On May 30th, “America’s Got Talent” returned with the spectacular two-hour premiere of its 18th season. Speaking with “Extra” earlier that day, judge Heidi Klum described the fans as the best out there and Howie Mandel noted, “The world is hungry to see what’s next.” Host Terry Crews welcomed them back to the show alongside Simon Cowell and Sofia Vergara, with performances from the first set of auditions.

The Season 18 premiere of “America’s Got Talent” aired Tuesday, May 30 on NBC, with returning judges Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell all back at the panel to discover fresh talent. The first act to take the stage this summer was Trex Flips, who came out dressed in a cheap-looking dinosaur costume. Sofia had an instant negative reaction to seeing the goofy contestant, even asking aloud, “Is it bad that I already want to say no?” Watch the video above.
When Trex Flips said that he’d be “a little sad” to get an immediate no, the judge replied, “I’m not gonna say it right now. I’m gonna let you do your thing. But I have a feeling.” The crowd chuckled in response. Obviously the show’s producers wanted the audience to think this act was just another Sethward, but that was far from the truth.

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” continued Monday, February 6 with the sixth and final set of 10 performances from some of the most beloved acts in “Got Talent” history. In previous installments, two acts advanced to The Finals per episode, but this week there was only one spot up for grabs. That decision came down to the superfans who chose singer Kodi Lee as the 11th all-star finalist.
Kodi’s selection meant that the nine other performers were eliminated from the competition. In a recent poll, we asked “Who was wrongfully eliminated on February 6?” and though “AGT” fans were split between two top choices, spoken word poet Brandon Leake came out on top as the artist most deserving of a spot in The Finals with 26 of the vote. Just behind him was comedian Josh Blue with 25 and singer Daneliya Tuleshova next with 18.

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” aired its sixth episode Monday night with 10 more acts performing for a coveted spot in The Finals. The new spin-off series features former “Got Talent” contestants from America and beyond, competing in a seven-week showdown to determine which ultimate all-star will claim the title of “Got Talent World Champion.” Longtime series judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum return to the judges’ panel with Terry Crews on stage for hosting duties.
In the first of these first rounds, only two acts from each episode will advance to The Finals. One will be hand-selected by one of the judges via the Golden Buzzer and the other is voted through by a collection of superfans from across the country. With no Golden Buzzers left in this episode, that left one spot in the finale, which went to Kodi Lee. Yes, you read that correctly, only one act advanced.

One of the most popular “America’s Got Talent” winners of all time, Kodi Lee, now has a chance of taking home a second trophy, and it’s all thanks to the superfans. Monday night on “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars,” the singing superstar (who was born blind and autistic), took the stage and belted out the song “Biblical.” After his performance, he got a chance to speak directly to the superfans and he told them, “Help me change the world.” Well, that’s exactly what they did.
Kodi earned the most votes from the superfans, so he immediately advanced to the finale. The runner-up was spoken word artist Brandon Leake, while the third place vote-getter was comedian Josh Blue — both were eliminated. The other contestants who competed this week were singer Daneliya Tuleshova, magician Eric Chien, chorale group Voices of Hope Children’s Choir, dog act Lukas & Falco, sword swallower Brett Loudermilk,...

The sixth episode of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” is scheduled for Monday, February 6 on NBC, with the last group of 10 acts (out of 60 total acts) taking the stage to try to earn their spot in the Finals. One such act will be Sethward, a novelty comedian who always dresses up in extravagant animal costumes. While “AGT” judges Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum love Sethward’s originality, Simon Cowell is definitively not a fan. In other words, get ready for classic grumpy Simon to make an appearance.
“Number one, I don’t like him,” the British judge recently declared in a promo video. “Secondly, he’s not a fan favorite.” Hmm, where do You stand on the Sethward debate, “AGT” fans? Let us know down in the comments section.

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” continued Monday, January 30 with the fifth set of 10 performances from some of the most beloved acts in “Got Talent” history. Two more acts advanced to The Finals based on those initial performances: Tom Ball received the Group Golden Buzzer and Ana-Maria Mărgean was voted through by a secret group of superfans. They join Aidan McCann and Power Duo from January 23, Mike E. Winfield and Avery Dixon from the January 16 installment, Detroit Youth Choir and Aidan Bryant from the January 9 episode, and Light Balance Kids and Bello Sisters from the January 2 premiere. Monday’s results left eight all-star acts on the cutting room floor without a chance to be named “Got Talent World Champion.”
We asked “Who was wrongfully eliminated on January 30?” and “AGT” fans thought the superfans should have finally sent a singer through — 27 of voting fans believe Mandy Harvey was deserving of a spot in The Finals.

And just like that, Aidan Bryant is headed to his second consecutive “America’s Got Talent” finale. During the January 9 episode of “AGT: All-Stars,” the 18-year-old aerialist earned enough votes from the superfans to advance to the Finals, beating out, among others, magician Dustin Tavella, who previously beat Aidan during the Season 16 finale. The only other “All-Star” act from this week to advance to the Finals was Detroit Youth Choir, who earned Terry Crews‘ Golden Buzzer.
When host Terry Crews announced the results of the superfan vote, it was Aidan that finished at the top of the leaderboard. The Top 3 was rounded out by beatboxer & flautist Divyansh & Manuraj in second place and ballerina Vitoria Bueno in third place. Shockingly, Dustin didn’t hear his name called at all, which meant he placed between fourth and ninth in the superfan vote.

Over the first two weeks of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars,” the superfans had the option of voting for people who’d already won various “Got Talent” shows around the world, or branching out and anointing other talented acts. So far, they’ve chosen to snub former winners. Champions like Terry Fator (“AGT” Season 2) and Dustin Tavella (“AGT” Season 16) failed to earn enough votes from the superans to advance to the Finals, so they were eliminated from the competition (barring any future wild card save). What does this mean for upcoming fan-fave contestants like Kodi Lee and Brandon Leake, who won their original “AGT” seasons?
In Week 1 (which aired January 2), the two winners competing were singer Jeanick Fournier from “Canada’s Got Talent” Season 2 and ventriloquist Terry Fator from “America’s Got Talent” Season 2. After light-up dance group Light Balance Kids earned Howie Mandel‘s Golden Buzzer, the superfans voted for their Top 3 acts of the night.

The first episode of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” left the judges gobsmacked when the results of the superfan vote were revealed. Instead of fan-favorite ventriloquist Terry Fator advancing to the finale, he was eliminated in favor of acrobats Bello Sister. “I would have never guessed that,” Howie Mandel told fellow “AGT: All-Stars” judges Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum after the winning results were announced on the January 2 premiere.

Night 8 of auditions on “America’s Got Talent” season 17 continued on July 26 with another slate of audition performances from acts vying for this year’s 1 million prize. [Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for America’s Got Talent Season 17 Episode 8.] America’s Got Talent Season 17 returned with a new group of memorable auditions this week. And if anything sticks in viewers’ minds from this episode, it’ll be the performers who are unapologetically themselves. There was a self-described “sideshow freak” sword-swallower who Howie Mandel called the “Beetlejuice of side shows,” a singer who lives her life as a fairy, and more. The high-stake stunts were in large supply in Episode 8, which also marked the return of Sethward. In his third appearance on the show, the comedian disguised himself as a big, red apple and delivered some cringeworthy standup comedy. When he got four rejections from Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofía Vergara, and Simon Cowell, he crawled out of the apple’s mouth dressed as a worm, revealing his identity to the cheering crowd. The rest was pure chaos. Here, we break down some of the stand out ...

47% — Beyond Belief Dance Company
24% — Gangstagrass
21% — The Canine Stars
5% — Sethward
3% — Matt Johnson

America’s Got Talent made its first round of Season 16 live cuts on Wednesday, sending a handful of hopeful acts packing.
These results came on the heels of Tuesday’s first live episode, which featured several memorable performances from people we thought were frontrunners. Highlights included singer Peter Rosalita stunning viewers with a powerful rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” comedian Kabir Singh sharing embarrassing texts from his mom, and escape artist Matt Johnson narrowly cheating death (again) by barely avoiding a chainsaw to the face.

Sofia Vergara made Jimmie Herrod a household name when she pushed her Golden Buzzer for him during the audition phase of “America’s Got Talent.” Now that the live shows have begun, the powerhouse singer seems to have a new cheerleader in the form of Heidi Klum. After Jimmie’s live performance of “Pure Imagination” from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” Heidi called him a “million dollar act.” Talk about a huge vote of confidence! All four judges — Heidi, Sofia, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell — gave Jimmie a standing ovation, signalling their unanimous approval. Watch the “AGT” audition video above.
In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper John Benutty had this to say about the performance: “For the final performance of the night, Sofia’s Golden Buzzer choice Jimmie Herrod came to the stage for his version of ‘Pure Imagination’ by Gene Wilder. Like his audition of ‘Tomorrow,’ the song was pure Broadway styling,...

After 16 seasons, “America’s Got Talent” is still discovering fresh acts that have never been seen before on the big stage, including Alex Ostrovsky in the July 6 episode. The man shocked the crowd by playing trumpets to Whitney Houston‘s “Greatest Love Of All” and then sending them off into the air. The winged trumpets flew around in circles as he continued playing the classic tune while rolling on skates. Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel both loved the variety act and gave it “yes” votes, but Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara hated it and slammed their hands on their red X’s.

In a rare occurrence for America’s Got Talent, the NBC competition returned on Tuesday with the exact same line-up of judges that it left us with last season.
Fortunately, the Season 16 premiere still mixed things up by opening the show with an insanely meta dog act. Not only did The Canine Stars give us dog versions of each judge (including Bow-wowie Mandel and Simon Howl), but the group also managed to unlock one of my more disturbing childhood memories of those creepy Sesame Street sketches — you know, the ones where the dogs had human bodies and did people stuff?
