- Descendant of James McHenry, Forefather of America, signer of The Constitution and Secretary of War under President George Washington and President John Adams. The McHenry family name continues its heritage with their namesake in Fort McHenry, a national Historical Park and Monument in Baltimore MD where the American national anthem was also written, The McHenry Tunnel, and the USS McHenry, all of which were named after James McHenry.
- Sharon began acting in the theatre professionally at 7 years of age.
- Sharon has directed over 200 professional theatre main-stage productions.
- Sharon graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)in Theatre, specialization in Acting and Directing. She is a Meisner trained actress and has studied with Wynn Handman of The Wynn Handman Studios, Don Biehn, HB Studios, Stella Adler Studios, Neighborhood Playhouse, Comedy Workshop.
- Sharon obtained her Certificate of Masters Excellency from The National Shakespeare Company and Conservatory. She is an accomplished classical stage actress with a natural talent and passion in performing in the classics, and especially the works of Shakespeare.
- Sharon is also a Puppeteer, having learned the craft of hand-carving marionettes out of wood from her father. At age 13, she started her own marionette and puppet company performing on weekends and holidays in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. She went on to study puppetry and perform as a puppeteer under the direction of JoAnn Spencer Siegrist while an Acting student at West Virginia University. She worked with the late Jim Henson who still inspires her today in all the children theatre productions and videos she directs and produces.
