However, as they begin to die one by one, Archie (Robert Sheehan) realises that they have all become the target of a masked killer. Director/writer: Arjun Rose.
Demons Never Die is a United Kingdom shot slasher that is so very ho-hum. Involving the issue of suicide, this film feels more like a hyper extended music video from first time director Arjun Rose. Detectives are oblivious, blood splatter across multiple walls unbelievably means suicide and characters turn up to a party where a friend has promised a murder spree. Does this film sound dumb? That is because Demons Never Die is a very generic and poorly constructed film.
The story is fairly simple with the first scene involving a crying girl, abortion and a six foot tall killer. She finds herself in a pool of blood and detectives find her and her room covered in gore also. Honestly, the bloodshed is all over the place; yet, the ignorant detectives still put this one down as a suicide. Later, a group of kids form a...

The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn (PG)
(Steven Spielberg, 2011, Us/Nz) Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost. 107 mins.
If you forget Hergé's sacred source material and forgive the occasional creepiness of the animation, there's good fun to be had here. Guided by Spielberg's visual command, it's a boys' adventure with an Indiana Jones/Pirates Of The Caribbean rambunctiousness to it – a fast mix of dazzling action and comedy alcoholism that builds up so much momentum, it barely knows when to stop.
The Help (12A)
(Tate Taylor, 2011, Us) Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard. 146 mins.
The feelgood hit of the Us summer puts a cheery gloss on the civil rights era, as a Mississippi woman scandalously documents the woes of black maids.

New British Horror film Demons Never Die is the directorial debut of Arjun Rose and opens in the UK today.
We spoke to Rose and some of the cast at the HeyUGuys/Who’s Jack night during the London Film Festival and there was a clear sense of pride in what they had achieved as well as an infectious enthusiasm for the film.
Earlier this week I spent a lovely evening catching up with Arjun Rose at the Swanky Soho House and discussed how it feels to have directed his first film, the actors involved and his future aspirations.
Movie Synopsis:
Stylish teen slasher film Demons Never Die follows eight very different London students with one deadly secret: they have all made a pact to end their lives together. However, a mysterious masked killer emerges from the shadows to grant their death-wish in more terrifying fashion than they could ever have imagined.

This genre-bending debut is part emo love story, part urban flick, part slasher
City trader turned director Arjun Rose hedges his bets with his genre-bending debut: part bleeding heart emo love story; part urban Brit flick; part high school slasher. It's a bit like being in a room with a group of stoned people at a YouTube party, replaying the best bits of their favourite movies. Executive produced by Idris Elba, with a last-minute name change from Suicide Kids, this stars a cast of Hollyoaks, Misfits and Kidulthood alumni – a likable bunch but a smidge perky as depressed sixth formers who've signed up to the world's most clueless suicide pact ("What about hanging… from trees and that?"). Just as they're about to follow through – oh, the irony – along comes a knife-wielding psychopath picking them off one by one. The police think they've got a spate of copycat suicides on their hands.

He pitched it as a sort of "UK slasher", so it's a twist on the usual American flavour. Especially since, here, the victims had already made a suicide pact with one another - but find life worth living when a slasher killer appears to hurry them along. This video features Chloe Moretz, who isn't in the film but who is a big fan of Bromfield. …But some people are about to!
Sex, murder, accents… That pretty much sums up Demons Never Die, a UK film directed by Arjun Rose and produced by Idris Elba (The Wire, 28 Weeks Later).

From the title, I expected this to be some sort of demonic possession flick. Imagine my debilitating disappointment when I discovered it’s just another one of those suicide pact slasher flicks. Yawn. Truth be told, writer/director Arjun Rose’s “Demons Never Die” doesn’t look that bad, though it wasn’t what I was expecting. After all, with a title like that, you really don’t expect to see a movie centered around a bunch of depressed teenagers with suicidal tendencies. I’m just saying. Here’s what the flick is about: When Amber (Contostavlos) takes her own life, Archie Eden (Sheehan) and seven other depressed London teenagers decide to follow her lead and create a suicide pact. As the group begins to die one by one, Archie realises they have all become the target of a masked killer and that his own commitment to death has become...

I love slasher films and those in the genre that have been birthed in the U.K. are so few and far between that I can’t help but feel like I should back them as much as I can. This Halloween’s hack and slash release is Demons Never Die, an admittedly straight-to-video sounding title that features an eclectic cast that includes next X-Factor judge Tulisa (in her first film role), Misfit’s Robert Sheehan, Radio 1 DJ Reggie Yates and Hollyoaks star Emma Rigby!
From first time writer/director Arjun Rose, the film (previously titled Suicide Kids) is produced by Idris Elba and will open nationwide on October 28th from Exile, carrying the plot;

It’s X-Factor mania here as the new judges (well except Louis) get to judging the singing and screeching and wailing…and so on. Besides doing the X-Factor, N-Dubz front lady, Tulisa is also starring in Demons Never Die. Starring alongside Tulisa is Robert Sheehan (Misfits), Reggie Yates (Radio 1) and Emma Rigby among others. The film follows a group of misfits who come together in an unlikely friendship group, forming a suicide pact over the internet, who are eventually singled out and murdered by a masked killer. It’s directed by Arjun Rose and executive produced by Iris Elba (Luther, The Wire). Demons Never Die releases nationwide on October 28th. And here is the poster, which has a rather gritty, almost Noel Clarke vibe. Trailer down below as well.

The HeyUGuys team were lucky enough to spend Thursday evening in the deepest, darkest bowels of the Soho Hotel to grab a first viewing of the official trailer for Brit horror Demons Never Die.
Produced by Idris Elba, in his new career role as movie big cheese, the flick is written and directed by Arjun Rose, popping his movie cherry with what he describes as “a UK slasher first and foremost”. Something that we’d wholeheartedly agree with. Starring Rob Sheehan (Misfits), Ashley Walters (Anuvahood), Jack Doolan (Cemetary Junction) and a wealth of young British talent, the film cuts another notch in to the blood spattered bedposts of the teen-slasher genre.
The trailer teased at a dry, tongue-in-cheek approach but really failed to actually set the pulses racing. Seeimingly predictable and unoriginal, Demons Never Die could well pass the world by without so much as a nod of acknowledgement. That...

He’s played good guys (Luther), bad guys (Stringer Bell) and guys who guard things (Thor’s Heimdall). Now Idris Elba is playing what we’re calling “the money guy” as executive-producer of new Brit horror Demons Never Die. He, and Demons’ director Arjun Rose, rocked up at Big Screen to talk about their new horror. “It’s a UK slasher first and foremost,” explained Rose. “It’s in an urban setting but with kids from different worlds. It’s quite stylised: a ‘neo-noir slasher’.”Elba said that once Rose had approached him with the script at Takers’ premiere, he’d leapt at the chance to spread his wings. “It’s a great opportinity for me to do things other than what people expect me of as an actor… plus Arjun had a great sob story.” “And no shoes on,” joked Rose. Was there talk of Elba appearing on the other side of the camera,...

From a press release I just received…
Idris Elba will be reteaming with his Suicide Kids director Arjun Rose (Elba is one of the feature film’s producers, which is scheduled for a June 10th UK release), for Rose’ next film titled Swift, with Idris in a starring role.
He’s reportedly signed on to play a character named Max, said to be “a disgraced sports agent…“ with a “… last chance for success and redemption.”
Swift is described briefly as “a coming of age story set in East London during the run up to the London Olympics.” Further… the synopsis reads: After witnessing the murder of his father as a child in a drug related shooting, Corey Johnson or “Swift” as he is known on the streets of East London, is destined for a life of crime…. That is until a chance meeting with Max (Idris Elba) a troubled, washed-up...

Okay, so let me get this straight. Actor Idris Elba, who you'll know if you watched HBO's The Wire, is producing a teen thriller called Suicide Kids about a group of kids who decide to form a suicide pact and then realize that they are Also getting murdered by a serial killer which gives them the will to live. What? I mean, I know I have to see the flick to know how it all plays out, but two things jump out at me on this one. First, if they were already planning to kill themselves then who cares if killer does the job instead? And second, what are the chances? But if Elba is involved I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
Synopsis:
When a young girl [Amber] takes her own life, her friend Archie Eden and seven other London teenagers decide to follow her lead and create a suicide pact.

But, this is not Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen and the first clip, while obtuse, shows one character preparing for butchery. All the details on Suicide Kids are inside.

Despite loosing his Alex Cross role to Hollywood titan Tyler Perry, Idris Elba is still a busy man.

In addition to that, he’s not only executive producing the web series Milk & Honey –which we told you about here–but also the British horror flick Suicide Kids.
