While the Dceu may have been struggling to come up with an exceptional film that the fans could rally behind, the folks over at the Dcau were bringing some of the most amazing stories from the pages of DC Comics to life via animations.

Brad Winderbaum, Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios, recently shared details about upcoming MCU projects in an interview with Phase Zero. He mentioned that season three of ‘X-Men ’97’ is in development, despite Beau DeMayo’s departure before the second season premiere. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has found itself in an interesting position after Disney acquired Fox, bringing a slew of characters into the fold of Marvel, ones whose film rights had been traded away to keep the company afloat. The Fantastic Four teaser image had a lot going for it, but the surprise that fans have been focusing on the most is the inclusion of H.E.R.B.I.E, the robot assistance that first made an appearance in the 1978 animated series. He was a replacement for The Human Torch, who was not licensed for the television series,.

However, H.E.R.B.I.E’s appearance in the poster implies there is at least going to be some alien involvement in the Fantastic Four film and it will most probably include Galactus. Marvel Studios has a robust lineup of over 20 projects in development, spotlighting both prominent and lesser-known characters from the comics. Recent rumors suggest that executives are exploring additional characters to expand the Disney+ show offerings.
Despite the industry-wide impact of the historic SAG-AFTRA strike, causing delays and uncertainties for some previously announced and speculated projects, occasional updates or rumors assure fans that progress is still underway. Over the past seven years, a Nova-centric project has been heavily rumored. The initial plan was for it to be a movie, but later speculations hinted at a Disney+ series. Now, according to the reliable insider Daniel Richtman, it appears the Nova project is destined to be a feature film after all.
Rumor: A project centered on 'Nova', which was originally going to be a limited series, is now being reworked as a feature film.

Marvel Studios has more than 20 projects in the works, focusing on both big and lesser-known characters from the comics, and in the last few days, rumors have been going around that the execs are looking into more characters to expand the Disney+ selection of the shows.
And even though the historic SAG-AFTRA strike affected productions across the board, and some previously announced and rumored projects are stuck in limbo, we occasionally get a piece of news or rumors confirming that they are still happening. In the last seven or so years, one project involving Nova was heavily rumored. It made sense to introduce him earlier due to the Guardians of the Galaxy connection to Xandar and the heavy involvement of Nova Corps with issues surrounding Ronan and Thanos.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" scribe Jeff Loveness may have brought his experience in creating whacky science-fiction tales due to his time as a writer on "Rick and Morty," but his intimate knowledge of Marvel Comics stems directly from the superhero books he worked on. Loveness has written for both Marvel and DC, as well as for the independent publisher Boom! Studios, covering "Shazam!," "Spider-Man," and "Nova." The latter is near and dear to Loveness' heart, so it's no surprise that the writer has a few ideas about how the character can translate to the screen.

Glen Powell says he won’t be flying high with the “X-Men” anytime soon.
The “Top Gun: Maverick” breakout star recently shut down rumors that he would be playing Cyclops in an upcoming Marvel installment for the mutant franchise.
“Before Comic-Con, everybody was like, ‘Dude, are you Cyclops?’ No, I’m not,” Powell told Variety. “Nobody has called me. I don’t even have one contact info for Marvel, so I have no idea what people are talking about.”
Powell later tweeted to clarify his comments, writing, “I sound angry and confused, but I promise it’s just confused.”
And it seems a “Top Gun” spin-off featuring co-star Miles Teller is “more likely” anyways, as Powell previously quipped.
“Miles and I always send each other screenshots of random people who hope that Rooster and Hangman end up together,” the actor explained. “It’s, like, ‘The Notebook’ but with Rooster and Hangman.

Ryan Gosling may have tapped into his “Ken-ergy” for upcoming “Barbie” film, but the Oscar nominee is more focused on Mattel than Marvel.
During an interview with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz (below), Gosling shut down rumors of being linked to play MCU superhero Nova, also known as Richard Rider in the comics.
“I don’t know anything about Nova, if that’s what you’re going to ask me,” Gosling told Horowitz when asked how many comic book hero roles he’s turned down over the years.
He continued, “It doesn’t matter. I wasn’t right for it. But I would love to do it. It’s just, what’s the one? I was waiting for the Captain Canada call.”
The “Gray Man” actor is currently eying a Netflix franchise based on Mark Greaney’s nine-novel series, with writer/directors Joe and Anthony Russo hoping to build out the spy caper character franchise.

The man called Nova is finally headed to the MCU. Deadline has announced that Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada will be shepherding the character into the MCU. At this point, we don’t know if Nova will be a series or a movie, but excitement is already building.
Moviegoers have already received a glimpse of Nova in Guardians of the Galaxy, in which the Nova Corps played an important role. For comic book fans, the Nova Corps looks quite different. As in the movies, the Nova Corps is an intergalactic peace-keeping group, with members from all over the galaxy. But instead of flying around in cool star-shaped spaceships, the Nova Corps gain their power from their helmets and Centurion suits. Once a new member joins the Corps, their helmet grants them super-speed, flight, energy projection, and damage resistance.

Exclusive: Richard Rider aka Nova looks to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as sources tell Deadline that Marvel is developing a Nova project with Moon Knight scribe Sabir Pirzada on board to write. It is unknown for now whether this will be developed as a feature film or a limited series for Disney+. As always, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will produce.
Nova first appeared in an 1976 issue of Super Adventures was member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps, for which he gained superhuman abilities including enhanced strength, flight and resistance to injury. While the character didn’t have many run-ins with some of the main figures of the current or past MCU, he did have some battles with the Skrulls, who have big parts in recent and upcoming Marvel projects including Captain Marvel and the limited series Secret Invasion.

This article contains Peacemaker spoilers.
One of the strengths of James Gunn’s delightful HBO Max series Peacemaker has been its cast, and one of the breakout actors on the show has been Chukwudi Iwuji, who’s portrayed the original character Clemson Murn, leader of the black ops Project Butterfly team and, as it turns out, an alien butterfly himself. Iwuji is a veteran actor who has worked primarily on the British stage, with a number of forays into TV and film, but Peacemaker is perhaps his most high-profile mainstream project to date.
Until his next one, that is. Coming off his work on Peacemaker (which came to an end in Episode 7 with Murn’s death at the hands of his fellow butterflies), Iwuji was cast by Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is currently filming. In typical Marvel Studios fashion, however, the name of Iwuji’s character has not been revealed.

As the old saying goes, nobody ever really stays dead in comic books or comic book movies apart from Spider-Man’s Uncle Ben and Batman’s parents, so despite being killed at both the start and end of Avengers: Endgame, speculation has persisted about a potential return to the screen for Thanos.
The Mad Titan loomed large for years as the Infinity Saga’s end-of-level boss, and justified his status as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s greatest threat by wiping out half of all life in existence. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, running down a list of Marvel characters in consideration for live-action films, confirmed Marvel Comics' "Nova", has "immediate potential" :

Avengers: Infinity War included pretty much every Marvel hero out there in the McU, with its 2 hour and 30 minute runtime squeezing in all the Avengers, Guardians and many more. So, in contrast to previous team-up movies, like Spider-Man and Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War, it didn’t have room to introduce any major new heroes into the cinematic universe. This wasn’t always the case, though, as a beloved comic book character did feature in early drafts.
You may know that none other than Nova was originally set to appear in Infinity War, something that screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have revealed before. Last month, the pair took part in a watch party of the film and elaborated a little bit more on why Richard Rider didn’t end up making it into the storyline.

You might think that at some point we’re going to run out of comic book superheroes. Fortunately, you would be super wrong, because there’s a hell of a lot more in the world of comics than the Avengers and Justice League. And just in the last couple of weeks projects based on Rob Leifeld’s “Prophet” and Scott Lodbell’s “Ball and Chain” were announced. So here are 13 heroes we think are long overdue for the live action film treatment, from fan favorites to cult classics. Hollywood, use your Covid-19 free time and get on this now.
1. Richard Rider (Nova)
Rider is the most famous member of Nova Corps, the intergalactic cops seen in 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” — think of them as Marvel’s version of the Green Lanterns. In comics he’s crossed paths with the Guardians, Captain Marvel and Thor over the years — in other...

James Gunn may have admitted that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will most likely mark the end of his time at the helm of the franchise, but the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is only set to get bigger in the coming years. Both The Eternals and Captain Marvel 2 will expand the scope of the McU’s intergalactic adventures, while there’s always the possibility that Marvel could greenlight the spinoff headlined by Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar that was teased in Vol 2.’s post-credits scene.
The third installment in the Guardians franchise doesn’t even have an official release date yet, but that will no doubt happen shortly after Gunn completes work on Dceu pic The Suicide Squad. Already, though, we know that Rocket is set to play a pivotal role in the story, and the likes of Nova and Adam Warlock have been heavily teased as well.

McU beware: Galactus is coming! The arrival of one of the most powerful forces in Marvel Comics is a long time away yet, but trust me, he’s on his way. Marvel Studios spent a decade building up to Thanos and the events of Infinity War and Endgame, and you can bet they’re eager to replicate that success with Galactus. You can also guarantee that after the Fox merger, where they gained control of the Fantastic Four IP, Kevin Feige and co. are busy working on a longterm plan for the introduction of Galactus and his herald, the Silver Surfer. And now we have an idea of when the ball might start rolling.

We’re still waiting for Nova to enter the McU, but it’s seeming likely that the hero will finally appear in the franchise in the coming years. Captain Marvel 2 has risen up as the prime candidate for where Richard Rider could make his big screen debut and while there’ve been various conflicting reports about how Marvel may tackle him, the latest word points to the character potentially striking up a friendship with Spider-Man down the line.
This news comes from scoopster Mikey Sutton (via Superhero Buzz) and it’s said that Nova will debut in CM2 and, yes, it will be the Richard Rider version, not one of the other folks to take on the mantle in the comics or a gender-flipped take, as has been claimed in a previous rumor. Carol Danvers has gone down a smash with the McU fandom since she was introduced in last year’s Captain Marvel. Specifically, she’s become something of an Lgbt icon, with it largely agreed that the heroine should come out as gay in Captain Marvel 2. Marvel filmmakers and execs have touched on this topic before, of course, but we’ve had no conclusive proof that it’ll actually happen yet.
A new rumor, however, claims that Carol will develop a same-sex relationship in the upcoming sequel, with a character who will no doubt be of key importance to the franchise going forward. But before we dive into this, we should point out that this info comes our way via 4Chan, whose leaked information is famously unreliable. Still, the site can sometimes turn up genuine intel and has done so many times in the past.

Nova is a hero that fans have demanded should enter the McU for a number of years now, and there’s a feeling going into Phase 4 that the time might finally be right to introduce him. Avengers: Infinity War teased the destruction of the Nova Corps, after all, teeing up Richard Rider to rise up as the one and only Nova. And according to a new rumor, this could happen in Captain Marvel 2, but with a very big twist that no one saw coming.
First, let’s preface this news with the warning that it does originate from 4Chan, so it could be way off the mark. On the other hand, it’s a fact that sometimes leakers on the site are bang on the money and have accurately predicted plots of forthcoming Marvel or Star Wars movies in the past on many occasions.

Cast your mind back to March of 2019, long before Avengers: Endgame blew a Thanos-sized hole in the McU, and you’ll no doubt remember the moment when Captain Marvel pulled a bait-and-switch, revealing the Skrulls to be luckless refugees. And definitely not enemies.
It’s a story twist that Marvel Studios later honored in Spider-Man: Far From Home, when Talos and Soren impersonated Nick Fury and Maria Hill, respectively, leaving the former to kick back and relax on some form of Skrull spaceship.
So, it’s fair to say that expectations are high going into Captain Marvel 2. The space-faring sequel likely won’t be with us until 2022, but new intel uncovered by 4Chan (h/t CosmicBookNews) suggests that Marvel has already decided on which villain will face off against Carol Danvers in two years’ time.

While it feels like we pretty much saw every past Marvel cinematic universe character make an appearance in the two films Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, there were some that didn’t make the cut. The films were epic, and did include droves of characters that we hadn’t seen in a while, but it all worked and made sense. They just couldn’t include every single character from every single film. One of the characters that didn’t make it was Glenn Close’s character, Nova Prime, from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1.

Marvel fans have been waiting patiently to finally see the classic character Nova make his debut in the McU. A few months ago it was reported that Marvel Studios has started developing a Nova film project. Now, McU Cosmic is reporting that the character will make his big arrival in Phase 5. The site reports:
According to very reliable sources, Nova appears to be one of the big characters planned for a Phase 5 debut alongside Blade, The Fantastic Four, and the Mutants. And from the sound of things, and how it’s been in development for a while, it could be relatively early in Phase 5 as well.
When previously talking about Nova potentially being introduced to the McU, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said:

It looks like a Nova movie might finally be in the works as according to our sources, a film starring Richard Rider’s cosmic hero is actively in development at Marvel Studios – information that’s also been confirmed today by McU Cosmic. Fans have been calling for this to happen for years now, but Phase 5 – where it would likely land – is probably the right time for it and it could reintroduce a popular character we wouldn’t have seen for a while by that point.
As the headline tells you, I’m talking about Thanos. Though the Mad Titan has nothing to do with Nova in the comics, he could be directly linked to his origins in the McU version of events. Back in Avengers: Infinity War, Thor relayed to the Guardians of the Galaxy that Thanos had pinched the Power Stone from Xandar when he’d destroyed the planet.

Captain Marvel 2 is currently rumored for release in 2023. The Russo Brothers even said that the character had already secretly debuted in Avengers: Endgame, only to clarify soon after that they were joking.
But now, rumors are mounting that the hero will be introduced in Captain Marvel 2. The precise details of what the sequel will be about are still unknown, but on paper, the two characters seem like a good match for one another. After all, both are regular humans granted amazing cosmic powers, both exist in the cosmic corners of the McU and they share broadly similar goals.

There may be few directors with more one-for-them, one-for-me chips to cash in than Marvel’s in-house brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo. Which makes sense, of course. When your last two movies cleared nearly $5 billion at the global box office, you begin to develop a thing called clout.
Now with both “Avengers” films in the rearview mirror, they’re making good on some hard-won sway — in this case, producing screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan’s directorial debut, the ripped-from-the-headlines war drama “Mosul.”
On paper, “Mosul” does indeed sound like the kind of project that could use a few patrons willing to take risks. Adapted from a 2017 New Yorker article about an elite Iraqi Swat team taking the fight to Isis, this is an Arabic-language film without a single recognizable performer, set entirely in the concrete remnants of a bombed-out city. The major studios aren’t exactly rushing to make those.

It looks like Richard Rider might be about to continue the Corps’ legacy, but who could play him when he finally makes his first cinematic appearance? Well, a new rumor may have given us a big clue as to who Marvel’s looking at for the role.

Spider-Man: Far From Home sets up the future of the McU in a number of ways. The post-credits scenes, for example, teased a very different status quo for Peter Parker to come in Spider-Man 3 as well as a presumed hint at the contents of Captain Marvel 2. One easily-missed easter egg may also have reminded us that a Nova movie is on the way, likely in Phase Four.
When Peter is on the flight to Europe, he browses the in-flight entertainment to find something to watch, though he becomes emotional when he happens upon a Tony Stark documentary. Those with eagle-eyes, however, may have noticed the mock-posters for fake films that Peter could have chosen. The titles all refer to elements of the McU, including The Snap, Finding Wakanda and Hunting Hydra. But the most interesting one has to be Nova.
Wait a second, though. This doesn’t mean that...

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has a lot on its plate. As well as wrapping up the story of Star-Lord and his friends, we’ve also heard that it’ll introduce many fan favorite characters from the comics into the McU for the first time. For instance, Moondragon, Beta Ray Bill and Adam Warlock. One who could be significant to the future of the franchise, though, is Nova, who new intel says could be spun off into his own movie.
Reddit user TheMarvelScoopMaster previously claimed that Nova would debut in Vol. 3. Now, the Redditor is saying that the character’s role will set up a Nova film that’s coming sooner than you think. Apparently, it could be with us by May 2022.
“I’d probably put Nova in the May 6, 2022 spot as I’ve been hearing they’re going to introduce him in Gotg 3 and spin him off in his own film.

One cosmic hero that fans have been waiting to see in the McU since forever is Nova. Guardians of the Galaxy delivered a much different version of the Nova Corps from the comics, but Richard Rider was nowhere to be seen. Still, the introduction of the space police left the door open for the character to eventually arrive. And new information points to this finally happening in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
A user known as TheMarvelScoopMaster has turned up on Reddit over the past few days and has been sharing some juicy supposedly leaked intel on the future of the McU. A lot of what he’s saying is very plausible, too, and tees up with what we’re hearing elsewhere. Case in point: when asked by a fan if Nova was on his way to the franchise in Phase Four, the Redditor wrote that we can expect...
