Adam Anders has been around the block a couple of times. He was the lead executive music producer on Fox’s musical/comedy/drama series “Glee.” He also served as a producer on “The Prom” for director Ryan Murphy that featured Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and James Corden for Netflix. He’s a three-time Grammy nominee who has sold over 100 million records and worked with artists ranging from the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus to Andy Grammer and CeeLo Green. His music has been heard in film productions including “High School Musical,” “The Wedding Planner,” “Captain Underpants” and “Rock of Ages.”
But lately, Anders has been focusing his attention on a different project: “Journey to Bethlehem,” a live-action Christmas musical retelling of the classic story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus that’s currently playing in theaters in limited release this holiday season. Its lone big name is Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas,...

It wasn’t all fun and games on Ryan Murphy’s “The Glee Project”, apparently.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the final episode of the reality show, that aired from 2011 to 2012, contestants have spoken out about their time on the series.
Insider interviewed multiple stars of the show, which was dedicated to finding “Glee”‘s next big star, with season 2 contestant Abraham Lim admitting: “There were so many great elements of the show, but it was also really anxiety-inducing and there was a lot of trauma. Trauma bonds were made.”
Executive producer Shauna Minoprio insisted it was all about who Murphy wanted to write a “Glee” character for.
“What’s interesting about the show is, this was about somebody’s creative vision,” Minoprio told the publication. “It wasn’t about who’s the best singer or dancer. It was about who Ryan Murphy was the most excited to write a character for.

“I’m gonna keep on going toward my dreams with two suitcases in my hands and, like, 20 bucks in my pocket — and I’m gonna make it.” With those inspiring words, the strongest, most consistent contestant on Season 2 of The Glee Project exited the competition in a head-scratching sixth-place finish, and I honestly can’t make any sense of it.

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, here are some queries we’re going to lob at you, from shows including Political Animals, Raw, Fringe, Bunheads and Runway!
1 | If we never again see Political Animals‘ Elaine Barrish boogeying with Garcetti at a rally, it’ll still be too soon, won’t it?
2 | What do you think Breaking Bad‘s Future Walt needs that big ol’ machine gun for?

This was a week for Slushies, shirtlessness and conquering your fears, plus a love that was not to be. Welcome to the week 6 recap of The Glee Project!
Some highlights of this week’s episode, “Fearlessness”
Warning! Spoilers ahead.
Remember last week when Aylin and Charlie halted their budding romance? Yeah, forget that, because this week it was back on. Mentor/casting director Robert Ulrich announces that this week’s theme is fearlessness and advises the contestants not to soil themselves ... at least in my version. This week’s “Homework Assignment” is a performance of “Now That We Found Love” by Heavy D. & The Boyz. Abraham wonders aloud about Asians’ rapping aptitude.
Abraham suggests they begin their performance with some booty moves
Week 5’s guest judge is … Emmy winner Jane Lynch, the one and only Coach Sue Sylvester. The kids erupt in hysterics when she walks in.

Smiling after getting slushied. Being sexy and not knowing it. Making up words to well-known songs right after Ryan Murphy tells you to stop heeding only the sound of your internal drummer. Pushing your body to such extremes that you momentarily lose the ability to breathe.
Three of these four behaviors resulted in a brush with elimination for this week’s contestants on The Glee Project, while the fourth scored herself an enthusiastic round of kudos. And given that the week’s theme was “fearlessness,” you can probably guess who’s who in this equation.

This week was full of surprises, so let’s get right to it …
Some highlights of this week’s episode, “Adaptability”
Warning! Spoilers ahead.
Aylin & Charlie: "Let’s hug it out!"
The week begins with Aylin and Charlie deciding to put their budding flirtation aside and focus on the competition. Good idea when you’re on a televised reality competition. They seal the deal with an awkward brother-sister type hug/shove.
Mentor/casting director Robert Ulrich announces that this week’s theme is adaptability, something a performer on Glee will need in spades.
Michael (center) intends to shine this week
Michael is very excited because he thinks this theme will help him be more spontaneous and stop overthinking his performances. Mario thinks he’ll do well with the theme, while Lily isn’t thrilled about it. Then all of the contestants find out that they have to sing the song solo.

Tyler Ford seemed like a shoe-in to make it to "The Glee Project" Season 2 finale. The 21-year-old was the show's first-ever transgender contestant, and "Glee" mastermind Ryan Murphy was immediately drawn to Ford's charisma and unbreakable spirit.
Unfortunately, during this week's episode, which challenged the "Glee" hopefuls to showcase their sexy sides, Ford just couldn't stand out among his fellow competitors, and for the third time, he was asked to perform in front of Murphy. Despite being praised by "Glee Project" mentors Zach Woodlee and Robert Ulrich for his growth throughout the competition, Ford wasn't on Murphy's call-back list.
HuffPost TV chatted with the recent "Glee Project" castoff about his time on the show, his embarrassing moment in front of "Glee" star Naya Rivera and how he dealt with being told that he wasn't as vocally talented as everyone else.

If you want to succeed on "The Glee Project," (Tuesdays at 10 p.m. Et on Oxygen), you have to be confident in your sexuality, which is why this week's theme sees the contestants channeling their inner Santana for a sultry mash-up of "Milkshake" and "Moves Like Jagger."
The contestants will take tips on bringing sexy back from "Glee's" Naya Rivera and they'll be put through their paces by choreographer Zach Woodlee for a suitably saucy dance routine. HuffPost TV has an exclusive preview of their rehearsal above. As you might expect, a few of the contenders struggle with the challenge more than others ...
The week's theme won't be the only reason temperatures start to rise, since the episode will also see a certain couple growing closer, with their flirtation even coming to the attention of vocal coach Nikki Anders. (Good thing the week's focus isn't on "subtlety.")

After last week’s extreme highs and lows, plus Taryn unexpectedly dropping out of the competition, the contestants get down to serious business ... which means people bursting into tears every 5 minutes.
Some highlights of this week’s episode, “Vulnerability”
Warning! Spoilers ahead.
Vulnerability is announced as this week’s theme. Some contestants, like Abraham and Tyler, are looking forward to showing off their emotional sides, while others—ahem, Michael—are dreading it.
Oh crap! How do I look vulnerable when I’m this good looking?!
This week’s “Homework Assignment” is a group performance of Kelly Clarkson’s pop gem “My Life Would Suck Without You.” After last week’s kerfuffle, Mario doesn’t want to compromise on his song lines again. So Michael generously gives his lines up for Mario, but dude still doesn’t seem happy. Is he becoming just a little bit of a diva? Read on.

The ability to cry on command is an important part of any actor’s arsenal. Still, the Bottom 3 contestants on this week’s Glee Project put on such a display of waterworks during their last-chance performances, I was a little worried Glee‘s executive producer Ryan Murphy and his team of mentors might be swept out to sea, never to resolve the burning question of what the heck Kurt Hummel’s gonna do with his life now that he’s not getting into Nyada.

This week’s installment of The Glee Project found ship’s captain Ryan Murphy asking a question that endlessly plagues judges and fans of reality competition: “Do you cut someone because their attitude sucks?”
And given that we’re only on Episode 2 — where, unless you’re being asked to curl up on a bed of hungry leeches on Fear Factor, one’s attitude should reside somewhere at the corner of Chipper and Grateful — part of me was rooting for Mr. Murphy to answer that quesiton with a resounding “Heck, yeah.”
Luckily for Lily, who’s clearly grown up inside a cocoon of “that was perfection!

The second season of "The Glee Project" kicked off Tuesday night, and country crooner Maxfield had the unfortunate honor of being the first "Glee" hopeful to be eliminated.
The 22-year-old singer/songwriter from Nashville just didn't have enough personality for "Glee" showrunner Ryan Murphy. However, Maxfield says he is still grateful for his "Glee Project" experience -- and at least he got to meet Lea Michele before getting the boot.
HuffPost TV chatted with Maxfield, via phone, about his short-but-sweet "Glee Project" experience, meeting Michele, not knowing Lady Gaga and singing in front of Murphy, who Maxfield says is kind of like "an onion."
It's never easy being the first one to go, but at least you got the added bonus of meeting Lea Michele, right?
She's definitely not the hardest person to look at!

With the end of season 3 of Glee two weeks ago, the summer brings another round of its companion competition series on Oxygen, The Glee Project. “This is an inspiration contest,” Glee creator and competition judge Ryan Murphy tells the hopefuls as season 2 begins.
Who are the 14 contestants vying for next season’s seven-episode Glee arc? There’s Dani, 23; Nellie, 19; Aylin, 19; Ali, 24; Lily Mae, 18; Shanna, 21; Taryn, 22; Tyler, 21; Michael, 18; Maxfield, 22; Mario, 24; Blake, 19; Charlie, 22; and Abraham, 24.
Some highlights of the Premiere episode, “Individuality”

A reality competition + Glee = a super fun summer show known as The Glee Project. That's my kind of math, y'all.
Of the 14 hopefuls who auditioned in Chicago, New York, Nashville and through an online casting process, only one (maybe) will remain standing and that contestant will win a seven-episode arc on Glee Season 4.
Season 2 of the talent search that launched more than one career in its inaugural run begins now!
The format of the show is this: Each week there will be a theme and each week the contestants will work with vocal producer Nikki Anders and choreographer Zach Woodlee to create a music video that will be directed by Erik White. Contestants who do well in the Homework challenge will get the opportunity to work with Glee cast members who will serve as guest mentors. "I've had the immense pleasure of auditioning so many unique and gifted singers, actors and dancers from all over the country" Ulrich says in a statement. "Ultimately, 14 out of thousands were chosen, and I'm so proud of this group of stellar young men and women."
Lea Michele will be the first "Glee" cast member to mentor the competitors in the "Glee Project" Season 2 premiere.

Rejoice wannabe Gleeks, "The Glee Project" is officially coming back for Season 2, giving "Glee" fans a chance to have a multi-episode arc on the hit Fox comedy.
The "Glee" spinoff is already casting after thousands of online auditions and a multi-city casting tour. This season will have 14 final contenders, instead of 12, new themes and all new songs. "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy will return as a judge, along with producer Dante Di Loreto, choreographer Zach Woodlee and vocal coach Nikki Anders.
Last season crowned two winners, Damian McGinty and Samuel Larsen. When asked whether McGinty, who currently stars in the Fox hit as Rory Flanagan and is in talks to remain on the show, would return as a guest mentor for "The Glee Project" Season 2, McGinty replied: "We're having talks ... talks are ongoing. I hope to be back because I feel like last season I had ... whatever the ultimate "Glee Project" experience is,...

Although Oxygen began casting for Season 2 of "The Glee Project" months ago, the network hadn't officially decided whether or not to bring back the reality show for a second summer.
Now, that decision has been made: "The Glee Project" is officially returning for Season 2 during the summer of 2012, Oxygen has announced. One lucky winner (or possibly two, or maybe four, who knows) will win a seven-episode arc on Fox's hit "Glee."
This year, 14 contestants will vie for the ultimate prize. The judging panel will remain in tact, with creator Ryan Murphy, casting director Robert Ulrich, choreographer Zach Woodlee and vocal coach Nikki Anders all returning.
Season 1 winner Damian McGinty is currently filming his tenth "Glee" episode -- so things seem to be going well for him -- while his co-winner Samuel Larsen will begin his arc later in Season 3. Runners-up Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell also won two-episode arcs on the show,...

Oxygen has officially and unspurprisingly renewed The Glee Project for a second season, which will have two additional contestants. Robert Ulrich, Zach Woodlee, Nikki Anders, and (the ever-insufferable but surprisingly tolerable here) Ryan Murphy will all return. The network said in a press release that casting for season two "recently wrapped up" and resulted in "14 contenders -- two more than season one." The competition will air this summer and include "additional themes and all...

Oxygen this morning announced that it has picked up a second season of The Glee Project for a summer premiere. The cable network began casting for Season 2 of the Glee spinoff competition series in September but at the time it stopped short of announcing an official second season renewal of the reality series because its prize is a guest role on Glee and at the time Fox had not picked up the high school dramedy for a fourth season. Five months later, Fox still has not renewed Glee but the network’s entertainment president Kevin Reilly recently spoke enthusiastically about a “cool” next season planned by the show’s creators. A Season 4 pickup for Glee is now considered a formality unless some major ratings calamity happens this spring. Glee executive producers Ryan Murphy and Dante Di Loreto are returning as executive producers of The Glee Project along with Michael Davies...
