A good movie monster never stays down for very long, and Art the Clown is set to return for another blood-soaked killing spree a little earlier than expected.
Despite being "killed" in extremely gruesome fashion at the end of both previous movies, the seemingly immortal murderer will dust himself off and get back to doing what he does best in Damien Leone's Terrifier 3, and we have a new look at the sadistic mime in a first official promo image.
In addition, Deadline has announced that the horror threequel has moved its release date forward by two weeks, and will now arrive in theaters on October 11.
“We’re so excited to bring the next Terrifier to theaters this fall just in time for the Halloween season,” said franchise producer Phil Falcone. “Terrifier 3 will deliver everything the fans expect and more with Art the Clown taking things to the next level.

Popcorn buckets are all the rage right now with several sparking controversy, including this gem for Dune: Part Two. Studios continue to push the envelope with rumors that the bucket for Deadpool & Wolverine will be nothing short of “intentionally crude and lewd,” teased Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. But what about horror?
Horror fans hope to see a Terrifier popcorn bucket available in theaters nationwide when Terrifier 3 releases this fall. Over the weekend, a hardcore fan launched a petition to raise awareness for a potential Terrifier 3 popcorn bucket. I immediately fantasized about eating pink popcorn out of Art the Clown’s head.
What would you want to see out of a Terrifier popcorn bucket? Damien Leone and Phil Falcone’s third film is Christmas-themed so I’m sure there’s no shortage of cool ideas.

Writer/director Damien Leone had a budget of around $55,000 to work with on his breakout horror film Terrifier, and a budget of “a little over” $250,000 for Terrifier 2, which was a massive hit when it was released last year, earning $15.1 million at the box office. The release of the second film went so well, it’s no surprise to hear (via Variety) that the companies behind these movies – Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting – are re-teaming with the distribution banner Iconic Events Releasing for the theatrical release of Terrifier 3 on October 25th. While Variety was reporting on the theatrical distribution, the film’s star Lauren Lavera was taking to social media to share a picture that was taken of her on the set of Terrifier 3. I’m thirty-plus entries into Revenge of the Remakes and have finally reached an original/remake pair where neither is American. Vincenzo Natali’s Cube (1997) is a maple-scented product of Canada’s independent filmmaking scene, while Yasuhiko Shimizu’s 2021 remake hails from Japan. You’re free of rants about stale Americanizations and Hollywood’s sometimes shortsighted approach to horror remakes. Welcome to a wholly international edition of my column that’s, in comparison, outside the box. I’m honestly surprised Japan beat us to a Cube remake in a post-Platinum Dunes world — although Bloody Disgusting’s Brad Miska reported Lionsgate was taking new Cube pitches as of May 2022. Don’t be surprised if a domestic project surfaces soon.
It’s a tale of two geometrical prisons influenced by cultural horror norms. Natali aligns with genre-bending Canadian minds like David Cronenberg, whereas Shimizu leans toward more operatic and soapy Japanese storytelling.

Headed down the chimney next Halloween season is Damien Leone’s hotly-anticipated Terrifier 3, and we’re thrilled to report that Lauren Lavera has officially signed on!
Cineverse, in partnership with Bloody Disgusting, announced today that Lauren Lavera will officially return in the unrated mega-slasher Terrifier 3, reprising her role as Sienna.
Her compelling performance resonated far and wide as the breakout star of the ultra-gory Terrifier 2, solidifying her status as a rising star in the horror realm. Lavera won over fans and critics worldwide who embraced her as the next Final Girl and Sienna costumes were seen all over conventions and Halloween events this year.
Now, as the story unfolds in Creator Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3, Lavera is back to lead you through your deepest nightmares when Art the Clown unleashes chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.

Variety reports that our friends at Cineverse’s Bloody Disgusting are expanding their multimedia horror brand with a new publishing imprint called Bloody Press – and among the first projects on the Bloody Press agenda are novelizations of the films Terrifier, Terrifier 2, and Terrifier 3. The Cineverse Podcast Network, which has a Bloody FM podcast banner, will also be launching a new podcast that’s dedicated to the Terrifier franchise.
Beyond the realm of Art the Clown, Cineverse will also be producing a new scripted audio series called Dead Space: Deep Cover, “which will follow a journalist searching for her missing sister who joined a Unitologist church.” That show is a collaboration with Electronic Arts.
Bloody Press will be publishing the Terrifier 2 novelization first – which makes sense, because the movie was a massive hit when it was released last year, earning $15.1 million at the box office on a budget of $250,000. Written by Tim Waggoner,...

Watch out, Jigsaw — “Terrifier 3” is arriving next year just in time for the holidays.
Which holiday, you ask? Well, Oct. 25, 2024, makes “Terrifier 3” a Halloween treat, so while the film takes place over Christmas, a “The Nightmare Before Christmas”-esque holiday crossover is in store.
Regardless, Art the Clown will return, courtesy of Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting, and unleash yet more unrated carnage on the unsuspecting townsfolk of Miles County on Christmas Eve.
The latest Damien Leone-directed installment will open two years after “Terrifier 2” took theaters by storm. The family-unfriendly slasher, filled with ultraviolence and running a whopping 138 minutes, played in wide theatrical release, legging out for a month after an $805,000 opening weekend (in 770 theaters) toward an $11 million domestic cumulative. Its weekend performance would peak over Halloween weekend with $1.9 million in 1,550 theaters.
That was a higher total than the 2022 Oscar season likes of “Tar,” “She Said” and “The Banshees of Inisherin.

But the party kicks off right now with a very special Ama with Terrifier + Terrifier 2 star David Howard Thornton – better known as Art the Clown – that’s taking place as we speak. Click here to jump right into the Ama!
In addition, on opening night, the first 100 fans at each theater will receive an exclusive Terrifier 3 poster. As quantities are extremely limited, the team behind Terrifier recommends that you get to the theater early. Tickets are on sale now wherever movie tickets are sold – Fandango,...

Every year, the Kailey Marsh-fronted BloodList makes waves in the industry as it reveals several high-profile horror screenplays that are available in the market. This year, due in part to the strikes, there won’t be a 15th edition, but we still wanted to celebrate the annual list and look back at some of the monstrous success stories.
“While we aren’t releasing the 15th edition in 2023, due in part to the WGA strike and the timeline to when we would accept submissions, it’s a good time to look back at the scripts and writers that have been featured on the list over the years,” Kailey tells us via release.
“From Dan Erickson, creator of the hit series “Severance”, thanking BloodList in his acceptance speech at the Hca’s for “best series writing”, to having countless writers tell me how much landing on the BloodList has done for their careers,...

Terrifier 2 – which was a massive hit when it was released last year, earning $15.1 million at the box office on a budget of $250,000 – will be getting a theatrical re-release on November 1st – and when the movie returns to the big screen, it’s going to be accompanied by a teaser for the upcoming sequel Terrifier 3. The first 100 fans at each theatre will also receive an exclusive Terrifier 3 poster… and with those materials arriving at participating theatres now, an image of the poster has leaked online, revealing that the sequel is going to be set on Christmas!

The 1986 rock ‘n roll horror film Trick or Treat, one of my all-time favorite movies, is getting a Blu-ray and 4K Uhd release (and possibly a new DVD release) from Synapse Films. We’re still waiting to hear a release date for that, as obviously the company wasn’t able to meet the hoped-for October release window – but while we wait for the special physical media release, Trick or Treat is set to making its streaming debut on the Screambox service this Friday, October 27th! Just in time for Halloween viewing!
Directed by Charles Martin Smith from a screenplay by Rhet Topham, Joel Soisson, and Michael S. Murphey (with an uncredited polish from the Final Destination duo of James Wong and Glen Morgan), Trick or Treat has the following synopsis: This mesmerizing horror adventure takes you into the terrifying dark side of rock’n’roll. Marc Price (Family Ties) stars as Eddie Weinbauer,...

What are you afraid of? It’s only rock ‘n roll. Decades before Michael Dougherty released Trick ‘r Treat there was Trick or Treat, a 1986 horror movie directed by Charles Martin Smith that introduced the world to undead rocker Sammi Curr. The cult classic has Never Before been available to stream, but Bloody Disgusting is changing that this Halloween.
Cineverse is giving horror fans a whole new reason to scream this spooky season, as they announce the acquisition of the 1986 horror classic Trick or Treat from Red Shirt Pictures/Synapse Films. The company will premiere Trick or Treat just in time for Halloween weekend exclusively on Screambox. The film begins streaming this Friday, October 27!
This will be the first time the new restoration from Synapse Films has Ever been seen, and it’s also the first time the movie has Ever made its way onto a streaming service.

Bloody Disgusting and Screambox are bringing Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls to theaters this week – the gateway horror film channels the spirit of feel-good 1980s films like Beetlejuice, Ernest Scared Stupid, and Pee-wee’s Big Adventure!
The buzzed-about horror-comedy Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls will be released exclusively in theaters for a one-night event on October 19, via Fathom Events. The film will show at 7:00pm & 10:00pm (local times) in theaters throughout the country, and fans will be treated to a special introduction from writer/director/star Andrew Bowser ahead of the film.
In the film, Onyx the Fortuitous is struggling to find purpose with his soul-devouring side gig when he receives a coveted invitation to the mansion of his idol, Bartok the Great. Here, he joins Bartok and his mysterious delegation to raise the spirit of an ancient demon for a once-in-a-lifetime ritual.

After a trip to theaters last month, Bloody Disgusting and Screambox‘s summer camp-themed horror-comedy Shaky Shivers is now streaming on Screambox and VOD platforms.
Fast & Furious actor Sung Kang makes his directorial debut on the creature feature that features stand-out performances from newcomers Brooke Markham and Vyvy Nguyen, as well as practical effects from Gabe Bartalos.
In Shaky Shivers…
“After finding herself bitten by a mysterious animal, Lucy becomes convinced that she will transform into a fearsome werewolf.
“Joined by her best friend Karen, the two embark on a wild adventure filled with magic and mayhem, as they look to do battle with a throat-slashing creature ripped right out of an 80s horror movie.“
Shaky Shivers is written by Andrew McAllister and Aaron Strongoni.
“The whole idea was to make this for the old-school horror hounds and for them to share it with their families today,” said Kang.
