and perfectly fits the age bracket for McKinley High.
So, Fox executives made a very shrewd move and booked Jessica for a multiple-episode arc on the show. Though details about her character are still under wraps, Glee producer Ryan Murphy sent a Twitter tease about big things to come.
“With voices like Jessica, Lea, Naya, Melissa, Amber, and Jenna…Streisand episode?” he wrote this week.
And don’t think that Ryan is stopping the stunt casting there. Rumors are also circulating that he’s cast legendary songstress Bette Midler for an undsiclosed role.

Despite rumors to the contrary, Sábado Gigante is alive and well. And 50 years in, Don Francisco is ready to bring it to the states. According to the legendary host, Sabado may be getting an English-language makeover in the very near future.
“We are looking into the possibility re-creating the program in English,” Francisco said at a recent New York event. “We are in talks with a producer.”
Don may very well be on to something. In between the heavy dramas and oversaturated sitcoms, one thing American primetime is lacking is a good variety show. And with its dancing girls, colorful games and big prizes, Sábado could provide a very different alternative to Saturday nights.
Francisco certainly seems excited about the idea and he promised his Spanish-speaking fans tons of updates too. According to El Don, Sábado will now have new games and special segments devoted to young couples.

Music lovers in Newark, New Jersey are in for quite a treat this weekend. Not only will they get to enjoy Vicente Fernández perform one of his final concerts, they’ll get a special mariachi duet with Tony Bennett!
The legendary crooners are partnering up for one night only to perform the song “Regresa A Mí” Vicente and Tony previously recorded a studio version of the track for the upcoming Viva Duets album.
But getting the two on stage is sure to be a treat. Bennett and Fernandez performed a Spanish and English interpretation of the song for the Duets album and, if the fans are lucky, they could be singing both versions Sunday night.
And for the rest of us who can’t quite make the journey to Jersey, Viva Duets’ “Regresa” will arrive in stores on October 22. Let’s hope a live version bonus track comes with it.

Amy Winehouse dressed as Frida Kahlo?
Argentinean artist Carolina Gallo created this striking image of the late English singer and song writer dressed as Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, with an emblematic unibrow and slight facial hair. The image closely resembles Kahlo's "Self-portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird." We're not sure exactly what the painting means, but some say the comparison between the two artists is obvious.
Michael Lopez of MTV Tr3s writes, "They were both immensely talented, fiercely original and gone from this world way too soon."
What do you think of the image? Pointless or poignant? Let us know in the comment section below.

Yes we’ve seen glimpses of little Delilah Del Toro before. But this past week, paparazzi cams got their first really clean snap of the 10-month-old tyke. And judging by the pictures we've seen, she's the spitting image of her famous daddy!
Delilah was spotted in the arms of mom Kimberly Stewart on Sunday. The rock n' roll daughter apparently had a day out with actor Scott Caan and decided to bring her little one in tow.
Looking adorable, baby Del Toro was sporting the same hair color, skin tone and facial structure as Benicio. She also seemed to inherit his playful nature, happily grabby mommy's purse and chewing at the edges.
Even Kimberly couldn't deny the physical resemblance, though she did call Delilah a perfect combo.
"She definitely looks like her dad," Stewart recently said. "But she has my legs and eye color."

Gary V. Giordano will remain detained in Aruba. While authorities continue to investigate his suspected involvement in the mysterious disappearance of travel partner Robyn Gardner, Giordano, 50, "will remain in custody for 16 more days," according to a statement released Monday by the Aruba Office of Public Prosecutor. Giordano's lawyer, Michael Lopez, said the 16-day extension was granted because the judge felt, "there are too many open questions as of yet." On Sunday, nearly two weeks after Gardner, 35, went missing, Lopez pleaded for the release of his client, arguing that authorities don't have "hard proof" to believe he was responsible for Gardner's disappearance.

An attorney for Gary V. Giordano pleaded for his client's release on Sunday, nearly two weeks after his travel companion, Robyn Gardner, went missing in Aruba. Giordano, 50, claims Gardner, 35, never returned from a snorkeling trip they took together on Aug. 2. But authorities on the Caribbean island doubt his story and are treating Gardner's disappearance as a mysterious death. They must decide Monday whether to detain Giordano for at least eight more days. But his lawyer, Michael Lopez, says that's not necessary. "Today, nine days later, [after] four voluntary interviews, two site visits, and more than 30 statements coming from different sources, including witnesses and professionals,...
