Exclusive: Emma Roberts has made another date with Holidate screenwriter Tiffany Paulsen in About Fate. Paulsen will pen script with Marius Weisberg directing. Vincent Newman, Marina Bespalov and Vladimir Koshelev will produce.
The romantic comedy is a tale of two people who believe in love, but seem to never be able to find its true meaning. In a wild twist of events, fate puts each in the other’s path on a stormy New Year’s Eve and comedy and chaos ensue. Roberts‘ leading man is currently being cast.
Roberts and Paulsen also teamed on the Warner Bros feature Nancy Drew when the actress was a teen, and Holidate was a huge hit for Netflix last holiday season. It’s another reunion of sorts as Newman produced the popular comedy We’re the Millers also starring Roberts.

The producers of the film Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For (aka Sin City 2) are suing The Weinstein Company, Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein and David Glasser, alleging the distributors pushed a similar movie during the time they should have promoted the Sin City sequel.
The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges TWC was promoting the sci-fi movie The Giver during the same period as Sin City’s release. TWC allegedly had a financial interest in The Giver, which starred Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep, according to the complaint. TWC also allegedly had promised not to promote another film during the time period it was touting Sin City 2.
Read the court papers here.

Things didn't exactly go too well for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For when it was released in theaters back in August. The movie was largely dumped on by critics (a big contrast compared to the reception of the first movie back in 2005) and then it completely underwhelmed at the box office (another big contrast). And as if that situation wasn't bad enough, now even more is going wrong behind the scenes. Robert Rodriguez and his affiliate companies have filed a lawsuit against the financiers of both Sin City 2 and Machete Kills, claiming that he never received a payment of $7.7 million that was promised to him. The lawsuit has been filed specifically against Sergei Bespalov, Marina Bespalov, Maddartico, Vrelonovama, Aldamisa Entertainment and SC2 Productions, alleging both breach of contract and fraud. Variety notes that part of the claim says that the filmmaker was...
