The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the finest superhero franchises out there, and while The Dark Knight Rises did close the book on Christian Bale’s Batman, screenwriter Jonathan Nolan would eagerly return for more.
Jonathan Nolan, who co-wrote both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, was asked by Showsha if he’d like to return to the Batman franchise. “Wouldn’t that be a dream?” Nolan said. “That period was 10 years of my life [from] when I got the call to work on Batman Begins, and it was epic. Working with Christian [Bale], Heath [Ledger], Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and to honor an American icon. If I had the chance to go back and work on that again? Absolutely.“
Getting that bang back together would be a tall order, as Nolan admitted, “We’ve moved onto other things,” and “other people have picked up the mantel and moved on with those characters.

"Fallout" is the smash success Amazon Studios has been waiting for. The show, based on the popular video game series of the same name, has become one of the biggest hits to date on Prime Video. Amazon has revealed that the series is now the second-most-watched show in the history of the streaming service, trailing only the mega-budgeted "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power."
According to Variety, "Fallout" was streamed by 65 million viewers during its first 16 days of release. Amazon made the choice to release the entire first season all at once on April 10. That's closer to the traditional Netflix binge model, rather than the week-to-week episode model that Prime Video has employed in recent years. That may have attracted more viewership in the early going, and that makes the show one of Prime Video's biggest hits ever out of the gate. As such, it's not surprising that...

As far as comic book adaptations go, most objective commentators and critics will agree that there is nothing better, overall than Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, which adapted the character of Batman and his world. Starring Christian Bale in the main role, the trilogy is lauded by critics and fans as well for having elevated the comic book movie to a completely new level, combining the fantasy of these worlds with the realism of our own world in the best way possible. Jonathan Nolan, Christopher’s brother, also contributed to the series as a screenwriter and in a recent interview, he confirmed that he would love to go back to that world at one point.
Jonathan Nolan is Christopher’s frequent collaborator and is credited as the co-writer of The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, alongside Christopher. Both brothers have since moved on from comic book adaptations,...

Amazon’s Prime Video is cooking after the launch of Fallout, a comedic sci-fi series based on the best-selling Bethesda video game series. After the monumental success of HBO’s The Last of Us, audiences wondered when the subsequent must-see video game adaptation would arrive. According to Prime Video’s numbers, Fallout is the cat’s pajamas, with 65 million viewers in its first 16 days of release. If these mind-blowing numbers are correct, Fallout is the streamer’s second most-watched title after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
While Prime Video crows about Fallout’s much-deserved popularity, they say it’s the most-watched show ever among adults 18-34, with 60% of the show’s audience coming from overseas. Fallout has become one of Prime Video’s biggest series ever — according to Prime Video.
The well-reviewed show, based on the video game franchise of the same name, has become the second-most-watched title ever on the Amazon streaming service over its first 16 days of release, the company says. Prime Video says 65 million viewers worldwide have watched at least some of Fallout since its April 10 premiere, putting the show behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in the streamer’s catalog.
Global audiences have powered a majority of that viewing: More than 60 percent of Fallout’s audience is outside the United States. The (limited) data from Amazon jibes with that from outside sources like Samba TV, Luminate and Reelgood, all of which have tracked a strong start for the series (Nielsen’s streaming data lags by several weeks).

Video-game adaptations are going next level. Amazon says “Fallout” is off to the second-best start for any series on Prime Video ever.
More than 65 million people watched “Fallout” in its first 16 days on the streaming service, per a Prime Video rep. Amazon says that’s second only to the 16-day debut window for “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” back in 2022. Amazon also says “Fallout” is the number 1 title globally on Prime Video in that span, it’s hit number 1 in 170 countries, and more than 60 percent of its audience has come internationally. People in the UK, France, and Brazil especially love it.
The streamer claimed back in 2022 that the debut episode of “Rings of Power” was watched by 25 million people in just 24 hours and by 100 million people overall, but never reported specific figures for a 16-day window. But how many kept watching? A report said only 37 percent of...

“Fallout” is proving to be far from a (nuclear) bomb for Amazon’s Prime Video.
According to the streamer, the series pulled in 65 million viewers in its first 16 days of availability, with the first season dropping in its entirety on April 10. That makes it the second most-watched title ever on the platform and the most-watched title since the debut on “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” back in 2022.
Amazon also says the show is its most-watched ever among adults 18-34, with 60% of the show’s audience coming from outside the United States. In particular, the UK, France, and Brazil have all proven to be hubs for the show’s popularity. It should be noted, however, that Amazon has not released any data on how viewers are counted, especially when it comes to completion of the show. Is there any current director who is more controversial than Zack Snyder? It’s wild how divisive a figure he is, with his fans nearly cult-like in their devotion, while his detractors are just as fervent. Here at JoBlo, we’ve always been ardent supporters, even if we haven’t unquestioningly praised all of his films. Thus, we thought it would be interesting to do an all-around ranking of his films (although we’ve left the animated Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole off the list). So, without further ado, here’s our ranking from worst to best.
Sucker Punch:
I’ll admit to not knowing precisely what Snyder was trying to pull off when I saw this movie in 2011. It remains the most obscure of his live-action films. It is a tough nut to crack, being that it’s a fantastical, hyper-surrealistic fantasy centred around a woman...

Exploring Lucy’s Fateful Actions in Fallout’s Finale Ella Purnell, known for her role as Lucy in the popular Fallout TV series, had quite the dramatic ending in the first season. One notable moment reshaped her character dramatically. Discussing this pivot, Purnell mentioned, it didn’t feel right initially, leading to a significant modification of the finale scenes. This adjustment aimed to portray Lucy as a changed woman, who by her own hands must confront her altered fate. What Awaits in the Wasteland Lucy’s Journey Forward The actress shared deeper insights into her character’s development and what she anticipates moving forward. Purnell

Prime Video’s Fallout TV show follows four main characters, but it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that fans are mostly focused on two.
The Ghoul’s enigmatic nature expectedly draws attention of both fictional characters and viewers, and Lucy’s oh-so-familiar journey from the safety of the Vault into the unforgiving Wastelands captivates the audiences new and old alike.

Lucy’s Season 1 Finale Was Overwhelming
Throughout Fallout Season 1, we as the audience got to know and love Lucy for her optimism, her ability to put one foot ahead of the other no matter the circumstances. She was a fighter and a beam of light in the otherwise hopeless Wasteland, someone who could never give up, break down, and abandon her vision of herself.

Now seems to be a perfect time to start pondering over what future will hold for Fallout’s second season. The show debuted on Amazon Prime earlier this month and was very quick to sweep everyone away leaving the creators no choice but to renew the hit series for another season.
While we’re still quite far away from Fallout’s season 2, the show’s cast has already made the first predictions for their characters’ fate — but one of the main actors’ wishes seem pretty much unfeasible.
While talking to GQ recently, Ella Purnell, who got to portray Lucy MacLean, reflected on her character’s possible future in Fallout’s season 2.
The actress revealed that what she wishes for Lucy mainly boils down to her still being funny because “that’s really fun to do” while also seeing the character as someone who “form some opinions that feel truly and wholly hers,...

The overwhelming praise for Prime Video's Fallout has demonstrated that inspired and absurd video game shows can appeal to modern audiences.
While we're accustomed darker and more serious adaptations, Fallout proves there is room on the schedule for many thematic differences from the gaming world to move to TV. But not all attempts are equal.
Many video game adaptations come across as dark and grim as the show creators try to make their show seem edgy and aggressive, even if the game itself was not.
Sometimes, that backfires on them. But how did that become the prevailing tone in the first place?
We can look at Halo as an example. The Paramount+ series tried to bring a more serious note when all the fans really wanted to see was The Masterchief beat the covenant -- without ever seeing his face. Tying a leading man to the helmet, though, was a giveaway that change was ahead.

This post contains spoilers for "Fallout" season 1.
In its first season, Prime Video's adaptation of the hugely popular video game series "Fallout" follows several heroes and villains who are still working to understand what's real in their worlds. Walton Goggins' movie star character, Cooper Howard, slowly comes to realize that America is making up an apocalypse to sell back to itself, while Brotherhood of Steel squire Maximus quickly learns that the powerful men he idolized as a kid aren't all they're cracked up to be. It's Ella Purnell's Vault-dweller Lucy, though, who gets the biggest reality check when she leaves her underground dwelling to explore a ruthless world with no place for the chipper sense of entitlement she was taught to convey.
Given the themes of the series, it's fitting that it's just as hard to tell what's real and what's not behind-the-scenes of "Fallout" as it is in front of the camera.

Several characters die during Fallout's ending, but the fate of Aaron Moten's Maximus is a little more complicated.
Moten's character in the hit Amazon Prime Video series (based on Bethesda's beloved video game franchise) is a member of the clandestine Knights of the Round Table-esque faction known as the Brotherhood of Steel.
After being left in the wasteland with nothing but a suit of hulking Power Armor, Maximus crosses paths with Ella Purnell's Lucy, arriving with Purnell's happy-go-lucky vault dweller at what used to be LA's Griffith Observatory for the blood-soaked proceedings of the series finale.

Without adapting the games’ characters and stories, the show has successfully inculcated the Fallout universe events in the show. With the show renewed for another season, fans are excited about what more would the show be serving next.

Now over 200 years after that war, one young Vault Dweller will risk it all and travel to the surface.

Jonathan Nolan’s Fallout adaptation is a success for many reasons, the least of all being its unique sense of identity separate from the games despite being true to the source material in every respect. It is this individuality of the Amazon original series that allows some room for creative liberty while Nolan and his writers’ room build a megalomaniacal post-apocalyptic world spread over the vast wasteland of America.

The Season 1 finale of Prime Video’s “Fallout” left audiences with many unanswered questions around the scientist-turned-New California Republic leader Lee Moldaver, such as how she survived the nuclear apocalypse and her relationship to Lucy’s mother, Rose MacLean.
Sarita Choudhury, who portrays Moldaver, revealed that she “knows enough” about the answers to these questions, but remained tight-lipped.
“I was told enough to play each scene,” she told TheWrap in a recent interview. “When I had the first meeting, I was told a lot, and then as we were shooting… It was so coveted, this information, and the writers are so brilliant, they’re so caring. They wanted to give us everything, but at the same time, they couldn’t give everything. So I know more than you do, but I don’t know as much as them.”

It’s official: The sci-fi action-comedy Fallout will return for a second season.
Prime Video renewed the series based on the popular Bethesda Softworks game franchise and adapated by showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner and produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. The show has given the streamer a welcome buzzy boost, premiering to some of Prime Video’s best reviews ever, averaging a 94 percent average positive critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. The streamer also says the show is among its top three titles to date (though per usual, it didn’t back that up with any hard data).
“Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have captivated the world with this ground-breaking, wild ride of a show. The bar was high for lovers of this iconic video game and so far we seem to have exceeded their expectations, while bringing in millions of new fans to the franchise,” Amazon MGM...

The Fallout games and TV series on Prime Video are full of vile and hideous creatures that fill the wasteland.
With Feral Ghouls, Mirelurks, Radscorpions, and Deathclaws roaming the wasteland, you may be surprised to hear that the vilest antagonist of the Fallout series is actually none of them.
This vile villain that is yet to be introduced formally is part of a "superhuman' race of humans called the Super Mutants. These vile and grotesque beings plague the wasteland, all because of our favorite little company.
Why?
Vault-Tec decided to experiment with the residents of their vaults, as usual.
What Are Super Mutants?
Let's begin with some background lore.
A Super Mutant in the Fallout universe is a mutated human exposed to the highly toxic and dangerous version of the Forced Evolutionary Virus or Fev.
By taking a regular or slightly mutated human and giving them long exposure to the Fev,...

[Warning: The following story contains spoilers about Season 1 of “Fallout.”]
Aaron Moten was not exactly familiar with “Fallout,” the game, when “Fallout,” the TV show, came to him. “I think if I had seen a poster, if I had seen a photograph of the T-60 — the big power armor suit — I would’ve recognized it to be ‘Fallout,’ but yeah, totally new to me,” he tells Gold Derby (watch the exclusive video interview above). “The world, the deep dive, if you will.”
The actor did a deep dive into gamers and Twitch streamers to prep for his audition, but after landing the part of Maximus, he made a conscious choice not to play the game. “My job as an actor always feels like bringing a human element to something. I felt that if I jumped into the video game, I think I’d be overly concerned with other things happening on set than what I need to be concerned with,...

Fallout has been receiving praise left and right ever since the first episode premiered. Based on the successful video game of the same name, it is already a critically acclaimed show. Only days after its release, there have been numerous fans acknowledging every aspect including the acting. Understanding adaptations and perfecting them leads to a quality final product.

In the past, the response to games being adapted, especially into live-action, has been almost bittersweet. With the exception of The Last of Us, Detective Pikachu, and a few more, the response hasn’t been as great as one would hope. Fallout is here to break that cycle.

Adapting darker tones takes a certain level of indulgence in the dark and gloomy as well.
