La Roux says her voice has changed for the band's second album. Flame haired singer Elly Jackson is giving up her trademark high pitched vocals for the group's next record, and said the sound she and collaborator Ben Langmaid have been coming up with marks a shift from their self titled debut.
"Some of the new stuff I've played for people, everyone's like, 'Wow, this sounds really different,' " Elly said. "My voice has changed as well. There's only one track so far that's got a higher vocal on it, like on the majority of the first record. All of the other tracks I've written I've found this deeper area of my voice, it's got more of a Stevie Nicks tone to it."
The "In for the Kill" singer also acknowledges they have a lot of pressure to live up to follow up the group's well received debut album, but...

La Roux have just debuted another version of "In for the Kill" music video. While the previous clip sees Elly Jackson driving down a dark road, this new one features "a healthy dose of high-heeled ladies, slithering snakes and, not surprisingly, gallons of hair spray."
Featured in an episode of "Entourage", "In for the Kill" is taken from the duo's 2009 self-titled album "La Roux". In a radio interview, Jackson said the song is "about telling someone how you feel regardless of what you get back, and not waiting to find out if they want you or not."
La Roux are preparing to make a sophomore set. Last month, Jackson apologized to fans for making them wait so long for the band's second album, promising she and Ben Langmaid are getting together to pen some new tracks.

La Roux singer Elly Jackson has admitted that she has grown tired of talking about herself. The 'In For The Kill' star, who formed La Roux with producer Ben Langmaid in 2006, revealed that she is going on a family holiday to get away from the group. "When I go away I'm going to try not to think about La Roux because it's become this thing where you meet up with your friends to have a normal evening and all you talk about is La Roux. I actually just want La Roux to f**k off!" The 21-year-old, who is the daughter of The Bill actress (more)...

On the surface, the video for British electro-pop group La Roux's "I'm Not Your Toy" looks effortless and sleek. It features one particular, transfixing shot: Singer Elly Jackson emerges from beneath a pool of water while creating only the slightest of ripples.
But behind the scenes, things were a bit more complicated. The Woodie Award-nominated Jackson recently sat down with MTV's Adam Murphy to dish about what really took place during the shoot.
The video's director asked her to hold her breath for as long as she could before slowly and steadily coming to the surface. But once she was under, all she heard were shouts, first from the director and then from everyone else at the shoot to "go down." Jackson, who was trying her best to tread water, had no idea what they meant, since she was already fully submerged — or so she thought.
