Luke Johnson is an Emmy nominated Producer and Network Executive at BYUtv who oversees both scripted and unscripted series from development through post-production. In partnership with the BBC his scripted work includes Malory Towers (2020), which has received four Emmy nominations, and A Kind of Spark (2023), which has received an Emmy nomination and has been celebrated for neurodivergent individuals making up fifty percent of the cast and crew. He has produced thousands of hours of television for TLC, History Channel, Discovery Channel, BYUtv, HGTV, Oxygen, and more.
Luke has a younger brother named David who has Down syndrome. At the start of Luke's career in entertainment he promised David that he would help him become a movie star. In 2022, Luke launched DavidMovieStar.com to raise awareness and funds for a feature film starring his brother David, promoting the message of inclusion and authentic disability representation.
In 2006, Luke created one of the first viral videos on YouTube called "The Luke Johnson Phone Experiment", where he invited the whole world to call his cell phone. This led to perpetual calls from around the globe, interviews on NPR, The Today Show, and The Rachael Ray Show, and spokesperson offers from wireless providers.
