A man accused of trying to extort film magnate Harvey Weinstein has been indicted on charges that he threatened to kill the relative of a coal company owner unless he received $13 million. Vivek Shah, 25, of West Hollywood, threatened to kill at least one member of Christopher Cline's family if Cline didn't wire the money to an offshore account, authorities said. In sworn affidavit by postal Inspector Joshua Mehall, Shah is accused of sending nearly identical letters to Weinstein and three billionaires, among them billionaire coal magnate Christopher Cline and Eric Lefkofsky, the cofounder of Groupon, threatening "to kill...

Vivek Shah, who had tiny roles in "The Dark Knight" and "Our Family Wedding," targeted Harvey Weinstein in a plan to extort $13 million from the producer. The 25-year-old actor sent a letter to Weinstein, telling him that if he doesn't wire the money to an offshore account, his family members would be harmed. Shah was arrested at his Chicago family home two days before he was set to return to Los Angeles, where he was scheduled for training in handgun shooting. The training was not movie-related. Surveillance video captured Shah purchasing debit cards and postage stamps, both of which tied him to the letters. He now faces 20 years in prison if convicted.
