Dwayne Johnson re-teams with San Andreas director Brad Peyton for this hugely entertaining creature feature, based on the fondly remembered 1986 video game. It’s big dumb fun of the highest order and you know what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Rampage begins in space, where a secret lab has exploded, following an incident with a giant rat. When three cannisters of a genetic editing serum called Crispr fall to Earth, they end up infecting George, a friendly albino gorilla who just happens to be best friends with Davis Okoye (Johnson), a primatologist with a special forces background. Overnight, George triples in size and begins behaving aggressively, which leads to his capture by a government...

Primatologist Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

Warner Brothers has released a promo for Rampage, starring Dwayne Johnson‘s muscles. The film is directed by Brad Peyton, with a screenplay by Ryan Engle and Carlton Cuse & Ryan J. Condal and Adam Sztykiel (that’s a mouthful) from a story by Ryan Engle, which based on the video game Rampage. This new promo does feature a few new bits of monster-on-monster action, but it’s pretty much attempting to use Johnson as the major selling point in this seemingly final trailer for the film. Even though Rampage recently saw it’s release date move forward a week in response to Infinity War doing the same, the film still seems poised to enjoy two weeks atop the box office.
What impresses me the most about this promo is that while cheeky at times, it serves to establish the tone of the film very well, especially when you include the self-shot footage by Johnson.

The massive monsters from Midway's video game franchise will be stomping into theaters one week early in the Us.
Directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas) and starring Dwayne Johnson, Rampage is now slated for an April 13th release from Warner Bros., bumping it up from its April 20th release, likely to give it more time in theaters before Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War comes into theaters a week earlier than expected on April 27th. News of the release date change comes from multiple sources, including Box Officie Mojo.

"This movie will excite more than just the kaiju fans." Warner Bros Japan has released an official Japanese trailer for the upcoming video game adaptation Rampage, starring the always-badass Dwayne Johnson. We recently posted the second official Us trailer for this action movie just last week, but it's cool to see the new Japanese trailer, which comes with a fun intro from Johnson talking about kaiju (seriously). The title in Japanese is actually Rampage: Big Big Brawl, and I like that this trailer is only 60 seconds of pure action non-stop from start to finish. Short and sweet, gets right to it. The full cast of Rampage includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Naomie Harris, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, Joey Thurmond, and P.J. Byrne. There's not much of a plot to talk about, because it's mostly just about giant monsters smashing up a city and humans trying to stop them.

Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for ‘Rampage‘, starring Dwayne Johnson. The film reunites Johnson with ‘San Andreas‘ director Brad Peyton, and seems pretty much in line with that film. If you’re into Dwayne Johnson standing against computer-generated cityscapes watching giant computer-generated monsters fight, then ‘Rampage‘ is definately for you. Although this trailer does a better job of selling the tone than the first, i’m still hesitant to think that this will be anything more than schlock popcorn cinema at it’s finest. At least the film seems to be having a fun time, but who knows?
Either way you slice it, Peyton directs from a screenplay by Ryan Engle and Carlton Cuse & Ryan J. Condal and Adam Sztykiel, story by Ryan Engle, based on the video game Rampage. Further solidifying himself as one of the most bankable men in all of Hollywood, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returns with Rampage, a big screen adaptation of the classic arcade game that’s seen a few sequels in the time since its original release. Granted, it’ll see some stiff competition in a year chock full of other blockbusters, but it does look like a lot of fun and stands a very good chance of attracting a fair amount of moviegoers.

"We've created the next chapter in natural selection." Warner Bros has unleashed the second official trailer for Brad Peyton's adaptation of the video game Rampage, starring Dwayne Johnson as a primatologist and friend of a giant ape. We posted the first trailer late last year, now we finally have the new trailer with some extra footage of the giant monsters that terrorize the city. Rampage is a live-action version of the 80's video game about apes and monsters destroying buildings - which is all it really is about. From the director of San Andreas and Incarnate, the cast of Rampage includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Naomie Harris, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, Joey Thurmond, and P.J. Byrne. This still looks way too much like a wannabe Pacific Rim movie, but without any of the giant robots. As much as we all love Dwayne Johnson (right?...

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has come up against some pretty formidable threats in his cinematic career – corrupt secret agents, Vin Diesel and the script for Baywatch…to name but three.
But in April, the former WWE megastar will be left facing an apocalyptic scenario like no other, as New Line’s Rampage is about to pummel its way into theaters. Loosely inspired by Midway’s arcade classic of the same name, the story of Rampage follows three super-sized creatures who wage war in Chicago, leaving Johnson’s primatologist Davis Okoye with little choice but to gear up and save the gorilla he once knew as George.
There is one possible snag, though; thanks to the genetic engineering conducted by the Griffin Technologies Group, George is now the size of a building, which ought to result in some pretty incredible spectacle when projected onto the silver screen.
And that’s something...

"Is it me, or is he considerably bigger?" With the big games this weekend, Warner Bros revealed a new TV spot for Rampage, the live-action version of the 80's video game about apes and monsters destroying city buildings. It's just a 60-second spot but it contains a bit of new footage not seen in the first trailer for this. From the director of San Andreas and Incarnate, Rampage follows a primatologist named Davis Okoye, played by Dwayne Johnson, who shares a bond with the big white ape George. Suddenly something weird causes him to start growing. Also starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Naomie Harris, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, Joey Thurmond, and P.J. Byrne. This reminds me of Pacific Rim, but it doesn't look very good, though maybe it will be fun. Maybe? Here's the latest extended TV spot for Brad Peyton's Rampage,...

Tomb Raider isn’t the only video game adaptation coming down the pipeline this year. Rampage, which is based on Midway’s arcade classic, has officially set up shop at New Line and will star Dwayne Johnson as a primatologist named Davis Okoye, “a man who keeps people at a distance and shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth.”
Indeed, George is one of three animals to be grossly mutated as a result of a genetic experiment gone horribly, horribly wrong. A lizard and wolf are also in line to become hulking rage monsters, for those keeping track, and it seems that Johnson’s Okoye will have his hands full dealing with them all.
Or at least, that’s what this latest trailer teases. Though not terribly long, it promises a showdown between “big” and “bigger” as we...

Global megastar Dwayne Johnson headlines the action adventure Rampage, directed by Brad Peyton.
Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth.
Rampage opens in theaters beginning April 20, 2018.

"Oh, what, you didn't know about the 30 foot wolf?" Warner Bros has launched the first official trailer for Rampage, the live-action version of the classic 1980s video game about apes and monsters destroying city buildings. Yeah, they actually went and made this. Can you believe it?! Rampage the movie, get out of town! From the director of San Andreas and Incarnate, Rampage follows a primatologist named Davis Okoye, played by Dwayne Johnson, who shares a bond with the big white ape George. Suddenly something weird causes him to start growing in size fast. The full cast includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Naomie Harris, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, Joey Thurmond, and P.J. Byrne. You shouldn't be surprised to hear that this looks fun, but it also looks like CGI mania. Yes, there is building smashing. I prefer this Dwayne Johnson over the one in Jumanji any day.

The first trailer for Dwayne Johnson's big screen adaptation of Rampage has been unleashed and the movie actually looks like it's going to be a blast! The movie isn't going to win any awards or anything, but I liked what I saw in the trailer and I think fans of the classic game might like what they see. It's pretty much the game in big-budget movie form. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm excited to see the movie.

Since 1986, video gamers have been destroying cities on the screen with Midway's lovable massive monsters known as George, Lizzie, and Ralphie. In New Line Cinema's new movie Rampage, we'll see that world of colossal creatures brought to life on the big screen, and the first trailer for the film promises plenty of large-scale action with Dwayne Johnson on the front lines of the creature-centric carnage.
Directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas), Rampage is slated for an April 20th, 2018 release from Warner Bros. Check out the new trailer and poster below, and let us know what you think of the video game franchise being adapted for the big screen.

Proving that cool guys don’t look at explosions, or twisted wrecks of metal that appear to be the aftermath of a colossal monster attack, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has taken to social media to share the latest photo from the set of New Line’s Rampage movie.
Coming to us by way of Screen Rant, the pic arrived bearing the caption: “We have a problem. The beasts survived.” Note that that’s ‘beasts’ plural, and we know from previous story-related reveals that Brad Peyton’s monster movie will feature three primary creatures: a wolf, an alligator, and an albino gorilla called George that have all been mutated beyond recognition by the nefarious suits at the Griffin Technologies Group.
Leave it to primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), then, to save the world from plunging into chaos. Over the years, he’s developed a close bond with George in particular – industry veteran...

If there’s one complaint that’s often leveled at Hollywood creature features, it’s that the subgenre tends to pay so much attention to jaw-dropping visual effects that the human characters – shallow, thinly-drawn human characters at that – are subsequently swept aside in the name of spectacle.
From Godzilla to Pacific Rim, you don’t have to look too far to locate an example of a western monster movie told through the lens of a forgettable lead, and though Paramount’s Baywatch flop stands as living proof that Dwayne Johnson is not, in fact, critically bulletproof, many are already looking to New Line’s Rampage adaptation in the hope of an entertaining, yet compelling creature feature.

The theaters these days are filled with re-makes, live adaptations of classic animated films and video game adaptations. The next one on the list going into production is the classic video game Rampage, by Bally Midway who sold the rights to Warner Bros. Pictures. This game was released in 1986 in which players controlled one of three giant monsters and attempted to destroy a city before they were taken out by military forces. When we first learned about the project there was one actor confirmed for the film, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. As of today we have a lot more information.
Over the weekend Johnson posted some an image of himself working out and gave us a little bit of information about the film. Yesterday, also through Instagram he took a photo with actor Jason Liles in a motion caption suite, who will be playing George, an albino gorilla. He goes...

With the exception of 2015, when the only high-profile creature feature to claw its way out of Hollywood arrived in the form of Krampus, over the past few years moviegoers have been treated to a fairly diverse melange of monster movies. From the fantastical Pacific Rim to Gareth Edwards’ dark, brooding Godzilla reboot, the silver screen has played host to an array of jaw-dropping creatures, and that trend continued just recently thanks to the launch of Kong: Skull Island.
Indeed, Legendary’s MonsterVerse is currently housing another two in-development creature features in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and 2020’s Godzilla Vs. Kong – the event film to end all event films – but there’s another big-budget monster flick gestating in Hollywood, and its name is Rampage.

Some new details have surfaced for Dwayne Johnson's new film project Rampage and they actually give us some story info. Up until this point, we've only had the plot of the classic Midway video game to go off of, which follows three people who are transformed into giant monsters that include a gorilla, a wolf, and a Godzilla-like lizard. Together they will wreak havoc on North American cities and landmarks and Johnson is the only person that can stop them.
The new plot details that have been revealed come from Splash Report, and they offer us a different take on the story as well as give us some new info regarding the characters that the actors play in the film. Some of those other actors include Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, and Naomi Harris. Here's what the site says:
"The first privately owned space station is destroyed by a mysterious experiment done onboard.

While we are most definitely in the age of superhero films, there’s little denying that we’re also in a budding age of kaiju and video game films. On the kaiju side of things, Kong: Skull Island only came out a few weeks back, and it was the second film in its buildup to a Kong v Godzilla flick. Additionally, Pacific Rim: Uprising has just finished its production. On the video game side of things, despite Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed’s failing to hit the mainstream in a big way, we still have the likes of Tomb Raider and the Castlevania TV show on the horizon.
But what if we could have the best of both worlds? That’s where Rampage comes in. This was a video game back in 1980s, though most fans probably most remember it its 1997 sequel, Rampage World Tour. The game allowed you to play as a Godzilla-type kaiju,...

The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the latest cast member to jump on board Dwayne Johnson's feature film adaptation of the classic video game Rampage.
Morgan is said to play a character named Agent Russell, "who works for a covert government division called Oga and rolls with serious swagger and attitude." This seems like a character he can have fun with. Morgan is oozing with swagger and attitude. Jeffrey Dean Morgan may have his hands full trying to rule over post-apocalyptic communities as Negan on The Walking Dead, but that isn't stopping the actor from staying busy on the big screen, too, as he's now joined Dwayne Johnson in New Line Cinema's movie adaptation of the 1980s video game Rampage.

From Walkers to grossly mutated creatures, Deadline brings word that Jeffrey Dean Morgan has signed on for Rampage, New Line and Brad Peyton’s tentpole that’s on course to storm into theaters in April of next year.

Billions actress Malin Akerman may unleash a hoard of skyscraping monsters in Rampage, the New Line video game movie hailing from San Andreas dream team Brad Peyton and Dwayne Johnson.
Negotiations between actress and studio are ongoing, according to The Hollywood Reporter, but we understand New Line is courting Akerman for the movie’s power-mongering villainess, a “calculating head of a tech company that is behind the monsters.” Those creatures – one gorilla, one crocodile and a wolf – are the grossly mutated results of a lab experiment gone awry, and when the fate of the world hangs in the balance, Dwayne Johnson’s musclebound zoologist steps in to rectify the situation with the help of an all-star cast.
Assuming Malin Akerman closes a deal to join Rampage, she’ll cap off an ensemble comprised of Naomie Harris, The Batman‘s Joe Manganiello, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, P.J. Byrne and Breanne Hill.

If Rampage lay dormant at New Line throughout the course of 2016, over the past few weeks we’ve witnessed the studio’s high-profile creature feature slowly begin to make the formative steps toward development.
Skyfall and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End star Naomie Harris was the first new recruit to climb on board – she’ll play a talented geneticist with an unflinching moral code, for those keeping track – before New Line earmarked roles for both Joe Manganiello (The Batman) and Marley Shelton.
