In case there was any doubt, October is going to be a busy month for horror video games. And if Alan Wake 2 voice actor Matthew Porretta is correct, things just got a little busier.
On a recent episode of the Monsters, Madness, and Magic podcast, Porretta, who voices Alan Wake, revealed that the highly-anticipated Alan Wake 2 is aiming for an October release. Around the 16:40 mark of the interview, host Justin Young commented that posed a question regarding Porretta’s move into voice acting, noting that Alan Wake is one of his favourite games. Porretta responded:
“I’ve been working on [Alan Wake 2]. That’s supposed to come out in October. We’re in the middle of working on it now. In fact I was just in Finland last week. That’s where the company’s from—Remedy—amazing people.”

Masterpiece has released a trailer for the upcoming final season of Sanditon, the drama inspired by Jane Austen’s final, unfinished novel, that was adapted and created by Andrew Davies and produced by Red Planet Pictures.
The series took on its own direction (Austen only finished 11 chapters before her death) and writer Justin Young took the helm as lead writer and executive producer for seasons 2 and 3. The drama will premiere on 9 p.m. Sunday, March 19, on PBS. The series also will be available to stream the same day.
Returning characters for Season 3 include Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams), Georgiana Lambe (Crystal Clarke), Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes), Tom Parker (Kris Marshall), Mary Parker (Kate Ashfield), Lady Denham (Anne Reid), Edward Denham (Jack Fox), Arthur Parker (Turlough Convery), Lady Susan (Sophie Winkleman), and Ralph Starling (Cai Brigden).
More new faces are joining the series, like Lady Montrose, who is the quintessential Austen mother. She arrives in Sanditon with one objective: matches for her children, Lydia and Henry. Lydia is an independent young woman who is not as eager for a match as her mother, while Lord Henry Montrose is charismatic and confident, but he holds a secret.
There’s also Rowleigh Pryce, a wealthy, curmudgeonly investor who is interested in teaming up with Tom Parker on the seaside resort’s expansion. Their plans become complicated when Rowleigh runs into Lady Denham. Also new to Sanditon is Alexander’s brother, Samuel Colbourne – a lawyer, and a charming bachelor.

Lady Esther Babington received her happy ending in the Sanditon Season 2 finale, and it turns out that ending was final, as the character will not be back for the upcoming third season. As reported by TVLine, Charlotte Spencer, who played Esther on the PBS period drama, will not be returning for Season 3. The news comes after the actress joined the cast of the new BBC/Paramount+ drama series The Gold. Speaking to Decider, Sanditon showrunner Justin Young said, “I think where we leave [Esther] at the end of Season 2, she’s got everything she’s ever wanted. She’s happy, married, and now she has a child that she adores, so I think that’s the end of Esther’s story as far as I’m concerned.” He continued: “I’ve always said with respect to this show, the way we built it is that, like a novel. Spoilers abound for Sanditon Season 1 (and the first episode of Season 2) below. You’ve been warned!
Fans of romantic period dramas, rejoice! March brought the sophomore return of two beloved Regency-era shows — Netflix’s “Bridgerton” and PBS Masterpiece’s “Sanditon.” While the former is definitely the more boisterous and popular of the two, the latter has amassed a small-but-mighty fanbase of devotees.
Based on the 11 chapters of Jane Austen’s unfinished manuscript, “Sanditon and The Watsons,” the series first premiered in the UK in 2019, followed by a January 2020 release in the United States. Created by Emmy and BAFTA-winning “Bridget Jones’s Diary” writer Andrew Davies, “Sanditon” follows the free-spirited Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams) as she relocates from her rural town to Sanditon, a fishing village with aspirations of becoming a bustling seaside resort. While there, she meets the Mr. Darcy-esque Sidney Parker (Theo James), an initially uninviting man who nonetheless piques her interest.

The second series of Jane Austen adaptation Sanditon debuts on PBS Masterpiece Sunday and BritBox Monday but, were it not for a fan-led campaign that the original author would have been proud of, the show could easily have slipped off TV altogether.
A Sanditon Sisterhood campaign kicked into gear when the show was axed by original broadcaster ITV after just one season and, more than a year after the cancellation, Sanditon, which is based on an unfinished Austen manuscript, was revived for a second and third run by co-producer PBS Masterpiece and ITV-owned streamer BritBox.
The Austen-obsessed Sisterhood were energizing, launching a website, Instagram page and even bombarding execs and commissioners with Sanditon gifts including a Saving Sanditon egg box (an oft-quoted line from the show goes “Sanditon will rise from the ashes as sure as eggs are eggs”) and a clutch of Saving Sanditon facemasks.

Newcomers also include Frank Blake as Captain Declan Fraser and Alexander Vlahos as Charles Lockhart.
The new season of the drama based on Jane Austen’s final, unfinished novel, picks up nine months later, as the beautiful seaside resort town is growing in popularity.

Davies, who originally created the series, will also return to write several episodes and executive produce.

Christmas greetings to all; had enough of your Mum blasting out some Bruno Mars and your Nan playing Buble on repeat, well here’s my top 10 best albums of 2011 just in time, ready for some light hearted discussion on this year’s music.
Whilst 2011 was a killer 12 months for games fans, cinema was crazily mediocre, but the music world was blessed with another good year. I was lucky enough to attend the Leeds Festival, one as usual set amongst a hectic summer schedule of mud, sweat and tears. I also found myself buying more albums as the year offered some impressively talented LPs. Below is a list of my top ten favourite albums of 2011. As I have quite a mainstream taste for music, I’d love some further suggestions on what you think are the best albums of 2011, enjoy.

The Vaccines have revealed that they have started work on their second studio album. The band said that they aim to change their sound for the follow-up to their debut record What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?, which reached number four on the UK chart. Frontman Justin Young told NME: "We're still finding playing the first record really fulfilling - it only came out six or seven months ago - but of course you're always writing songs and thinking about the future. We've started work on new songs." He added: "Guitar bands in particular seem to get in the habit of making the same record over and over again, and I think we're really (more)...

Last season may have featured familiar faces on The Amazing Race but season 19's contestants bring something else to the competition. But even if these seasoned players are used to competition, they've never had to face the challenges of a race around the world. "There is also a lot of effort put forth to make athletes' lives easier so they can perform,...

For the first time in the history of The Amazing Race, a pair of Survivor winners will compete during the same season - as one team!
CBS announced this week that married couple Ethan Zohn (Survivor: Africa) and Jenna Morasca (Survivor: The Amazon) will compete against 10 other duos when this reality competition returns on September 25. Said the former, who battled Hodgkin’s lymphoma just a few months ago, to EW:
“Last year I was attached to a pump in complete isolation in a f-cking hospital room, and now I’m out traveling the world with the woman I love. Whatever happens, it’s gonna be okay. But if she screws up, I’m gonna kill her.”
The cast will be rounded out by Zac Sunderland (the youngest person to sail around the world solo), former NFL tight end Marcus Pollard and others. Details follow.

The Amazing Race has not been shy about having former CBS reality stars on the show. Boston Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich of Survivor fame played twice, while Big Brother’s Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd, as well as Alison Irwin (and her non-Big Brother boyfriend Donny) all have appeared on the program. But now, for the first time, two winners will team up to compete as Survivor: Africa champ Ethan Zohn and Survivor: The Amazon victor Jenna Morasca head up the cast for the show’s 19th installment (premiering Sept. 25 on CBS), which will also feature some new twists to the game.

The Vaccines have postponed their upcoming world tour. The band have had to cancel dates in the Us, Japan and Europe as frontman Justin Young was told that he must undergo his third throat operation this year. The dates affected include gigs in September and October, while their support slot on Arctic Monkeys' November tour is still expected to go ahead. Young wrote on the band's official website: "Unfortunately, the doctor has now confirmed that, this week, he will be operating on my throat for a third time this year. "It was the wait for this decision, and no other reason, that meant we were able to complete commitments over this last week and why we will not be able to complete those in the coming weeks." After announcing the cancellation of the dates, he added: "This allows me to have eight weeks of the best vocal therapy available,...

Over the course of her first two albums, Colbie Caillat established herself as the Southern California ideal personified: sunny, light, relatively uncomplicated, casual and undemanding. Songs like “Bubbly,” “Fallin’ For You,” and “I’m Yours,” her Grammy-winning duet with Jason Mraz floated away on their own pleasant airiness. On “All of You,” her third album, out July 12, Caillat retains her pleasing guile, but she’s thrown in a small dose of reality. A naivete has been replaced with a cautious, but still dominant, optimism. The set draws mainly from her feelings as she moves through her relationship with her bandmate Justin Young,...

On Friday, August 13, Grammy award-winning “Bubbly” singer Colbie Caillat and members of her band, including guitarist Justin Young, took a break from their busy schedule touring with Sheryl Crow to visit the upstate New York Shelter of Farm Sanctuary, the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization, where they spent time “falling” for farm animals rescued from abuse and neglect.
Colbie and all the members of her band had a great time engaging with the animals and learning about their stories. Later that night Colbie gushed onstage at her concert in Canandaigua, NY, about how wonderful the animals were and how much she enjoyed her visit to Farm Sanctuary!
