Emma Carr was born in Portsmouth, England on September 5th 1990 to
British parents. In November 1995, Emma's family emigrated to New
Zealand where she grew up with elder brother, Matthew. Shortly after
her arrival in N.Z, Emma began singing and dance tuition and a love for
Musical Theatre built. Her passion for the arts became apparent when
she returned to Britain by herself at age 16 in August 2007 to pursue a
career.
Adopted a stray Abbysinian cat called Sherlock Holmes in 2012.
Was named after Jane Austen's character 'Emma' which her mother, Bev, studied in 6th form.
Involved herself in fifteen years of Amateur Theatre where she played parts including Mary Phagan (Parade), Brighella (A Servant to Two Masters), Liesl (The Sound of Music), Eponine (Les Miserables) and Mabel (Pirates of Penzance).
Has a brother, Matthew, 2 and a half years older.
Father, Ian George Carr, died of a heart attack on 11th February, 2010 in his home in New Zealand.
