After leaving the boyband Menudo, Martin got an opportunity to star in the musical comedy Mamá Ama el Rock in Mexico City. The singer would then be offered a role in the TelevisaUnivision telenovela Alcanzar Una Estrella II, where he played a member of a pop band. Following the success of the series, Martin would also star in a film based on the show.
