If you want to see Katie Holmes' latest Broadway play, "Dead Accounts," you better act fast. Producers have announced the show will close seven weeks early, on Jan. 6, 2013.
Disappointing ticket sales are to blame, but the poor reviews didn't help either (though Holmes earned generally positive notices for her performance). "Accounts" began previews on Nov. 5 ahead of a Nov. 29 opening. The scheduled closing date was originally Feb. 24, 2013.
This was Holmes' second Broadway production, following 2008's revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons." She co-starred in "Accounts" with Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz. Judy Greer, Josh Hamilton and Jayne Houdyshell rounded out the cast of the comedy directed by three-time Tony winner Jack O'Brien and written by Theresa Rebeck.
It's been a rough 2012 for Rebeck, who departed her role as showrunner of NBC's "Smash" after a single season and saw her previous Broadway play "Seminar" close in May after...
