Fire Country has found immense success on Friday nights for CBS.
The firefighting drama stars Max Thieriot from Seal Team (Clay Spenser) and Bates Motel (Dylan Massett). He plays Bode Donovan (Leone).
The network has had lots of success with its NCIS Universe and the trio of FBI shows, so CBS wants to see if a Fire Country spin-off will work.
An upcoming episode of Fire Country is called Alert the Sheriff, and it is a planned backdoor pilot.
If CBS is happy with fan response and how the new characters work within the world of Fire Country, that episode will springboard into a new show called Sheriff Country.
This is called a backdoor pilot, where the characters from a planned show appear first on the primary show. Main characters for NCIS: Los Angeles appeared in a two-episode arc of NCIS, while Chicago P.D. characters first appeared on Chicago Fire for NBC.

Station 19 fans were given two emotional episodes about Jack Gibson to open the new season.
The premiere dealt with the doctors revealing Jack would never work again as a firefighter. His injuries were too severe.
The second episode for Season 7 showed Jack trying to fight for another shot, even though he could barely walk into the fire station.
During one poignant scene, Jack (played by Grey Damon) was shown taking the tape with his name off of his former locker.
The episode ended with Jack signing the bottom of the firehouse kitchen table. This has become the custom of people leaving the station.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Station 19 Season 7 Episode 2 “Good Grief.”] This isn’t the first time that Jack (Grey Damon) has stepped away from Station 19, but it very well looks like it will be the last. Due to his brain injury, he can no longer be a firefighter. That’s hard for Jack to accept as Station 19‘s final season continues, but it is something we’ll see. Because, despite his attempt to argue, he’s already gotten a second opinion. For now, he’s packed up his locker and, with the rest of the house around him, added his name under the table. Note: This story contains spoilers from the “Station 19” Season 7 premiere.
The seventh and final season premiere of “Station 19” revealed the fate of beloved firefighter Jack Gibson after he collapsed during the tragic accident at the firefighter’s ball in the previous finale. After performing emergency surgery and saving his life, Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) broke the news to newly-promoted captain Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) that her friend and colleague sustained a life-altering brain injury that will bench him from field work permanently.
The episode, titled “This Woman’s Work,” ended with Jack waking up after surgery and congratulating Andy on her promotion — and asking when he would be back on duty.

Speaking of bumpy, Jack (Grey Damon) is in a really bad way as the episode opens with him in surgery. Andie (Jaine Lee Ortiz) — on her first official day as Captain — of course is there with him when Grey Sloane’s Amelia Shepard (Caterina Scorsone) steps out to share an update, and the news is good overall. Amelia revealed that they had to remove a piece of...

With Station 19 and Grey’s serving as the only remaining shows on ABC produced by hitmaker Shonda Rhimes — who is now based exclusively at Netflix — why would the network ax one of its Thursday staples? The answer can be found in the math.

To say we are shocked by this stunning cancellation news is an understatement.
For going into seven seasons, Station 19 has carved out a devoted fandom of its own and made a name for itself outside of its flagship series, Grey's Anatomy.
It's the second Grey's Anatomy spinoff to reach massive success, but it's also the second spinoff to conclude before the mothership's run.
Meanwhile, Grey's Anatomy shows no signs of slowing down, even with the departure of Ellen Pompeo herself.
There has been a series of shakeups at Disney, as they released several series that have been ultimately canceled as series are coming back into film after the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Station 19 found massive success of its own, tying The Rookie as the number two scripted drama in the demo on ABC right after Grey's Anatomy.
And with that placement alone, it's another of many reasons why the series...

Exclusive: The upcoming seventh season will be the last for ABC’s Station 19. The decision, early in production on the season, would allow producers to craft a proper ending for the first responder drama, a spinoff from the network’s flagship Grey’s Anatomy.
Before it signs off, Station 19 will hit the 100th episode mark in Season 7, which was impacted by the double Hollywood strikes. The series has aired 95 episodes to date; its seventh season will consist of 10 episodes.
Boosted by frequent Grey’s Anatomy crossovers, over the last few seasons, Station 19 established itself as ABC’s No.2 drama series behind Grey’s. Over its run, the series also has been lauded for tackling important — and sometimes difficult — topics and recently received a Sentinel Award from Hollywood, Health & Society for its depiction of systemic racism in Season 6.

Staton 19 has been bringing the heat.
The Grey's Anatomy spin-off has made a name for itself and come into its own in the past six seasons, and it has been a positively thrilling ride.
Station 19 has undergone many changes over the year, from introducing and losing characters to shifts in storytelling and even switch-ups with showrunners.
During Station 19 Season 6, the series explored a few storylines, but most had a common theme that focused on mental health.
The theme impacted a handful of the series' characters with mixed results and focus. Still, it produced some strong episodes and even stronger performances by the show's talented cast.
The season also didn't have a shortage of relationship drama across the board with many of its characters.
Maya and Carina's marriage is temporarily on the rocks, Sullivan and Ross's secret relationship is the very definition of a rollercoaster ride, there's a messy...
