Fox’s Animal Control is ramping up casting ahead of its expected midseason debut.
The workplace comedy has recruited Crazy Ex-Girlfriend grad Vella Lovell to co-star opposite Joel McHale.
The straight-to-series single-camera comedy follows a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.
Lovell will play the series regular role of Emily, the sweet-natured and endearingly awkward boss of the Animal Control precinct. She may be in over her head at the job, but she’s beloved by her team. McHale plays Frank, an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer.
Animal Control is an important show for Fox as it’s the independent network’s first wholly owned series from its recently launched Fox Entertainment Studios. The Moodys trio Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Tad Quill exec produce alongside Dan Sterling...

Mr. Mayor and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend alumna Vella Lovell has been cast as a series regular opposite Joel McHale on Fox’s straight-to-series workplace comedy, Animal Control. It’s slated for a mid-season premiere.
Created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Dan Sterling, the comedy series follows a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.
Lovell will play Emily, the sweet-natured and endearingly awkward boss of the Animal Control precinct. She may be in over her head at the job, but she’s beloved by her team.
McHale portrays Frank, an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical and curmudgeonly.

It was only a matter of time before someone named a horror movie after FrightFest. Unfortunately, this dismal effort (also known as American Fright Fest) from director Anton Novakovic isn’t worthy of the festival that bears its name. In fact, it’s so bad that it makes the similarly themed, similarly titled and similarly not very good Blood Fest (also released this year) look like a masterpiece by comparison.
Set in smalltown Somerton, Pennsylvania (“The safest small town in America”), Fright Fest centres on washed up, drug-crazed horror director Spencer Crowe (Dylan Walsh), who’s hired to create a live action Halloween event by vote-hungry Mayor Fowler. Crowe’s Fright Fest takes place in an abandoned asylum,...

Twilight parody trailer: Twiharder (image: John Gearries and Tanya Zoeller in Twiharder) [See previous post: "Twilight Parody vs. Lionsgate and Summit: $500 Million Lawsuit."] Say what you will about the productions values found in (or missing from) the Twiharder clip below, but you must admit that in the first scene leading lady Tanya Zoeller does a really good imitation of Kristen Stewart’s voice and mannerisms (e.g., lip-biting). And I gotta admit that I found kinda kinky-funny watching Christopher Sean’s use of his abs to stop the bleeding on the forehead of Zoeller’s Stella Pond. Edward Cullen parodist John Gearries, for his part, does a pretty good imitation of John Gilbert in His Glorious Night, repeating "I love you" ad nauseam. Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly’s Singin’ in the Rain, by the way, had Kelly parodying John Gilbert in that early talkie. Now, why didn’t anyone try to stop them? Well, a key reason is that the...

"Firefly" fans were all aflutter when news broke that Gina Torres would be visiting "Castle" for an on-screen reunion with the former Captain Mal Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) -- and thankfully the wait is almost over: The episode airs Monday, Feb 11 at 10 p.m. Est on ABC.
HuffPost TV has an exclusive preview of Torres and Fillion sharing the screen once more -- but this time, they're not exactly on the same team. Torres plays Samantha Foster, a "ruthless fashion mogul" in a "Real Housewives"-style reality show called "The Wives of Wall Street," and as you can see in the clip above, she's apparently not above getting her hands dirty.
Also appearing in the episode, titled "Reality Star Struck," are Gail O'Grady, Lachlan Buchanan and Heather Ann Davis. Fillion and Torres' fellow "Firefly" co-star, Adam Baldwin, also guest-starred on the show in Season 4.

Some of our favorite "Castle" episodes poke fun at pop culture, so we're particularly looking forward to episode 514, "Reality Star Struck." Nathan Fillion will reunite with his "Firefly" costar Gina Torres for the episode, which focuses on a "Real Housewives"-esque reality show called "The Wives of Wall Street."
And let's just say they're using the term "reality" loosely -- on this show, all is not as it seems.
Now, Zap2it has learned exclusively that Lachlan Buchanan will play Stone Gower. The 24-year-old son of Gail O'Grady's character, a reality star and cosmetics mogul, Gower feels he was bullied into participating in the reality series. He and his fiancee, ceramics entrepreneur Ashley Robinson -- who is played by Heather Ann Davis -- are in talks for a spin-off show of their own when one of his colleagues is murdered... and Stone is brought in as a suspect.

Breaking Wind: Part 1
Stars: Heather Ann Davis, Eric Callero, Frank Pacheco, Michael Adam Hamilton, Alice Rietveld | Written and Directed by Craig Moss
Directed by Craig Moss, the man behind The 41 Year Old Virgin Who Knocked-Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It, Breaking Wind: Part 1 is, like Vampires Suck before it, a spoof of the blockbuster Twilight franchise and follows Bella – who finds herself the object of everyone’s affection including Edward Colon, Jacob the overweight but girthy werewolf and Little Edward the three foot six pint sized version of Edward. If that wasn’t enough to worry about, Bella and the gang soon realise that an army of freshly turned vampires (Noobs) are making their way down from Seattle to Forks to kill Bella after tracking her scent from her only copy of ‘Ebony Thunder’ magazine. Both the Colons and the Werewolves must come together to protect Bella,...

From the director who brought you The 41 Year Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall And Felt Superbad About It, comes a wildly funny spoof of the blockbuster Twilight franchise, Breaking Wind – which is released on DVD today, offers some light relief to all those suffering from Twilight fatigue.
Breaking Wind follows Bella, who finds herself as the object of everyone’s affections: from an eerily Pattinson-esque Edward, Jacob the overweight but girthy werewolf, to Edward’s pint-sized (but oddly sinister) miniature alter ego Little Edward. Raunchy hilarity ensues when Bella’s life is threatened by the vengeful Victoria and her gang of blood sucking Vampire ‘Noobs’, and Edward and Jacob must put aside their differences to save her. Again.
Brought to you by Revolver Entertainment, directed by Craig Moss and starring Heather Ann Davis, Danny Trejo, Eric Callero, Emma Bell and Frank Pacheco, this tongue-in-cheek Twilight parody will appeal to Twi-hards and haters alike.

Michael (18)
(Markus Schleinzer) Michael Fuith, David Rauchenberger, Gisella Salcher. 96 mins
The daily routine of an Austrian paedophile who keeps a young boy locked in his cellar was hardly something anyone was queuing up to see, but this challenges us, and itself, to take a look. At the same time, it thankfully averts its gaze from scenes of actual abuse. There are keen observations on parenting, privacy, power relations and more, but the flat, factual approach verges on dull, and the absence of empathy ultimately just leaves you feeling grubby. So get in line for the grimmest movie of the year!
This Means War (12A)
(McG, 2012, Us) Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Reese Witherspoon. 98 mins
Two suspiciously close CIA buddies fall out when they discover they're dating the same woman – cue the misuse of government equipment and their own combat skills for one-upmanship. The romcom high concept is novel for a good reason: it's completely ridiculous.

Heather Ann Davis vamps for Eric Callero in Breaking Wind.
The 2011 comedy movie Breaking Wind is the inevitable parody film of the Twilight vampire saga.
Like the Twilight books and film, Breaking Wind revolves around a love triangle of mortals, vampires and werewolves — all of which must be put on hold when the beloved Bella (Heather Ann Davis, TV’s The Lake) finds herself in danger (for a change). This time, a gang of bloodsucking newborns threatens her safety, and the two loves of her life are forced to put their differences aside to save her. Again.

Following on from the reveal of some new artwork for the latest 'Twilight' spoofage 'Breaking Wind' the Craig Moss' ('Bad Ass', 'The 41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It') project has opened it's humour doors some more by unleashing a new trailer filled with toilet-humour and not overly bad sight gags. It's a shame the spoof genre has effectively lost its footing quite dramatically since the 90's. However, it'll take something far more special than something like 'Breaking Wind' to really get it back on its feet. The spoof stars the likes of Heather Ann Davis ('The Lake'), Eric Callero, Frank Pacheco ('Wizards of Waverly Place') and Danny Trejo ('Machete'). Check out the new trailer below and check it out on DVD when it arrives this March courtesy of Lionsgate...

Though it's still a bit of a mystery to us how the teenage saga of beastiality and necrophilia known as The Twilight Saga ever became so popular in the first place, we are happy about one thing ... the spoofs.

Whilst Craig Moss' spoof flick 'The 41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It' decided on the odd idea of parodying a bunch of comedy movies his new spoofy take on the 'Twilight' franchise may have a little more bite. But the on the otherhand if it is anything like the suck fest that was Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer's 'Vampires Suck' then we're all in a world of hurt! Some new artwork for the planned DVD release has turned up featuring its three leads Heather Ann Davis -below ('The Lake'), Eric Callero and Frank Pacheco ('Wizards of Waverly Place') who play Bella, Edward and Jacob respectively. Danny Trejo ('Machete') also pops up as the character of Billy Black. Trejo also stars in Moss' new action thriller 'Bad Ass' which should see the light of day soon.
