Boy Kills World is an extremely stylized dystopian action thriller revenge film directed by Moritz Mohr from a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith and Arend Remmers. Based on the story by Remmers and Mohr, the brilliant action film is set in a dystopian film where the Van Der Koy family rules the city. We follow the story of a young boy known only as Boy who is hell-bent on becoming a living breathing weapon to take revenge against the Van Der Koy family. Boy Kills World stars Bill Skarsgård in the lead role with Jessica Rothe, Andrew Koji, Famke Janssen, H. Jon Benjamin, Yayan Ruhian, Cameron Crovetti, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Quinn Copeland, and Sharlto Copley starring in supporting roles. So, if you loved the stylized action, dark comedy, and brutal violence in Boy Kills World here are some similar films you could watch next.

Twilight star Kristen Stewart is set to return to the world of vampires - but something tells us these bloodsuckers won't be of the sparkly variety!
Fans have been waiting for news on Panos Cosmatos' next project since 2018's surreal masterpiece, Mandy, and the filmmaker has enlisted a couple of A-list stars for what sounds like an intriguing horror thriller.
THR reports that Stewart and Oscar Isaac have signed on to play the leads in Flesh of the Gods, a vampire movie set in Los Angeles "during the glittering 1980s."
The story is said to follow "a married couple, Raoul (Isaac) and Alex (Stewart), who descend each evening from their luxury skyscraper condo and head into an electric nighttime realm of ’80s LA. When they cross paths with the mysterious and enigmatic woman and her hard-partying cabal, Raoul and Alex are seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills and violence.

The revived “Movie Maniacs” line from McFarlane Toys has been largely disappointing, as the new line focuses more on non-horror properties than it does horror ones. It’s a far cry from the classic “Movie Maniacs” line of the past, but McFarlane isn’t leaving horror behind entirely.
Up for grabs right now, in fact, is a brand new action figure of Nicolas Cage’s Red Miller from the horror movie Mandy, part of the “Movie Maniacs: Gold Label” collection!
The 6″ figure is selling for $24.99, and it’s expected to ship in December 2023.
Features include…
Incredibly detailed, highly decorated 6″ scale figure based on the movie. Red Miller comes with a printed backdrop and an environmental base. Includes art card with numbered certificate of authenticity and card holder. Also includes secret bonus item.

There never has been a movie star quite like Nicolas Cage. While obviously handsome and gifted with backlogs of charisma, beneath the surface there lies an unmistakable hunger, a sense of searching, and what some might even call a mania to take a role to its fullest extreme. Even when Cage is taking the “paycheck” parts, be it in glossy ‘90s Hollywood star vehicles or some of his lesser 2010s straight-to-digital efforts, the actor’s tangible desire to push boundaries and experiment is nothing short of riveting.
In a Reddit Ama, Cage once said the following about his craft: “I think many of the choices I’ve made have been inspired by film stars from the silent era, as well as cultural expression of performance like Kabuki and some of the Golden Age actors like [James] Cagney, so I don’t know how to say I’ve done something new because...

If you ever wanted to be like John Travolta's character in "Face/Off" and wear Nicolas Cage's face, I have some good news for you — provided you have an extra 2 grand laying around. The folks at Legion M, one of the production companies behind the fantastic horror movie "Mandy," is selling a hyper-realistic Nicolas Cage mask molded on Cage's "Mandy" character Red Miller. The end result is kind of disturbing, and very pricey. But it might almost be worth it.

Taking place in 1983, Red Miller is a lumberjack who lives in a secluded cabin in the woods. His artist girlfriend Mandy spends her days reading fantasy paperbacks. Then one day, she catches the eye of a crazed cult leader, who conjures a group of motorcycle-riding demons to kidnap her. Red, armed with a crossbow and custom Axe, stops at nothing to get her back, leaving a bloody, brutal pile of bodies in his wake.
In recent years, it’s become increasingly harder to differentiate between what’s a profound performance of Nicolas Cage or the rage infilled meme that he’s become, to shockingly effective outcomes. The lines are blurred, to say the least, with every stoic and atmospheric...

On screen, the revenge film Mandy is a ferocious fever-dream, but off screen it has been a game-changing success story for SpectreVision, the production company founded by Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller. The film has won over critics and a growing fan following since its January premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, and Wood now tells Deadline his company is sizing up an Oscar campaign for star Nicolas Cage.
“This is absolutely the most successful film and best-reviewed film we’ve made since we started this company eight years ago to focus on genre and horror films and to push the boundaries of what one considers those things to be,” said Wood, best known as the actor who portrayed the intrepid hobbit Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings films.

In 2010, filmmaker Panos Cosmatos came out guns blazing with his feature film debut, Beyond the Black Rainbow, and his follow-up project, Mandy, proved to be well worth the wait for those of us who have patiently waited to see just what the boundary-pushing director would do next. Like a powder keg of cinematic insanity ready to blow at any given moment (and when it does, man, the results are glorious), Mandy makes for a stunning companion piece to Black Rainbow in many ways, and yet still feels like a wholly unique step forward from Cosmatos. It’s hard to believe that he’s only two films into his career, but just based on his track record so far, Panos is now poised to become one of the boldest filmmaking voices of his generation.

Even before Nicolas Cage does a line of coke off a shard of broken glass in “Mandy,” the movie is batshit crazy. Panos Cosmatos’ followup to his wacky debut, “Beyond the Black Rainbow,” is another stunning dose of psychedelia and derangement, this one folded into the constraints of a woodsy revenge thriller, but that’s mainly an excuse for Cage to unleash his most psychotic extremes. Cosmatos gives him plenty of opportunities in this hypnotic midnight movie, which veers from astonishing, expressionistic exchanges to gory mayhem without an iota of compromise.

It’s hard to believe, but another year of the Sundance Film Festival is nearly upon us. Kicking off this Thursday, Sundance will be running until January 28th in Park City, Utah, and Daily Dead will be on-hand to check out an assortment of genre-related offerings. That being said, there’s a handful of films that immediately caught this writer’s attention as soon as they were announced for Sundance 2018, and here’s a look at what has me excited from this year’s festival lineup:

Canadian helmer Panos Cosmatos found a lot of fanfare stateside for his debut film in 2010’s Beyond the Black Rainbow, so naturally the Xyz Films and Spectre Vision folks saw a bankable filmmaker might be trending for whatever he conjured up for his sophomore project. Enter Mandy, the Sundance selected, blood-soaked action-thriller that shot this past summer in Belgium. We called his debut film “a nightmarish world that’s aggravating, hypnotic, and original”. It bodes will for the project co-written alongside Aaron Stewart-Ahn.
Starring Nicolas Cage, Andrea Riseborough, Linus Roache, Bill Duke, Richard Brake, Ned Dennehy, Olwen Fouere, and Hayley Saywell, this is set Pacific Northwest. Red Miller (Cage) and Mandy Bloom (Riseborough) lead a loving and peaceful existence. Nicolas Cage is a bloody mess in a new exclusive image for his upcoming action-thriller Mandy.
In the film, set in 1983, Cage plays Red Miller, a broken and haunted man, who hunts the unhinged religious sect who slaughtered the love of his life. Xyz Films is handling world sales on the project, and will bring it to the Toronto International Film Festival this week.
Andrea Riseborough and Linus Roache also star in the film, which is being directed by Panos Cosmatos (Beyond the Black Rainbow).

Even though Nicholas Cage has made some really dubious choices in projects to appear in, he has also made a fair few cracking ones too. Confirmation has just come through that Cage will be starring in Mandy, an action thriller from Beyond the Black Rainbow helmer, Panos Cosmatos.
The new project, which is due to start filming this summer in Belgium is set in the primal wilderness of 1983, where Red Miller, a broken and haunted man hunts an unhinged religious sect who slaughtered the love of his life and is being described as “Heavy Metal Story of Demon Bikers”
“Panos is one of the most vital young filmmakers alive, a pop-culture Kubrick in the making,” said Noah, SpectreVision’s Head of Development. “Nicolas Cage is a veritable god to those of us who grew up watching his classic performances. Bringing these two together for this surrealist, heavy-metal-soaked...

If you’ve ever wanted to see Nicolas Cage battle demon bikers (and let’s be honest, you have), then you’re in luck. Per Deadline, Cage will star in Mandy, from Beyond the Black Rainbow director Panos Cosmatos, to be released by SpectreVision, Xyz Films & Umedia. The brief official plot synopsis sounds like something akin to Death Wish meets The Wicker Man (both the original and the Nicolas Cage version with the bees) :
Mandy is set in the primal wilderness of 1983 where Red Miller, a broken and haunted man hunts an unhinged religious sect who slaughtered the love of his life.
SpectreVision Head of Development Daniel Noah describes the film as a “surrealist, heavy-metal-soaked story of battle axes and demon bikers,” which sounds right up Cage’s alley. Cosmatos, whose last film was one of the best sci-fi features of the century thus far, has described his next...

In recent years, Nicolas Cage has taken on roles with the same wild-eyed gusto with which he grabbed that choir singer’s butt in the opening sequence of Face/Off. And as one might expect, that sort of unfocused energy doesn’t always result in cinematic gold. His newest project sounds downright inspired, though: As Deadline reports, Cage has signed on to star in Mandy, the new film from director Panos Cosmatos, whose Beyond The Black Rainbow our own Alison Willmore called “a giddy drug-trip of a movie.” Cage will play Red Miller, “a broken and haunted man [who] hunts an unhinged religious sect who slaughtered the love of his life” in the “primal wilderness of 1983.”

News from Deadline this morning is that Beyond the Black Rainbow's Panos Cosmatos will be giving to us a piece of cinematic (black) magic, maybe delivered by the gods, or demons, we do not really care as this point. Why? Cosmatos is currently in pre-production on a new film called Mandy. It will star Nicolas Cage in a story described as, "...heavy-metal-soaked story of battle axes and demon bikers". I have also seen elsewhere someone involved with the production say that when Cosmatos submitted the screenplay he said, "...imagine Nordic mythology by way of heavy metal van art". Mandy is set in the primal wilderness of 1983 where Red Miller, a broken and haunted man hunts an unhinged religious sect who slaughtered the...
