The ice-cold way that Sash, Holly and Chase cut Jane's throat on Wednesday's episode of Survivor was the perfect example of how loyalty and friendship get tossed in favor of risk assessment when it comes to the endgame. I know from experience that having to turn on your alliance can be heartbreaking. All those things you dreamed about together from day 2 are coming true - but only for one person. Rather than award a Fishy, I thought I would ask a few of Survivor's best strategists - Jt Thomas, Russell Hantz, Todd Herzog and more - what their endgame experiences were like.

The tribal council has spoken! CBS' "Survivor" started with 20 contestants -- but now only one "Survivor" reigns. 58-year-old ethics teacher Bob Crowley won it all on live television tonight! The new millionaire is the oldest winner in "Survivor" history. "I just tried to be necessary and friendly," Bob said of his strategy. "My plan was to fly under the radar as long as I could." Bob, Ken Hoang, Jessica "Sugar" Kiper, Susie Smith and Matty Whitmore were the five contestants who remained on the season finale. After Ken was voted off in the first challenge, hairdresser Susie won the House of Cards challenge keeping her in the top 3. "That's what happens when you underestimate someone," contestant Sugar says about Susie's unbelievable win. Matty and Bob were forced into a fire making challenge after the votes showed a tie regarding which one of them should go home. Bob won the...

Crazy? Or bored? Last night brought us yet another delicious blindside. Sadly, it was Crystal, who I thoroughly enjoyed watching all season. This woman won a gold medal in the Olympics just four years ago and is 6’3”. I assumed she would dominate both men and women in athletic competitions, but she was actually one of the worst challenge performers in the entire season and possibly the series. Last night she couldn’t even make a basket when she dunked it! She got lost on the obstacle course! It was incredible. And despite this, she had the game all sewn up—until she went off on Matty. Sugar saw that as kicking him when he was almost definitely the next to be voted out and decided that she was sick of playing the game with “the bad guys” (Ken and Crystal) and was going to do whatever she could to save...

I’m pretty sure they’d believe me that this was a real hidden immunity idol at this point. Another day, another fake idol. After winning the reward challenge and spending time with his wife and some nasty-looking pizza, Bob went back to the game recharged and ready to see if the nitwits he’s been playing with will fall for another fake idol for a second time in a row. First, of course, he had to get on his high horse about how Sugar laughed at Randy when he played the fake idol, as if he had nothing to do with that. Oh, except that he made the idol in the first place, showed it to Sugar, and then went along with her plan to give it to Randy for the sole purpose of embarrassing him. Come on, Bob. But my annoyance with his hypocrisy soon gave way to...

Would you hire this guy to film your wedding? How much have I enjoyed watching the arrogant and entitled Kota Six alliance come crashing down? So much. So very much. They treated Susie badly going into the tribe switch last week, and lo and behold, she ran right back to her old tribe and sided with them to vote Marcus out, much to his surprise. Last night, the tribes finally merged into one at an individual immunity challenge that Susie won in a blowout. A really funny blowout. Back at their shared camp, it quickly became apparent that the Kota Six Five Four wanted Crystal gone, while the Fang Four wanted to take Randy out. That left Sugar as the swing vote. She didn’t trust the Fangs since she found out that Ken and Crystal lied to her to get her to vote Ace out, but she didn’t...

Hero! Sorry for the delay in getting this up, but I was so happy to see Ace go home that I partied for two days straight. The show went its usual route: Fang sucked, lost the reward challenge, Sugar got sent to Exile, Kota celebrated their win, and Randy was obnoxious. They figured they had the immunity challenge all sewn up, too, until Probst revealed the twist: both tribes were voting someone out tonight, and this challenge was for individual immunity. And it was a log-roll-off. Despite the fact Bob won a log rolling championship in college three hundred years ago, he lost out in the semi-final round to Sugar, who advanced to the final round with Ace and Marcus. Of course, Marcus won, because he’s perfect at everything. He then got the chance to award immunity to someone on the Fang tribe. After singling Sugar out to go to Exile week after week,...
