The show, Miami River Cops (working title), is based on the life of former police officer Victor Zapata.
It will follow Zapata as a young Latin street cop, examining his encounters with drug dealers, racist commanders and his own corrupt motivations. Ultimately, it will watch as he and his closest friends are transformed from cops to criminals while chasing the American dream in 1980s Miami.
The series is being scripted by James Dilapo and Sebastian Gutierrez. Canton and Perez will exec produce, alongside Dorothy Canton, Gil Bellows, Emil Pinnock and Matthew Einstein.
Miami River Cops is the first project to emerge from a 50-50 partnership deal Perez recently entered into with Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment. We hear that Perez already is slated to produce a number...

Stars: Scott Adkins, Mario Van Peebles, Karlee Perez, Steven Elder, Matthew Garbacz | Written by Richard Lowry | Directed by Isaac Florentine
Let’s get this out of the way first… Seized contains three things I love in my action movies 1) Scott Adkins kicking, punching and shooting his way through the film; 2) Isaac Florentine in the directors chair; and 3) An unexpectedly awesome turn from Mario Van Peebles!
If I have said it once I have said it a million times! I am a sucker for a Scott Adkins movie. I mean how the hell could you not be? He is a super awesome Brit who is super awesome at the punches and kicks. The good thing is you rarely have to wait long for your next fix because Adkins is a workhorse and likes to keep himself busy. Add in the fact this is an Issac Florentine movie and these guys have...

"There are no good people in there - no saints, only sinners." Lionsgate has released an official trailer for an action thriller titled Seized, the latest from B-movie action filmmaker Isaac Florentine (who also made Acts of Vengeance with Adkins). Mma action star Scott Adkins plays a former Special Forces agent whose son is kidnapped and must now wipe out three dangerous crime syndicates if he wants to see him alive again. Adkins has been starring in endless action movies recently, none of them worth watching, but he still keeps making them - he's also in Debt Collectors and Legacy of Lies this year. Seized also features Mario Van Peebles with a killer cowboy hat, Steven Elder, Karlee Perez, James P. Bennett, David Fernandez Jr., Luis Gatica, and Mauricio Mendoza. Another day, another mindless bland action movie to ignore. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Isaac Florentine's Seized, direct from...

You have to credit anyone who can get the production of a film off the ground. It’s hard work, I know that – the amount of films we report on, or have knowledge about (thanks to eager directors getting in touch) that never get past the announcement stage is astonishing. So to actually put a film together, to organise a shoot, and to get it out there in front of an audience is commendable.
Only sometimes people need to be told when they should stop. It’s one thing to make a movie but it’s another to actually make a watchable movie. Unfortunately Rogue Cell – notwithstanding its Amazing concept – is not a watchable movie,...

The sultry and seductive Catrina no doubt made a solid impression as one of the breakout stars of season one of Lucha Underground. Now the venomous vixen is ready to pick up where she left off when the show returns Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 8/7Ct on El Rey Network. World Wrestling Entertainment officials are currently looking for a new Latin female star to be a face of the company, reports the Wrestling Observer. They are looking for somebody with sex appeal and Spanish speaking skills, and for someone who can be front and centre in helping to expand WWE’s Latin audience.
It’s a no brainer for WWE to want to get a Latin star since that’s a big percentage of the fanbase, especially in the Us. They had a popular Latin diva in Melina Perez in the mid to late 2000s, but she’s been out of the company for about five years and they need a new star. Lucha Underground
What’s interesting about this is that Lucha Underground has two Latin female stars in Catrina (Karlee Perez) and Ivelisse, both of whom worked for WWE. When Catrina was in WWE she was...
