Exactly 60 years after they both recorded Jerry Ragovoy’s “Time Is on My Side,” the Rolling Stones and Irma Thomas finally had the chance to perform the song together Thursday evening at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. It was the first time the Stones had played the tune since 1998, and only the second time since 1982.
“In 1964, which is a very long time ago, we heard this great song on the radio by this amazing singer,” Jagger told the crowd. “We recorded it and it became our first kind of hit in America.

Exclusive: Post Malone and A Quiet Place Platinum Dune producers Michael Bay and Brad Fuller’s are partnering with Vault Comics to create an all-new IP universe based on an original story by the nine-time diamond recording artist.
This continues a hot streak for Post Malone, who recently made history with the first ever RIAA-certified Double-Diamond single, mesmerized audiences with his pre-Super Bowl performance of “America the Beautiful” and had a role in Amazon MGM Studios’ Road House, which was the most viewed original film launch ever on Prime Video.
Blending elements of road thrillers like Mad Max: Fury Road, and demonic horror like Evil Dead, Post Malone’s story is set in medieval Europe, where the only thing standing in the way of the horde of demons infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent back from the heavens.

Andrew Watt and Pearl Jam entered the world at practically the same exact moment. The 33-year-old producer was born Oct. 20, 1990, the same week that Eddie Vedder traveled to Seattle from San Diego to meet his future bandmates for the first time. “They’ve said to me they were probably writing ‘Release’ while my mom was giving birth to me,” Watt says. “And then they played their first concert two days after that at the Off Ramp cafe. Experience the new Pearl Jam album in a unique cinematic way. The rock band has revealed a short promo trailer for Pearl Jam: Dark Matter, a one-night-only cinematic event this April. To celebrate the release of the new album, they're presenting an exclusive cinematic engagement: Pearl Jam – Dark Matter – Global Theatrical Experience – One Night Only. Viewers will be among the very first to hear the band's new record (called "Dark Matter") in cinemas around the world. This communal experience will play Dark Matter in its entirety twice: first in a dark cinema, then again with mesmerizing visuals. Artist Alexandr Gnezdilov created the cover of Dark Matter using a large self-made kaleidoscope with each letter visible on the cover individually captured, then handwritten midair with a specially designed flashlight to create the pearlescent effect. This is the same art seen in the visualization within this trailer. Produced by multi-Grammy award winning producer Andrew Watt,...

Pearl Jam have dropped a second single, “Running,” from their upcoming album Dark Matter, set to arrive April 19.
“Running” is a two-minute blast of break-neck rock and roll, punctuated by a heavy, half-time breakdown and a scorching guitar solo. Eddie Vedder delivers a characteristically mighty vocal performance as well, bellowing during the bridge — “Living in the shadows, crossing my fingers/A date with the gallows and a reprieve not looking likely” — before letting out a throat-scorching hallow during the final refrain, “You got me running!”

It’s been almost 20 years since Mariah Carey last won a Grammy, so when she received the Global Impact Award from the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective, she offered a dose of her signature comical shade.
“Is this a real Grammy? I haven’t seen one in soooooo long,” she said Thursday night as she held the award.
“It’s weird. I don’t know,” Carey continued while laughing as the audience at the Fairmont Century Plaza cheered her on. “We’ll figure out what this is later.”
Carey is easily one of the best-selling acts of all-time and holds the record for most No. 1 hits — 20 — by a solo artist. She’s been nominated for 34 Grammys, winning five: best new artist and best female pop vocal performance (“Vision of Love”) in 1991, as well as three R&b honors at the 2006 ceremony for “We Belong Together” and The Emancipation of Mimi.

T-Pain made headlines last year when he released a cover of the Black Sabbath classic “War Pigs” and knocked it out of the park. Now, the rapper/singer has gotten the attention of Ozzy Osbourne himself.
The Prince of Darkness took to X, formerly Twitter, to repost a live clip of T-Pain covering “War Pigs.” Like the aforementioned studio version of the cover, T-Pain kills it here as well, delivering a soulful vocal performance — no auto-tune required.
Wrote an impressed Ozzy: “This is the best cover of ‘War Pigs’ ever. Why didn’t you guys call me?”

“Barbie” has won the inaugural Outstanding Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award at the Golden Globes. The Warner Bros. smash, the number one box office hit of 2023 ($1.44 billion in worldwide grosses), was a natural fit to win the award. With its creative, auteurist take on an existing property, the film has been credited as helping to revitalize a Hollywood still struggling post-Covid, and it’s been welcomed as a rare non-superhero-centric blockbuster.
“Barbie” also received the most nominations at the 81st Golden Globes overall this year, with nine total: in addition to Outstanding Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, it scored nods for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, Best Actress — Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Margot Robbie, Best Supporting Actor for Ryan Gosling, Best Director for Greta Gerwig, Best Screenplay for Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, and three Best Original Song nods: “Dance the Night” for Mark Ronson, Andrew Watt,...

Mike McCready has provided an update on what’s next from Pearl Jam, assuring fans that their forthcoming album — produced by Andrew Watt — will be “a lot heavier than you’d expect.”
The guitarist offered some details about the album in a recent interview with Classic Rock, and although it’s yet to be announced, it sounds like the LP is just about complete: “I’m hoping it’s gonna come out [in 2024],” McCready said. “We have a bunch of songs tracked. We worked with Andrew Watt, who’s a younger pop producer-type guy, but he’s really a rock guy at heart — I think we’re his favorite band. When we were in the studio with him this past year, he really kicked our asses, got us focused and playing, song after song.”

Ozzy Osbourne has apparently been the subject of several death-hoax videos on YouTube, and the Prince of Darkness isn’t having it.
“I’m not dead,” Ozzy declared on the latest episode of The Osbournes podcast. “I’m not going any-fucking-where. And I’m gonna go up and do some more gigs before I’m finished anyway.”
Ozzy, who turned 75 earlier in December, might be referring to one of the many clickbait videos that have been inundating YouTube as of late. Although the rock legend has dealt with numerous health issues that have kept him mostly off the stage in recent years, the death-hoax videos are likely jumping the gun in a shameless ploy to generate views.
“The thing on YouTube, it’s got ‘celebrities who have died today,’ and there’s a picture of me,” said Ozzy of the dubious videos, “and I go, ‘I’m not dead. I...

The 2024 Grammys nominations are here!
The Recording Academy announced the nominees in a YouTube livestream on Friday (November 10).
With nine nods for her hit album Sos, Sza is the most nominated artist this year. (Sos topped the Billboard 200 chart for 10 weeks.)
Keep reading to find out more…
In general, women are totally crushing it: Sza, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Miley Cyrus all dominated the biggest categories. Jon Batiste is actually the only man in the Record of the Year and Album of the Year categories.
With an Album of the Year nomination for Midnights, Taylor has a chance to make history by becoming the first artist to ever win the category four times. She’s previously won for Fearless, 1989, and Folklore.
Her collaborator and good friend Jack Antonoff, who won Producer of the Year the last two years, is nominated in the category once again.

The Stones’ seven-track set also included well-known songs like “Tumbling Dice,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and “Shattered.”
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood played like old friends onstage, enjoying every second of the short performance while the audience watched in awe. The Rolling Stones are back with Hackney Diamonds, their first new album of original material in 18 years. Listen to the project below via Apple Music or Spotify.
Produced by Andrew Watt, Hackney Diamonds was recorded across studios in Los Angeles, London, Bahamas, and New York City. It marks the Stones’ first new record since the 2016 blues covers LP Blue & Lonesome (and first original full-length since 2005’s A Bigger Bang), and the band promoted it accordingly: they posted a snippet of album cut “Angry” to a rage-inducing website that wouldn’t load properly.
Hackney Diamonds also features the Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder-featuring Song of the Week “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” as well as contributions from late drummer Charlie Watts, former bassist Bill Wyman, and Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

Like every other Rolling Stones album dubbed the best since 1978’s Some Girls, Hackney Diamonds features enough cringey lyrics, dodgy guitar riffs, and self-plagiarism (such as Keith Richards playing “Tumbling Dice” at the beginning of “Driving Me Too Hard”) to keep it out of the pantheon of their greatest releases. What parts of the album do capture is a genuinely contemporary flair that the Stones haven’t successfully embodied since they triangulated the emerging threads of punk and disco back in the late 1970s.
The album’s crisp, booming drums, hooky choruses, and livewire vocals have a radio-ready sheen without feeling forced, or compromising the Stones’s essential traits. The opening track, “Angry,” hardens the edges around a shiny pop-forward hook with a hit of stadium swagger and a roiling outro that piles on knotty guitar solos from Richards and Ronnie Wood. The fact that the Stones don’t sound...

Not counting their blues covers record from 2016, the last time the Rolling Stones bequeathed us with an album of fresh material was during George W. Bush’s presidency. That record, 2006’s A Bigger Bang, was feisty but not especially memorable, and in the nearly two decades since, maybe even the Stones started to wonder if we needed another record by them. If they were going to drag themselves (and us) through the process again, and after such a long gap, they also must have known they’d have to make it worth everyone’s while.

While health issues have kept Ozzy Osbourne off the road for the past five years, the metal legend has been prolific in the studio. After releasing new albums in 2020 and 2022, the Prince of Darkness is planning to hit the studio again in 2024 for “one more album.”

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready has revealed he is drawing on his experiences in the Seattle grunge scene for a new rock opera. In an interview with Guitar World, the musician said the project is inspired by and honors the late Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, who was also McCready’s bandmate in the supergroup Temple of the Dog.

The Rolling Stones will release their first album of original music in nearly two decades on Oct. 20, and it includes a collaboration with Lady Gaga.
At a press event in East London on Wednesday — hosted by Jimmy Fallon — the rock icons revealed details about Hackney Diamonds, the band’s new studio album. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood also unveiled the music video for the album’s first single, “Angry,” which was released Wednesday and stars Emmy-nominated actress Sydney Sweeney, who attended the event.
When Fallon asked her what crossed her mind when she got the call to star in the video, the Euphoria and The White Lotus actress said, “Oh, gosh. I mean, I freaked out, called my family, and brought my mom.” Her mom sat behind her at the event.
“I loved the song when I heard it. It’s been stuck in my head,” Sweeney added.
