UK film education charity Into Film has appointed Fiona Evans as its new CEO.
Evans takes over the post in April, succeeding Paul Reeve who announced his departure in October 2023.
The new CEO joins from the National Literacy Trust where she is director of school programmes, having worked in the education sector for over 20 years. Evans was also a part of the team responsible for rolling out the department of education’s Every Child a Reader initiative.
Eric Fellner, chair of the Into Film board and co-chair at Working Title, said: “We are delighted to welcome Fiona as the new CEO of Into Film.

Oscar-winning star named Ambassador of Into Film.
Actor Eddie Redmayne has today been announced as the new Ambassador of UK film education charity Into Film.
The charity, which is supported by the BFI with Lottery funding, places film at the centre of the educational and personal development of children and young people aged 5-19 across the UK.
Redmayne - who won Oscar, BAFTA, SAG and Golden Globe Awards for his performance as Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything – first worked with the charity when he joined pupils last year at Westminster Academy to launch Into Film.
The charity had been formed following the merger of two leading education charities - Filmclub and First Light - in 2014.
Redmayne, who will next be seen in Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl, chose to support the charity after he saw the impact of its work with young people.

UK education charity Into Film is set to host its inaugural awards at London’s Empire Leicester Square.
The awards, held tomorrow (March 24), will pay tribute to outstanding 5-19 year olds who have demonstrated talent and exceptional achievements in filmmaking or film reviewing.
The nominees are to have their films screened to an audience of 600. The winners will be decided by a judging panel comprised of industry professionals including Sir Alan Parker (Evita), David Yates (Harry Potter), Manjinder Virk (Call the Midwife) and Peter Kosminsky (Wolf Hall).

Shakespeare comedy Bill, starring the cast of Horrible Histories, has been confirmed as the first film to take part in Into Film’s initiative ‘Green Light to Opening Night’.
The initiative will allow a selection of young people from schools and colleges across the UK to observe and report on different aspects of the film’s life from start to finish. Each area from behind-the-scenes will be turned into a series of video reports and interviews led by, featuring and presented by young people, allowing them to ask the questions they want to ask.
