Thirteen-year-old Taylor Richardson was so inspired after watching the Oscar-nominated film Hidden Figures that she set out to raise enough money for 1,000 girls to see the encouraging flick in theaters.

The first requirement of any girl that steps into the role of Annie is that they have to be totally adorable. With a kind demeanor and sweet charm, former Houston-area actress Sadie Sink has no problems in that domain. This morning, I got to chat with the 11-year-old starlet who is now sharing the role of titular role with Taylor Richardson in the Broadway revival of Annie. It looks like Annie has finally found her friends. After a nationwide casting search for the role of Annie, which featured both open calls and online submissions, casting office Telsey + Co has cast the six orphans to join Lilla Crawford, who will star in the title role as previously announced.Emily Rosenfeld, Tyrah Skye Odoms, Junah Jang, Georgi James, Madi Rae Dipietro, Taylor Richardson will be Molly, Kate, Tessie, Pepper, July, and Duffy respectively. Jaidyn Young will stand by for Annie, Pepper, Duffy, and July. Richardson will understudy Annie.“We saw so many wonderful young girls for these roles,” producer Arielle Tepper Madover said in a release. “I wish we could have cast them all! With more than 5,000 girls auditioning for the roles, Jang, Rosenfeld, and Richardson each caught the casting director’s eye at an open call.
