A British man is set to enter the Guinness Book of Records for visiting every country in the world without flying. Graham Hughes from Liverpool will visit Russia on Monday to complete his mission and set the record, Sky News reports, Hughes, 33, began the challenge to visit all 193 Un recognised nations in January 2009. He previously visited Russia as part of his record attempt but the trip was not accepted by Guinness World Records after he entered without a valid visa. Hughes entered Russia by swimming over the River Narva from Estonia into the country. He will now return to Russia by taking the 25-hour train from London Victoria to Gdansk in Poland before taking a bus across the border. For nigh on four years, director Graham Hughes has been slap-dashing his name into the record books for exploits more worthy of a silver screen treatment than getting eaten by sharks or cutting your own hand off ever could be. “What on earth could be more interesting than somebody hacking off their own hand in a freak climbing incident?” I hear you say, and I applaud your prescient wording of the question. On 26th November 2012 Graham Hughes set foot in his last – and the world’s newest – country in a long line of countries.
