The largest Jewish cultural event in Washington is back for its 24th year. The annual Washington Jewish Film Festival (Wjff) has just announced the lineup for the 11-day event (February 27th to March 9th). A total of 64 films will be featured from 18 countries and 40 filmmakers. Highlights of the event include John Turturro (with new film "Fading Gigolo"), Avi Nesher (introducing "Turn Left at the End of the World"), controversial Polish cinema, discussion panels, a surprise film screening, films fresh off the festival circuit, and contenders for the Best Foreign Language Film category. The festival will host an expected 10,000+ guests and several events as well, including a U Street bar crawl featuring short films, a lounge and hag-out-with-filmmakers opportunity, a Snuggle With The Stars Oscars party, and free daily talks with filmmakers at the Library of Congress.
