"You're not just fighting for yourself anymore..." "You're fighting for all of us 'unmatchables.'" Vertical has debuted a new trailer for an indie romantic comedy titled Match Me If You Can, which was first released in theaters back in August and is now available on VOD. Kip Parsons is a computer nerd who declares war on online dating services when she's rejected by one as "unmatchable." When she writes a blog about her experience, it goes viral and everyone comes to her support, except for the dating website which tries to sue her. What a wacky comedy concept! Georgina Reilly stars as Kip, with Wilson Bethel, Brian George, Billy Armstrong, Veronica Wylie, Chaz Clark, and Kanwar Singh. Though I'm sure there's nothing new in here, this does look cute & fun, a casual watch if you're looking for something amusing. View below. // Continue Reading ›...

Exclusive: Vertical has locked down rights to the romantic comedy Match Me If You Can for North America, the UK and Ireland. Marking the feature debut of director Marian Yeager, the film is now set for a day-and-date release on August 11th. Among the major titles opening against it are Sony’s Gran Turismo and Universal’s Last Voyage of the Demeter.
Written by Betsy Morris, Match Me If You Can watches as female computer nerd Kip Parsons (Quantum Leap‘s Georgina Reilly) declares war on iPromise, an online dating service that rejected her as “unmatchable.” Taking her case to social media, she goes viral and becomes the reluctant champion for all those frustrated singles out there. When the company masterminded by Riley Detamore (All Rise‘s Wilson Bethel) finds itself at risk because her blog has gone viral, Riley maps out a plan to find out why. A chance...

Director/co-screenwriter Marian Yeager has some trouble pulling the narrative strings of her debut indie about a young woman who gets involved in various shady dealings thanks to her con-artist brother. Often lapsing into attempts at broad comedy that don’t quite come off, the tonally wobbly The Conway Curve is most notable for the appealing lead performance by Veronica Wylie, who displays deft comic chops even when forced to commit to such tired running gags as her character repeatedly hitting her head.
The ramshackle plot revolves around Natalie Conway (Wylie), whose older brother Luke (Bradley Snedeker) severed contact with the family...

Recently we caught up with French writer and director Nicolas Simonin (the man behind the much buzzed-about short film Derailed), who provided us word and a trailer for his next horror short, Seizures.
Written, directed and produced by Simonin, Seizures stars Jonno Roberts ("C.S.I.", "Person of Interest", "Lie to Me"), Veronica Wylie and Scott Loska and centers around (according to the official synopsis) the character of “Vincent, a photojournalist suffering from a brain injury, [who] tries to reconnect with his past by developing old film strips of pictures he doesn’t even remember. Everything leads him to a strange gas station, where the man will face his worst nightmare.”
“It's a film in the vein of Jacob's Ladder, Angel Heart and Memento,” Simonin said of his sixteen-minute Seizures, which is slated to make its North American festival debut this fall. “It’s a psychological thriller with some disturbing, shocking images,...

What could be more strange than watching a man dressed in a playful bunny suit chase some young kids around with a chainsaw? The trailer for Bunnyman is full of the bizarre, as director Carl Lindbergh (Shattered Lives) blends the childlike with the horrific. Bunnyman is listed as being in the genre of horror only; so, please no laughing at the trailer for the film below, with Bunnyman releasing June 21st on DVD.
The synopsis for Bunnyman is here:
"Driving through the remote regions of Southern California, a group of friends are forced into a sickening game of cat and mouse, with a five ton dump truck. When looking for help, they stumble upon a family of cannibals, who take pleasure dismembering and eating as many of the kids as possible.
The lucky few who escape, now most answer to the head of the cannibalistic family, a horribly disfigured man,...

Here's a tip for you ... while driving anywhere it may not be a good idea to cut anyone off with your car (unless of course you wave and mystically make the intrusion into their lane okay). You just never know what kind of lunatic may be behind the wheel.
See how easily trouble starts? No? Well you'll definitely see this June as the Bunnyman comes hopping home to DVD.
Cheryl Texiera, Matthew Philips, Alaina Gianci, Veronica Wylie, Scott Kuza, Lucia Sullivan, David Scott, Matthew Stiller, Rebecca Grayce, Joseph Darden, and Joshua Lang star.
