Hannah Polland
- Actress
Hannah's involvement in the arts started at a young age growing up in a
family where 'we all like showing off' as her mother likes to put it.
Her mother Elizabeth Wirgman attended drama school in London in the 60's and her father Victor Wilkins was heavily involved in the stylish photography scene of that time, most notably working as a printer in David Montgomery's studios and designing Linda McCartney's first studio. Hannah grew up used to the camera and unafraid of performing in front of others.
At the age of 12 Hannah made her first screen appearance in a low-budget short 'Ring Tone' and soon after in a short indie thriller 'Alice Island' as a grumpy an uninterested teenager that gets eaten by a monster close to the end of the film.
Hannah's first feature film appearance was at the age of 14 in the Feature Powerless (where she is credited under her un-married name of Wilkins) where she played the nature loving and timid Rachel. Although she performed in a supporting role her presence in the film made a big impact and allowed her to demonstrate her ability to convey deep emotion in her face - particularly important for her future role as Kate the 'Finding Their Feet'.
A keen photographer, Hannah modeled in her teens, and continued to dance, ballet, tap and modern until she was 18. She was married in 2007 and attended University in Aberystwyth until 2010 recently graduating with a first in Psychology and English.
