In the run up to Annecy festival, Netflix has unveiled a powerful slate of talent-driven animated films and series, including “That Christmas” based on BAFTA winner Richard Curtis’s children’s books, and “Ember,” Sergio Pablos’ follow-up to the Oscar-nominated “Klaus.”
Netflix’s roster of animated features also boasts the musical “Scrooge: A Christmas Carol” which features songs by Leslie Bricusse; an untitled animated film by Steve Box, the Oscar-winning “Wallace & Gromit” alumni. Netflix has also boarded new original series productions including “Bad Dinosaurs” from Snafu Pictures and Able & Baker; “Mermaid Magic” from Rainbow, “The Seven Bears” from Folivari, as well as “Wereworld” which is based on the series of fantasy novels by Curtis Jobling and is produced by from Lime Pictures.

Exclusive: Netflix has cancelled YA skating drama Zero Chill after one series.
The 10-parter from All3Media-owned Lime Pictures, which has also produced three series of Netflix YA drama Free Rein and is behind upcoming Netflix non-scripted format Dance Monsters, dropped on the platform in March 2021, having been filmed in Sheffield, UK.
A Lime spokeswoman said: “There are currently no plans for a second series of Zero Chill. We are very proud of the show we made and its global success. Sheffield was a wonderful place to film in and we hope to return to the city with future projects.”
The series followed 15-year-old figure skater Kayla, whose life was up-ended from Canada to the UK when her twin brother received a place at a legendary hockey academy. Distraught at her parents’ decision to put her brother’s ambitions before her own, Kayla found her place on the ice again...

The Svod service has commissioned Zero Chill from All3Media-backed Lime Pictures.

Minnie The Minx, the classic British comic book character, is to get her first starring TV role after Beano Studios teamed up with British production company Lime Pictures to develop a live-action comedy drama.
Minnie, whose real name is Hermione Makepeace, was one of the key characters in the Beano comic books, which starred Dennis The Menace, and first appeared in 1953.
Beano Studios and All3Media-backed Lime, which is behind Netflix’s teen horse drama Free Rein, are developing The Magnificent Misadventures of Minnie, aimed at kids aged between 8 and 12. The scripts are being developed by Julie Bower, creator of Cbbc’s So Awkward and writer on Disney’s Evermore Chronicles and Danger Mouse writer Danielle Ward.
It will feature the rebellious 13-year old heroine, a budding comic book artist herself, who together with her best friends Becky and Same tackle the trudgery of school and leave a trail of chaos in their wake.

The Disney Channel has announced that it will produce a 22-part series of The Evermoor Chronicles, a live-action drama about a teenage girl who moves from the Us to start a new life in the spooky Evermoor Manor.
The four episode miniseries Evermoor, proved to be a ratings hit when it launched on Disney Channel UK last October. The four-parter attracted over 1.6 million viewers, making it Disney Channel UK’s second highest rated series.
Naomi Sequeira, a Disney Channel Australia graduate, will return as lead character Tara Crossley and the series, which explores “themes of teen friendship, family and romance, against the backdrop of a strange and mysterious world”, will continue to follow her adventures and her search to uncover the mysteries of the founding Everines. The series will feature characters from the first series, which included Georgia Locke, Jordan Loughran, George Sear and Finney Cassidy, as well as introduce...
