Bill Murray gets in uniform and returns to the Ghostbusters franchise as Peter Venkman. In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, premiering March 22, new and old ghost hunters join forces to save the world from a second Ice Age.
Piecing together flashbacks from the original 1984 film and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the trailer follows the Spengler Family as they team up with the original gang to bust ghostly creatures as the city freezes over.
“Heads up. Tall, dark, and horny at 12 o’clock,” Murray says when met with a towering, glowy-eyed beast. The trailer concludes with slimy,...

Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and now Annie Potts are suiting up in the latest trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, helping the Spengler family stop something strange in New York.
The latest trailer for the Gil Kenan-directed sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife features new and more extensive footage of the surviving original Ghostbusters and their secretary Janine Melnitz as they face off against an entity trying to freeze the city straight into a second Ice Age.
The film sees the original team develop a top-secret research lab to take ghostbusting to the next level, but the discovery of an artifact upends their work when it unleashes an evil force. They’ll have to face it — and enemies of the human kind, like Walter Peck (William Atherton), the Ghostbusters‘ longtime nemesis.
In the new trailer, he declares he’s “been waiting 40 years” to declare “the Ghostbusters are finished.”
“They call themselves Ghostsbusters.

If there’s something strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? Bill Murray, who suits back up as Peter Venkman in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” out March 22.
Murray isn’t the only franchise favorite to return for the chilly sequel, which sees the Big Apple covered in ice after an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force. His fellow original Ghostbusters — Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts — are back for “Frozen Empire,” and so is Slimer, aka “The Mean Green Ghost,” who returns with a vengeance.
According to the sequel’s logline, “Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.” The movie, which follows up 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” also stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim.

Columbia Pictures’ Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has pushed up its release date by one week, from March 29 to March 22, 2024, Sony announced on Tuesday.
The move positions the film to capitalize on another week of spring break viewership in a fairly open window, opening against Lionsgate’s Mark Wahlberg adventure pic Arthur the King and Focus Features’ The American Society of Magical Negroes, among other titles.
Set to screen in IMAX and premium large formats, the latest picture in the storied Ghostbusters franchise watches as the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

It sounds almost too good to be true, but assuming that things keep according to schedule, fans from all over will be watching Ghostbusters 3 in a little more than a year. It’s hard to believe things have progressed this quickly, and it was only a few months ago that Sony Pictures released a brief teaser to hype everyone up. Of course, longtime devotees have been eagerly awaiting the next entry in the franchise (one which continues the ongoing story), and now, they’ll be able to relive the glory days of the ’80s, thanks to a limited edition re-release of the first two films.

Do you remember that very odd moment in a montage in the middle of Ghostbusters where it appears that Dan Ackroyd is having some kind of sexual encounter with a ghost floating above his bed? It’s been raising eyebrows ever since the film’s release, with fans of the movie poring over old scripts to try and figure out what it was intended for.
Now known as the “Fort Detmerring Ghost,” the scene consists of Ray and Winston investigating a haunting at an old military fort. Ray ends up trying on an old officer’s uniform, before a ghost appears and uh… well. Let’s just say “bustin’ makes you feel good.”
Long considered lost on the cutting room floor, the footage has now been located and is coming to a new Steelbook 4K/Blu-ray release, together with a plethora of neat special features.

Ivan Reitman just issued an official statement via Eric Reich, who handles publicity for The Montecito Picture Company, Reitman's company. It's very pointed, and I think there's a rock solid reason for him to make the statement right now. Here it is, exactly as it was sent over. "There has been a lot of excitement recently about what is happening with the Ghostbusters franchise. As the producer of the new Ghostbusters film, I feel the need to clarify. There is only one new Ghostbusters movie and that is the Paul Feig directed version coming next July, presently filming and going fantastically. The rest is just noise." First, what I see here above anything else is a producer standing behind his director. He is right. Paul Feig is the only person making a "Ghostbusters" movie right now. The more I see from Feig's film, the more I'm excited to see how it all comes together.
