- Welsh-born actor and poet. He has been a resident of New York City, USA, since circa 1990.
- At the of 18, he enrolled at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, where he trained with Anthony Hopkins.
- Billed early in his acting career as 'Mark Powell' and latterly as 'Marcus Powell'.
- Was cast in the film Pootie Tang (2001), but his scenes were cut.
- After becoming disenchanted with acting in the late '60s, he left the UK to teach English in North Africa. He didn't seriously resume his acting career until he moved to the USA years later.
